About owner/property manager

We were married in 2010 which left us owning 2 homes. We currently live in Cornelia, Georgia, just about 17 miles from this beautiful mountain home. My husband grew up in Illinois and lived in Tampa for 40+ years. He retired and built his dream mountain home in 2001. I grew up in Cornelia, Georgia, and have lived here all my life. I still work as a local realtor and love this beautiful area of the south that I call home. So, if you decide you would like to live here, I can help you with that, too! We are usually nearby, so if you encounter any difficulties, we are available to help.

owner/property manager purchased this house in 2001

Why owner/property manager chose Northeast Mountains

All the years that my husband was working in Tampa, he and his family always traveled in and around NE Georgia. He bought the land this home is constructed on in 1987 and looked forward to the day he could call this area home. This was his dream come true when he built this home.

What makes this house unique

The mountain view was the major attraction for my husband. When he was looking at this land he actually climbed trees to see what the view would be from the house site. Add to that a safe and quite community and he had found what he was looking for.

Beautiful

The pictures do not do the location justice. We wanted a nice quiet few days and that is what we got. We were very overjoyed by the space and supplies in the house. It was clean and neat and we hope to visit there again. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Lovely home in beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

This home is spacious and well-equipped and could handle a large group. It's also just minutes from Clarkesville - a lovely small town with great shops and several good restaurants!

Lovely home. Beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

Nice quiet and relaxing location. This home was the perfect size for our group. Nice location on rolling hills with a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. We would definitely stay in this home again. I do, however, wish check out is later than 10:00 a.m. that was pretty early.

Great house, wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent New Years at the house. From the house we went to Tallulah Falls, Dahlonega, and Helen. All these were within an easy drive. The weather was cold and rainy so we didn't spend as much time outside as we had hoped, but fortunately the house was very comfortable and our inside time was very enjoyable. We did quite a bit of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped with any tool, pot, pan, or device we might need. We enjoyed the pool table, although it has a certain idiosyncrasy to it. The rooms and beds were all very comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing a few nights in the North GA mountain area.

Amazing Christmas get away

  • 5 of 5

The main idea of our trip was to come visit Helen, we picked this beautiful cabin and we end up spending more time at home than out in town. The views were so amazing, never felt like a rental more like home. Everything that we needed it was provided. The space and the atmosphere made our holiday a very special x-mas. I keep in contact with Gale for any questions and she responded right away. I have already recommend her beautiful home to friends and family and we may be back someday in the future. Thank you Gale and Happy 2017 to you and your family!

We are located 6 miles North of Clarkesville, on Ga. Hwy 197, in the beautiful mountains. When you enter the front door, you will be wowed by the view from the wall of windows at the back of the living room. The living room opens to the back porch and decks that span the width of the home. Enjoy your morning coffee, evening cocktails or your meals while taking in the lake & mountain views. Our home sits on a man-made lake, so bring your fishing poles! We have a dock that makes it easy to sit back & wait for a bite! The home features an open floor plan that allows for great gatherings, even while preparing meals in the totally equipped kitchen with granite countertops. The vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows give you a feeling of spaciousness as thou you are in the great outdoors. With 3 Bedrooms and a loft, you can easily sleep 8! Two full baths are located on the main floor & one half bath is located in the basement with the recreation room that hosts a pool table, dart board and a wet bar. Direct TV and DSL are also provided. No reason to be bored here! We are just 14 miles from beautiful Lake Rabun where you can launch your boat for a great time on the lake. Or, you can drive in the heart of the mountains & discover all kinds of hidden treasures like Mark of the Potter and the Cottage Garden Gift Shop. NE Georgia towns like, Clarkesville, Helen, Cleveland, Clayton & Hiawassee are nearby so there is no shortage of places to eat and things to do. We'll even leave you a list of our favorite restaurants! Clarkesville is only 6 miles away with a new Ingles Grocery store that has a great selection of beer & wine as well as a Starbucks Coffee Shop. Clarkesville also offers The Old Clarkesville Mill which houses, antiques, a restuarant and a bowling alley. Some of the best restuarants you can find are located in Clarkesville. There's The Attic, Copper Pot, Midtown Grille, Hawg Wild BBQ, and Sweetbreads just to name a few. The alpine village of Helen is only approximately 17 miles away with bavarian shops & restaurants , 3 wineries, antiques and Unioci State Park featuring Anna Ruby Falls (It's an easy hike. We did it this fall with a 4 and 2 year old.) There is great hiking, fly fishing, golfing, tubing, zipline and other outdoor activites just a few miles away.
