|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Located on a private stairway which includes 7 other apartments, this family-run, two-story apartment is composed of a master bedroom, a second bedroom with two single beds (which could be combined into a single queen-sized bed), a large living room with a pull-out sofa bed, a kitchen, two bathrooms and two private terraces overlooking the sea; one on the lower floor where the bedrooms are located, and a larger one upstairs. The apartment is very central; a 5-minute walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops and restaurants. As Positano is built up on a mountain, we like to warn guests that there are steps to take in order to reach the apartment and to get around town.
From the nearby dock (3 minutes away) you can take daily ferries to famous destinations such as Amalfi, Ischia, Capri, Sorrento and Salerno. Privates boats are also available for daily trips to out-of-the-way places along the Amalfi Coast (grottoes, small islands, secluded beaches and more). You can also rent boats either with or without skippers. Buses and trains connect the more adventurous tourists to Pompei, Erculaneum, Paestum and Ravello.
Check-in at or after 15.00pm
Check-out at 10.30am
We have a 3-night minimum stay policy
We stayed in for a week in June and absolutely loved it. It was our 5th trip to Positano and after staying in 4 other apartments, we were thrilled to finally find "the one" and will never stay anywhere else! The views are fantastic, morning and evening. The location is great - taking the short stairway down to the main beach is a godsend after a long day of sunbathing. The kitchen is compact and very functional - great for chilling our wine and preparing our mozzarella dinners! Letizia and crew were very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend having them arrange porters to transport your luggage - worth every penny.
We will return again next year!
My wife and 2 daughters spent 5 days in Positano at Casa Caldiero. We were in Apartment #1, which was great if you want quick access to the beach, boats, etc. We loved hanging out on the balconies in the evening and enjoying the Positano atmosphere! The apartment was ideal for our family . . . the kitchen had plenty of cookware, etc and we prepared breakfast daily and even a few dinners. Everything was as described (or better).
The owner, Letizia, was great. She helped us out however she could . . .either by making reservations for porters, dinner, etc or by showing us how to operate the oven/washing machine, etc. We had a great time and I would highly recommend Casa Caldiero.
My wife and I spent a week at Casa Caldiero and absolutely loved it. The location is arguably on of the best in Positano. The views from the balcony are amazing and it is only a short walk to the beach. Be prepared for the steps - there are a few down to the beach and quite a few up to the road. We actually enjoyed climbing the stairs and getting a little workout in after enjoying the many delicious restaurants in Positano. Transportation to Capri and Amalfi is simple if you use the ferries that load and unload just under the apartment. Letizia was great and made everything simple. The Wifi worked perfectly. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave.
My husband, daughter, and I just spent a week at Casa Caldiero, an amazing apartment overlooking the sea. The location was perfect, 62 steps above the pedestrian path to the beach ,restaurants, and ferries, providing us with the perfect viewpoint to watch the activity below. The apartment, located within a gated compound, was clean, well furnished and inviting. The owner was able to help us arrange for a driver from Naples Airport - Ottavio, you're the best! - and porter service for our luggage. Money well spent. And, for those who must remain connected, Casa Caldiero now has internet connectivity. Don't let the stairs scare you away; if your vacation is anything like ours, the stairs will allow you to rationalize eating all the gelato, pasta, and pizza you want.
What a wonderful place !! Yes, going up and down the stairs is hard but that is the way of life in Positano. These villas are located in a premium place with each facing beautiful sea and right above from where the ferries leave. Apartment had mediterian (greece influance) feel to it and was very clean & comfortable. AC worked as it should. Showers/bathroom were small but not much different in size than other places we stayed in Italy (Americans will need to adjust their expecations!!). Best part was the host, Letizia Hardy, who made us at home right from the 1st phone conversation we had with her to time we arrive. She gave us pointers on where to do groceries to good places to shop and eat.
We debated between Sorrento and Positano and were very happy that we made the right choice especially, if you want to visit Amalfi coast, Ravello, Island of Capri and hike on breathtaking ''Path of God''. It took us about 1:20 Mins from Naples train station in a private taxi to Positano. Our driver from Ottavio taxi ( positanotaxiservice) was proffesional and informative. There are other ways to get to Positano from Naples but we did not venture into those options for personal reasons.
We loved Casa Caldiero and will strongly recommend it to the fellow travelers.
This is a wonderful location….the pictures on the website do not do this property justice, no pictures on any website could. The scenery from the patio is breathtaking…but so is the walk from the street to the apartment. Leitzia met us at the street and walked us down to the apartment. There are 261 steps, almost straight down, to get to the apartment. Do not carry your own bags down the stairs unless you are a fit 20 yr old! There are porters who, for 10 Euros a bag, will carry your bags to your apartment doorstep. Money well spent.
There are no cars allowed anywhere near the apartment, so be ready to walk a great deal, but you’ll never have to walk up those stairs again, unless you want to do so. There is an easy path to the restaurants and the beach. However, using this path is a 10 - 15 minute walk back to the street to pick up your ride to any sightseeing or your next stop on your Italian vacation.
The bedrooms are very comfortable and sitting on the upstairs patio (day or night) sipping wine and eating bread/cheese/meats cannot be beat (there are two patios). There is also a nice dining area and living area with windows that overlook the Sea. There are two full baths…one attached to one of the bedrooms and one on the same floor as the living area (both bedrooms are downstairs).
There is a washing machine, but no dryer.
The only drawback is that there is NO INTERNET. You can get internet at the restaurants at the beach, but you’ll do so for a minimum cost of 5 Euros for coffee.
