About Dee Remey

We live on the coast of Florida but love spending time in the North Carolina mountains. There is a peace we enjoy here more than anywhere else. We have raised our 4 children coming here for vacations and they love coming back as adults, just to relax and enjoy their families.

Dee Remey purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Dee Remey chose Sapphire

This is a special place! The air is fresh and cool, and the busyness of life slips away so that you can relax and experience peace, quiet, and special times with those you love.

What makes this cabin unique

This home is unique in that is is a log home with all the creature comforts and rustic/elegant decor you would want to find in a beautiful mountain home. Our favorite part of the home is the deck with an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, living area, dining area, and hot tub. We spent most of our time here and the views will take your breath away. We love the altitude at 4500 ft. as it is always cool, yet the house stays warm as it faces southeast and most often has the sun shining on it throughout the day. The views of Lake Keowee and Lake Hartwell (80 miles away) are lovely against the long range mountain views. At night, you will feel like you are on top of the world with the city lights of Clemson and Greenville, SC shining brightly. There is no place we would rather be!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved our stay at Mountaintop Sanctuary! The views are stunning and the home is so nicely decorated and warm and inviting. We look forward to returning. A five star stay for sure!

A True Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

We rented this gorgeous home for a Friendsgiving trip. Mountaintop Sanctuary exceeded all of our expectations, and it is difficult to capture in writing how beautiful a place this is. The owner, Dee, was an absolute dream to work with, very helpful, prompt and thorough. The home feels like it is in the clouds, at the very top of the mountain, with the most breathtaking vistas. The decor is very tasteful and comfortable, super stylish without being too precious to relax on the couch. The kitchen was well equipped and we had no problems cooking and serving a full Thanksgiving dinner. There was plenty of room for our party of 10, and the kiddos could hang out in the spacious lower level and play while the adults enjoyed time together upstairs. The bunk room was a highlight for our littles! The property was very clean and well maintained, and even smelled fabulous when we walked in. I cannot recommend this property highly enough for an incredible retreat to the NC mountains.

Family GetAway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second escape from holiday madness to MountainTop Sanctuary. We have enjoyed making new Thanksgiving memories at this beautiful home. The views are breathtaking and the amenities are superb.

The house is immaculate and well-stocked. Perfect for large families seeking refuge from the world.

Be sure to take daily walks down the mountain and back to the top for an amazing workout. The nearby State Park has fabulous trails and waterfalls. Cashiers has a few quaint places to enjoy--but we cook at the hosue the whole week and enjoy the views. We closed out every evening with a roaring fire and star gazing.

Glorious stay!

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from a family get-together over July 4th at Mountaintop Sanctuary. It truly is close to heaven. The house is beautifully furnished, well-equipped, and wonderfully comfortable. The view from the porch is one you'd gladly endure a strenuous hike to see - miles and miles of mountains and lakes, with half a dozen nighttime fireworks displays for the 4th. My wife never left the house for the entire 3-night stay! We would definitely recommend it and hope to visit again.

Couldn't ask for more!

  • 5 of 5

My coworkers and I booked Mountaintop Sanctuary at the last minute, and Dee couldn't have been more patient and accommodating. The home is absolutely beautiful--almost as beautiful as the views! There is plenty of room in the home for a large group without feeling crowded (we only had four, but it could easily handle 10+). It was better than any hotel, and nights spent by the outdoor fireplace are a must! Everything you could possibly need is already on-site--just bring your clothes (and maybe laundry detergent if you don't want to bring THAT many--there is a washer and dryer). But Dee is who really made this trip for us--she was available for any questions we had, and really went out of her way to work with us before and after the trip with our special circumstances.

The Perfect Place!!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we could not believe how perfect everything was. The pictures do not do this home justice - it is absolutely beautiful and the view takes your breath away. Everything was prepared and waiting for our late arrival - the lights were turned on. No detail was missed! My family had the best time at this gorgeous retreat. I highly recommend a stay at Mountaintop Sanctuary. Dee - we will see you again!!
