About Laura Mealy

We are originally from Western, PA and spent our summers along the Juniata River. We currently live in Leesburg, VA.

Laura Mealy purchased this house in 2007

Why Laura Mealy chose Pennsylvania

We have loved this beautiful area all of our lives, so we bought property and built our modest home in 2007. It's a wonderful place for nature enthusiasts and family vacations.

What makes this house unique

This area is a slice of heaven that you will not find elsewhere. If you want to get away from it all but enjoy the comforts of home, this is the place for you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing your home away from home. Your house was just lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. This house is warm and cozy for a winter get away, with beautiful views of the river. We enjoyed dinner at Jean Bonnets as you suggested and it was really wonderful too! We look forward to returning soon!

Another great time!

  • 5 of 5

Even though the weather was not all that great it was another great year here. We really enjoy not having to bring all of the necessities such as sheets, towels, etc to come here. Everything is provided for you. Thank you again! We will definitely be returning next year.

Very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We brought our two dogs along on vacation for the first time. The house was very nice and clean. The fenced yard was an added plus. It felt like we were all alone in the world. You can hear the river from the porch. We had a fire and watched the stars. This year was for resting, but next year we will be sure to take in some of the nearby sites. Thanks Laura for sharing your house. Janice and Michael H.

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with another couple spent this weekend in this wonderful home. So comfy, well stocked, and great location. The fenced yard is the perfect addition for dog lovers. We enjoyed the fire pit and gas grill. Explored covered bridges and are at the Jean Bonnet. We hope to return with tubes to float the river in the future! Thoroughly enjoyed this property!

Awesome time

Great time! We had a wonderful time staying at this quiet riverfront property. The large fenced-in yard was super for our canines who had an awesome time, too. Super weekend getaway!

Very clean. Right by the river & historic bridge. Beautiful area.

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a location slightly off the beaten path, this is it. We were visiting family and it accommodated our family of 7 very well. We even saw snow on our last morning. We found it to be comfortable, with the exception of one of the mattresses, which needs to be replaced. The owner has been advised and promised to check out the mattress. We appreciated the towels & sheets that were provided, since we were flying. There are about 2 flights of steps to get into the house (as pictured), so that is something to consider if physical limitations are an issue. There is a nice fire pit, great kitchen area, laundry facilities, small family room, 3 bedrooms, & 2 baths. While we didn't bring a pet, the yard is fenced in.

I'm sure it's beautiful in the fall and spring. Lots of fishing and outdoor activities available for warmer weather.
