About Rahel Cook
THE OWNERS: In the mid 60’s the Seattle skyline had the Space Needle to the North and The Smith Tower to the South. There was nothing tall in-between the two notable structures. This is when I purchased this property, thinking I would live in the small beach cottage a few years. As time elapsed Seattle was growing, memories were created that could not be made today. My children diving off the old Sea Crest Marina piers, mooring our boat steps from our front door, sailing across Elliot Bay to Seattle, are but a few. Years went by, the memories and stories flourished and I realized I loved the house and area and was destined to stay. The house was so small it needed to grow. The first growth spurt was in the mid 70’s, when the children and the house grew taller. Next came 1980, the year I met my future husband. We complemented each other’s passion for art and creating with space. The spirit of the house and its land generously continued giving us the opportunity to fulfill our visions and dreams, often in the face of local growth obstacles. Today the Marina and boats are gone, the Seattle skyline is magnificent, and the house is beyond recognition of its former self. It welcomes the multitude of changes it observes and the attention it gets.. It deserves to be shared, through it you know the owners. Our home invites you to create your own stories and memories. Enjoy!

How soon can we get back?
This wonderful home is amazing from the moment you step through the foliage shielding the public sidewalk from the one leading in to paradise. Every space you enter is unique and filled with art. Quite a diverse collection of artifacts from around the world and things like model boats and tiny motors to match! There are many seating areas inside and out, and it's the most relaxing place I've ever stayed. We were a party of 6 and never felt like we were on top of each other. You could always find a quiet corner. The views are even better in real life! It is clean and you can find everything you need easily. The location is perfect for any sight-seeing you want to do with the ferry so close. The lower level was a bit musty.
A favorite for sure!
I appreciated all the different spaces to lounge, share meals and visit. It was nice to have the family together under one roof at a reasonable cost. Thank you!
Refreshing and a seriously amazing home and environment!!!
We have stayed at at least 50 vacation rentals over the past 10 years and this one ranks right at the top. Everything thing you need is available. The vibe of this home is blessed with life. You can,t help but feel relaxed. The owner and host were easy to reach when we had questions. I have no recommendations. Thank you for sharing your home. We look forward to returning this summer and will hope to stay here when we do.
Location, Views, Art!
Rented this place for my artist mother to stay in for her bday. The home is full of incredibly unique art and was so fun to explore and hang out in. Perfect entertainment and views for the rainy days, and the location was ideal to get downtown by water taxi.
A few friends and I ended a weeklong road trip in Seattle and although the trip would have been an unforgettable experience regardless, being able to cap off the trip in this house made the whole trip that much more special. One of the coolest homes I have ever seen - sometimes we had difficulty getting out and exploring because we were so content just staying in! Easy ferry ride to Pike Place, numerous bike sharing services just across the street and a jaw-dropping view of Seattle's skyline.. what more could you ask for?! Rahel was also amazing - timely and helpful with responses to any questions or inquiries we had and as nice as could be. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Seattle and I'll have to recruit some fellow travelers because there is no way I can pass up staying in this gem if available!
