This newly finished out hayloft on a south sloping mountain side is the perfect place to plan your vacation in Asheville. Located just five miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, eight miles from the magnificent Biltmore Estate, and ten miles from our vibrant downtown, this serene spot offers quiet comforts and convenience. Also for cycling enthusiasts, mountain bike trails are equally accessible and road riding is literally right out the door.
This newly renovated space has a large bedroom with a queen size bed and a large living area with a fold out couch. There is also a twin size bed that can be used. The kitchen is fully equipped in case you decide to eat in and can accommodate four at the breakfast bar. The space is beautifully lit and is also a wonderful spot to rest and relax in between the many adventures you can enjoy in the Asheville area.
We are an active family that enjoys all the great outdoor benefits of living in the Asheville area.
Andrew McKenzie purchased this cottage in 2003
Close to town but serene.
Very pleased with my stay, good communication, great location, flexible management, house was well-prepared.
Andy's place was perfect for all of our needs. It's in a great location--secluded and quiet with gorgeous views of the fall leaves and the stars at night, yet 10 minutes away from anything you might need (groceries, gas station, restaurants, etc.). Downtown was only about a 20 minute drive, and there were tons of options to go hiking within 20 minutes as well. The home was clean and inviting, and it was the perfect size for us and our 2 large dogs. There's also a nice sized yard beside the home that our dogs loved running around in. Andy was a wonderful host, he responded within minutes to our messages and fixed a couple minor issues that same morning. He was incredibly friendly and always willing to give us suggestions for where to eat or hike. We will definitely be back!
It was a unique setting--felt very far away from everything but was only 2 miles from Biltmore village with places to eat and shop. This converted hayloft was very light and airy, nicely decorated and just as shown in the pics. We really liked the piano and wish could have made the cute little gas stove work. The bed was comfy and wish the pull out sofa bed had been as well, but as daughter said "can't expect much from a sofa bed". We liked that there were ample pillows and bedding. Just make sure to bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. Also be aware that you'll only get Netflix on the tv with the free wifi. We met the owners son when leaving and he was very nice! If in the area -- we'd stay here again!
We had a great time on our trip to Asheville. This is in a good location. Easy to get to downtown Asheville, Biltmore, and Sierra Nevada. Very clean house and well maintained.
very nice stay, Andrew, the owner, is a great guy and I enjoyed our conversation over coffee. property is very clean and organized.
This place was great for the final days before our daughter's wedding. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen adequate and the location perfect. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is my husband was expecting cable TV and central air. The setting was so lovely, green and quiet. Just what I needed before the wedding weekend celebratin started.
