About the property

Lakefront Cottage in Deerfield

This lakefront home is located in a quiet cove in Deerfield Resort on Norris Lake. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that sleeps 4-6. It is continuously upgraded and immaculate.

There is deep year-round water in front of the house. Covered dock space for one boat and one jet ski is available and the dock can also be used for swimming and fishing. The cove location makes swimming and fishing enjoyable and safe as it is free from heavy boat traffic. The front yard has a gentle slope, which provides an easy walk to the lake. The Greens golf course and restaurant is 2 miles away and an airstrip is 1 mile from the house. Tennis, volleyball, and a swimming pool are about a mile away.

Shaded Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in the house. Everything we needed was provided and well kept. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the various local birds and squirrels. The small deer family walking through the yard was also a bonus.

We had an amazing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Our overall experience for our weekend at Norris was awesome. The Cottage was everything we had expected and more. We did not have any issues with this property or the owners. The section of the lake it is located it perfect. Wonderful dock that allows safe swimming and a spot for your boat and jet ski. The owners were awesome as well and were there to answer any questions we had along with the neighbors.

Thanks again! We will be sure to refer your cottage to others as well as make it back for another long weekend.

Great in the fall!

  • 5 of 5

Took the family for a long weekend in mid-October. Leaves were beautiful, water was still warm enough to swim, ski, tube, bridge jump! Almost no one on the water too. We did luck out with the weather being 75 and sunny all three days, but would have enjoyed our stay anyhow. The house was clean and cozy. Had a fire in the fire pit every night we were there. Great place.

Great spot, great lake. Could use a couple of amenties

Nice well kept house on a small cove. Boathouse with lift if you have a boat. This house and neighboring houses are mostly in the trees (and shade) which was very nice.

We rented a boat from Sugar Hollow Marina and found that it took 15-20 minutes to drive it, but only 5 minutes to boat from there to the house!

We are exploring areas to possibly move to on a lake somewhere...not sure where yet, just in the exploratory phase. I found the lakes in East Tennessee to largely be flood control lakes with 30-40 foot level changes from summer to winter time. Also the terrain is quite hilly. I'm from Colorado so I thought I knew about hills. The Tennessee hills are beautifully forested but the roads and drivers present challenges! It's cool when they stay on their side of the yellow lines, but many times they cross when oncoming. The hills also go right to the lake so the houses are 50 feet above the water and getting to and from the water is a workout.

A week before arriving, we got an email that stated no washcloths or bath towels are provided...I found that strange as the other 2 lakehouses I stayed in this trip provided all of that. Not a problem if you're driving, but traveling by air makes you want to watch your space. There was a washer and dryer right there where we could have freshened them up before we left. Another inexpensive thing would have been to provide a small box of laundry detergent. The grocery stores we knew about were 15 minutes away at least so we didn't do laundry.

Overall this area is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there (for purely personal selective reasons).

I would recommend this house for a short term rental as it was nice.

Immaculate home!

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything we needed. Loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings. Having the boat dock was a definate plus and the walkway up the hill wasn't bad at all. We were supposed to have 5 guests but ended up with only 3. It is a small home but was the perfect size for our needs.
