Exactly what we were looking for!

We loved staying at the barn! Clean, cozy, and extremely accommodating. The owner could not have been friendlier, and made sure we had everything we needed. Close to downtown Asheville, yet away from it all. Best of both worlds! We hope to stay again.

My positive and unfortunately negative review

  • 3 of 5

The positives:

-communication, Andrew was extremely helpful, nice, and quick to answer any of my questions and get back to me regarding any of my concerns

-the barnloft is very cute. Situated in the mountains, you get amazing starry nights. It’s private, you feel safe, and the fireplace makes you feel very cozy

-the listing was exactly as described

The negatives:

We showed up on our first day on Friday morning expecting to work remotely in a relaxing atmosphere but the pipes were frozen so from our arrival of around 8:40-4:00 we were without running water. I understand These things happen and Andrew was quick to let me know and to help out as much as he could but I dont Think it should have happened in the first place. It was an inconvience and it turned our relaxing work day into a struggle as we had no idea if we were going to have to leave and get a hotel room if it didn’t thaw by the evening, we couldn’t leave due to work calls, etc.. I just don’t understand if you have a vrbo in Asheville during the winter I’m sure you deal with freezing temps all the time and our arrival was no surprise, not sure why you wouldn’t, to prep for the arrival of guests, leave faucets dripping and the heat on high in advanced.

I would Definitely stay again as the overall experience was nice and the location and host are great. Just wished it would have been a little more relaxing of an arrival.

Owner's Response: While it's true the pipes were frozen due to unseasonably cold temperatures it is truly disappointing to receive such a poor review when I allowed the guests to arrive SIX HOURS before their check-in time and the pipes were only frozen for ONE HOUR of their stay. Additionally it is even more disappointing to see guests leave a sink of dirty dishes for whatever reason. VRBO is a wonderful way to provide people an alternative to staying in a hotel. Flexibility goes both ways. I was happy to provide the option of arriving early and bringing a pet (no pet fee was paid btw). I would think one hour without water would not be such an inconvenience. As a homeowner, it is always my hope that guests will enjoy their stay and will regard our home as you would your own.

Peaceful, Clean, almost Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the location! Not too far from the surrounding towns and downtown Asheville. Out far enough to be quiet. Loved the layout of the barn. It is just the perfect get away for me and my Molly! Andy was a patient and gracious host! Thinking about coming back in the Spring!!

Perfect Cozy Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holidays. The barn had everything we needed to enjoy some slow days relaxing and cooking in as well as a quiet and WARM fire to return to at night after exploring the surrounding attractions. I think our dog expects us to install a fireplace at home now! Thank you for the lovely vacation!

Awesome place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for our weekend winter getaway. Asheville experienced quite a snow storm the day we drove down and the owner was so kind to email and to call to make sure we knew the safest way to get to property. He communicated with us numerous times to keep us up to date on the conditions. The apartment was very clean and well accommodating. We were plenty warm with gas stove. The grounds were lovely especially after the snow. The drive into downtown was not bad at all even with the weather.

Nice, quiet location with good access to local adventures.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were staying here for our annual Xmas trip and liked it so much, that we booked it for our Spring Trip. The description of the property is accurate, with the owner available and prompt if you should have any concerns, other wise you will not be bothered.
