About Lisa and Peter

We purchased this beautifully updated home last year because we want to spend as much time in northern Michigan as possible, with our kids, to ski, sail, bike and hike.

Lisa and Peter purchased this house in 2013

Why Lisa and Peter chose Northwest

We had been spending vacation time all over northern Michigan, and Petoskey felt just right! The size and function of the house was perfect for us. We can come up as a family, and have another family or friends visit while we are there.

What makes this house unique

Not many homes built in 1900 have all the following items that are less than a year old: all new appliances, baths, floors, windows, and carpet, with the kitchen and all exterior and interior walls freshly painted. This home has the added benefit of being walking distance from everything we wanted, with the Bear River and it's brand new walking and bike trails steps away.

Absolutely Delightful

  • 5 of 5

Everything we were hoping for and more. The previous reviews are all spot on- this is a wonderfully decorated, clean and functional home in a great location. The owners are incredibly kind and attentive throughout the rental process. We've been to a lot of nice homes up north and this one is definitely our favorite- looking forward to coming back next year!

Highly Recommend

Just returning from a wonderful weekend getaway spent at this lovely home. Pictures don't do justice for the charm of this property. It is located in a very peaceful part of town but still within walking distance of everything Petoskey has to offer. The home is very well equipped and has everything needed for your stay. Peter and Lisa are very accommodating hosts and made this online rental experience a breeze. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and allowing us to create fun memories with friends.

Exceeded Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our experience with this rental! The property is kept immaculately clean and we felt right at home! The location is very close to town and yet in a very quiet neighborhood. Communication with the owners was very prompt and helpful. The lay out of the home yields both private sleeping areas and space for family games and meals. We'll definitely be visiting this rental again.

Charm and comfort does not go far enough.

My wife and I were looking for a fall get-a-way... and we received much more. The home is immaculate with brand new amenities, freshly painted, while still displaying the original woodwork (the stair newel is eye-popping.)

The kitchen allows one to prepare meals... when not enjoying the fabulous selection of restaurants and pubs. I can see us returning with friends and cooking appetizers while engaging in conversation as the kitchen and dining room are connected.

We absolutely love the upstairs... as a place for children to hang out and play when they just want to be left alone (not to mention there is a direct view of the bay from upstairs.)

We just loved everything about the house... but I haven't mentioned its best attribute. Location, location, location! It's an easy walk into town. Better yet, it's a walk that leads you across the Bear river (we watched as people were salmon fishing below.)

Petoskey is lovely with shopping, restaurants, and evening entertainment. Every place we visited was mixed with vacationers and locals (who could not have been more pleasant.)

We even made it down to the water and found ourselves some Petoskey Stones.

The town is great and the home is wonderful... we will certainly be returning.

Our house is in the heart of Petoskey, walking distance from both the Little Traverse Bay and about 150 yards from the Bear River. You can also walk to the downtown area for all shops and restaurants. The biking and walking trails are moments away as well. Ski slopes are 10-15 minutes away in either direction.
