Why Marvin Lee chose Village of Oak Creek
My wife and I discovered Sedona while visiting my mother-in-law one Christmas. We fell in love with this area with all of it's beauty and wonders. When my mother-in-law decided she wanted to move out here permanently, we saw an opportunity to make Sedona a great get away for our hectic lives. We found this great condo 5 miles from the center of Sedona in the town of Oak Creek. This area is far less touristy and noisy which we wanted for her and ourselves. When you come to Sedona you want to let the stress of your lives go and soak in the positive energies of this area. We set up the condo as a home for my mother-in-law and she lived here for 10 years. It was only recently that it was decided that she needed to live with one of her daughters as she now needs a little more attention than living by herself in Sedona. The condo is still set up as a home which we would like to share with you along with the wonders of Sedona.

One month in the Village
I really enjoyed our month of January in the Village of Oak Creek, the quiet town about three miles from Sedona. The condo is located on the main road which is a little close for a light sleeper, which I am. That said, I wore ear plugs with no problem, had the windows open all night, it was great to get the fresh air. Each night I could hear the coyotes yipping and howling a mile away. We had next door neighbors and downstairs neighbors during our stay but could barely and only occasionally hear them.
The kitchen was equipped with a well functioning dishwasher, decent cooking pans and utensils, nice dishes. It was nicely set up for a funconing household so we didn’t have to buy every little thing at the store. This was a big deal for me as I have stayed at a number of places that don’t have much to offer.
We couldn’t figure out the surround sound even though we had directions. We are techno challenged! No worries, the tv was nice, the dvd worked and we found that the cable has DVR so you can record a few of your regular programs. Bonus!
I remember reading a negative review prior to our trip but found that I didn’t know what they were talking about. We found the condo to be clean and pretty. The beds were comfortable and they provide multiple options for pillows and bedding. We are fussy sleepers and were able to make everything work for us.
One other thing, my husband likes to play pickle ball. There is a court at the golf course. They actually restructured the tennis courts into pickle ball courts. They usually start at 9am Mon and Wed.
Great, comfortable place to stay
It's away from the congested part of Sedona so very quiet which we enjoyed. Close to stores and restaurants. The condo had everything we needed. Overall had a wonderful time here
Convenient place near Sedona
We came here from NH, to spend Thanksgiving week with our two teenage kids and my mother. The place is clean and well equipped. Walking distance to some of the trails. We have truly appreciated living close to Sedona but not there, as it helped us to avoid holiday traffic.
Other reviews mentioned some noise from the road, but it did not disturb me, though I am a bit sensitive to noise at night.
Overall, great place to spend family vacation, highly recommend it.
Nice condo in good location
The condo was on the top floor, accessed from an outdoor staircase and breezeway. There was adequate space and all the equipment was in good working order (and the detailed instructions made things easy). The complex has a pool and two hot tubs, which was great after long rides (we used this as a base for mountain biking). Lots of restaurants and a few bars within walking distance, and a full sized grocery store right across the street. I would definitely recommend this place. Great location for accessing trails.
Beware the Red Rock Ohana
Not fully cleaned,Internet did not work, sliding door blinds inoperable and falling off mountings. Bathroom light shorted out intermittently causing a fire hazard. TV difficult to operate. High traffic noise. Rented for 28 days. Left after one day. Owner agreed to partial refund but then refused any communication. Credit card company refunded all but $169 which I proposed. Owner tries to manage from CA and has no local mgr. Worst ever rental experience.
I will have to agree with Mr. B, this was the worst rental I had to deal with. I have never had a renter attempt to re-wire the cable and internet equipment to suit their needs. First the internet/wifi was working when Mr. B enter the unit. He used it for the first day. It only stopped working when he attempted to rewire the unit to suite his business needs. As for the cleaning, it was clean, what Mr. B had an issue with was there was no top sheet under the comforter. The vertical blind worked, only the top valance had fallen off. Since then I have replaced it. As for the so call fire hazard, Mr. B was using the tracking lighting in the bathroom as a night light. He had the switch on the lowest setting, which tends to make the light flicker. If he had asked me, I would have told him there was a night light in the other bathroom. The tv remote does work and it is fully explained how to use it in the Welcome Letter which he and every guest receives from me. I told Mr. B I would give him a partial refund only after I inspected the unit, but he wrote a negative review prior to my inspection. Oh by the way, I had within 10 minutes the wifi working by hitting the reset button on the wifi router, the same procedure I verbally gave him when he called me in Hawaii while I was on vacation. He said he did press the reset but it did not work. Not sure why it worked for me and not Mr. B. If you have any questions if my condo is in a great condition or I am a good host, please read the other reviews and see how many other negative reviews there are.
Located at the beginning of the Red Rock Country and easy access to hundreds of hiking trails through some of the most spiritual and soul lifting mountains and mesa's.
