3 Bed 2 Ba & 1,500 Square Feet Of Newly Renovated Living Space

We welcome you to our beautiful log-faced vacation home settled on a quiet double lot just blocks from downtown Salida. Three bedrooms and two full baths can easily accommodate six. The open, easy flow of the living room, dining room and kitchen provide comfortable entertainment space. There is ample room for a family dinner, a game of cards or a quiet movie in front of the fireplace. Mountain views surround! All this while the home maintains its Old West, small-town appeal. The famous Arkansas River lurks just out of view but across the street!

THE GREEN DOOR is completely furnished, with all the modern conveniences: flat screen televisions (2) with satellite, wireless internet, a fully appointed kitchen, all new appliances: refrigerator/freezer with filtered water/ice, microwave, dishwasher, gas range and oven, toaster oven and wine cooler. Pots, pans, dishes, washer/dryer (bring your own laundry soap) are included. All bathroom/bedroom linens are provided. A spacious outdoor patio with shaded pergola and bbq grill are waiting for your relaxation needs. Our visitors will welcome the over-sized two-car garage, off-street RV parking, and the mountain view from the garage porch.

THE GREEN DOOR is a very comfortable six-block walk to downtown historic Salida where you will find amazing Western movement architecture, art galleries, antique shops, gift shops, and great restaurants. Outdoor activities are abundant in and around Salida year round: hiking, biking, rafting, kayaking, hunting, fishing and skiing. The list just goes on and on.

Our family has spent most of our lives in Colorado and we love it more every day. After a two-year search for the 'perfect' spot to share with my grown children and grandchildren - and to retire within the splendor of the Rocky Mountains, I fell instantly in love with Salida. What's not to love? - The amazing Arkansas River, the architecture, the thriving downtown with only ONE traffic light, the nearby sulpher pools, the endless outdoor activities, the safety and freedom for children to explore everywhere, and the quiet, quiet, quiet neighborhoods...................Ah, happiness is a short walk to the river, a good book, a roaring fire, fresh air, and the gorgeous surrounding mountain scenery.

This particular property was studied carefully before the purchase became reality. The home is wholly on one floor with wide passages from room to room. It's even wheelchair accessible! It's easily cared for; it's totally remodeled, all the fixtures and appliances are new (and most of the furnishings). It's sparkling clean throughout! Yet, it retains that Old West flavor which speaks eloquently for Salida itself.

What makes this house unique

The home sits on a double lot and by Spring will begin to be professionally landscaped beyond the patio and pergola to the garage. There is plenty of room to spread out: room for the unique oversized two-car garage with shaded porch and a view of the mountains; room for the largest RV; and more space for added growth. There's even room for the daily visiting deer! Walk across the street and throw your fishing line in the Arkansas River!

This property for perfect for our visit to our son (and brother). We had plenty of room. Everything was clean, with added touches of 'emergency breakfast foods' and plenty of linens appreciated. Loved the wine fridge! Many, many books and some games too. Close enough to walk downtown even when it's cold. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you, Vada (and Paco).

Great spot for a ski getaway

We have stayed in Salida a few times and this was our favorite. Kitchen had everything we needed and the house is very nice. Three bedrooms made the trip with kids especially nice since we all had our own space. Great communication from the owners. Would highly recommend.

Cute house in a fantastic Colorado town

We had a fantastic weekend in Salida. This house is well-located, about a 10-minute walk into downtown. It has a nice outdoor patio, a modern kitchen, and most of the amenities you would want. The owner was incredibly responsive to our questions, too.

Exceeded our expectations!

A beautifully appointed home in a great location. Downtown within easy walking distance. All the room and amenities 4 adults needed and then some. Enjoyed my morning coffee on the patio while watching the hummingbirds. Would definitely book again!

Very nice!

I LOVED the well-equipped kitchen! The place was very comfortable.

Perhaps not the best for 3 separate adults that need 3 separate bedrooms as the 3rd one has a very small bed. It was hard to fit any of us in that room because we are fairly tall...

It would probably be perfect for a couple and maybe a child or two.

Owner's Response: Yes - the third bedroom has trundle beds - regular twin sizes. They work well for any regular-sized adults, but are perfect for kids, naturally. Our home is lovely and is, yes, very well equipped for short- or long-term occupancy. The pergola and patio are private, comfortable, and offer a serene environment among the gardens, visiting hummingbirds and (often) deer.
