About John Wuesthoff
John and Betty are former Peace Corps Volunteers. He is now a retired attorney maintaining a professional home office in their home and she, a past director of Maine's Refugee Resettlement Program, is his part time secretary and bookkeeper when not caring for 2 grandchildren living across the bay in Falmouth, or attending their soccer games. Periodically John travels to monitor elections being 'seconded' by the U. S. Dept. of State, to former Yugoslavia and the former Soviet Union. They are both active volunteers in an organization dedicated to the historic preservation and protection of the environmental integrity of the Eastern Promenade and long time welcomers of domestic and international visitors.

You’ll fall in love with it immediately
I truly can’t say enough good things about this place and how amazing John and Betty are. John greeted us, helped us carry our bags and gave us a walk through of the apartment explaining everything. It’s a 3rd floor apartment with great views. The apartment itself is beautiful, clean, and the best place I could have found to stay in Portland. The location is perfect as well. Walking distance to everything. I can’t wait to come back for another visit some day.
The property was absolutely beautiful. It really was my home away from home.
I loved staying here and I’m kinda sad to go lol. I was here for 6 weeks during school and John and Betty did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and happy. This was honestly the best place I’ve stayed at in all the times I’ve moved around the country for school.
wonderful apartment, great location, terrific homeowner
was easy to book, great communication from John, also great info when we arrived. The unit was clean and very comfortable, loved the views from the dining room and fire escape. it as easy to get around, and we had a lovely time there. There was plenty of info in the apartment and John gave us some great tips- we enjoyed taking the bikes over on the ferry to Peak's Island , and another day got to ride around the Back Bay. He also gave us a coupon to Blackpoint Inn, we went for lunch and did the cliff walk, glad he suggested it as we really enjoyed it. We also went to UFF for a cider tasting, that was really neat. It was handy having the laundry available in the basement. We had some great meals at Blue Spoon and David's, also enjoyed the donuts at Holy Donut.
What a very special place and stay in Portland, Maine
We had a wonderful 4 day stay at this location in Portland. The apartment was lovely, spacious, immaculate and in the best part of Portland. The owners were there to greet us
and to help us settle in. The one problem, for anyone with knee issues, were the stairs up
to the apt. Well worth the climb though.
If one can not be happy in this charming atmosphere then one just can not be happy!
It was just perfect for us to spend our 40th wedding anniversary here. Thank you for sharing this special place. We enjoyed all the beautiful people, the scenery and food that we found in Portland ME.
