Small, Deluxe Complex, Two King Bedrooms, Two Baths, Sleeps Four, Large Balcony
We welcome you to 502 S, our top floor deluxe beach front condo in Tres Regalos. Upon arrival, the gate guard will register you and direct you to the planted parking area. Walking past the salt water pool, you will find yourself just steps to the ocean, at the northern most end of Jaco Beach. The condo grouping has only thirty units, so the feeling is intimate. After an elevator ride to the fifth floor, you will see captivating views.
The friendly staff are available to assist you with transportation arrangements, independent sightseeing directions, and the full list of activity tours described in THE 502 BOOK. Inside the condo, you will find two full sized well appointed bedrooms with King sized beds, and two baths. Marble and glass showers, full vanities. You will find a fully equipped kitchen; stainless dishwasher, stove, side by side refrigerator with ice dispenser, microwave, blender, and coffee maker. Meals can be taken sitting on bar chairs at the black granite counter or sitting in tropical wood chairs at the balcony table. You may prefer eating on the balcony, as it has a great view of the beach as well as the jungle clad mountains and a small river. There is always something or someone to see, as joggers, surfers and fishermen come down to the end of the beach and return.
TRES REGALOS is next door to Crocs Resort and Casino. If you need to try your luck while having a cocktail, just walk out on the sand, turn left, and enter their beach entrance.
Turning to the right and crossing the river at low tide will take you to Monkey Beach, where natural jungle growth comes down to a small beach cove.
Jaco is a very safe, clean and fun beach town. Main street, with its many shops and restaurants, is a fifteen minute walk or a cheap taxi ride away. Maybe walk to town on the beach, stop for a beer, dine and return by taxi. You can dine in luxury at Italian, Asian or Continental restaurants at Los Suenos, or try the many fine restaurants in the main part of Jaco. They are all listed in The 502 Book. My favorites are Grafitti, Tsunami Sushi, and Wishbone.
Quiet central air conditioning keeps the inside comfortable for your return from walks, and makes sleeping a dream. The flat screen TVs are hooked up to cable. Bring your memory stick or CDs for the stereo. Computer users will enjoy the wireless internet connection, which reaches to every room. You will find a safe for your valuables. By planning to make use of the washer and dryer, you can pack fewer clothes.
The jacuzzi and pool were built with Coralina Stone, giving them a natural look. By using salt water filtration, chlorine is avoided, and your skin will feel GOOD. The pool area offers plenty of shade as well as sun.
Fresh vegetables and fruit are found at local markets or the nearby high end Automercado, where you can also pick up deluxe precooked entrees. Fresh fish is found at several supers in town or you may buy one from the rock fishermen at Monkey Beach. For those who want to experience world class sports fishing, chartered boats can be hired at Los Suenos Marina. Grill your catch or ribs by the pool while enjoying a cold drink.
For those who enjoy filling their days with activities, a long list of recommendations are to be found in The 502 Book, or just ask Forest.
I am a retired American elementary teacher living one hour from Jaco, so am available to answer all questions.
It is understandable if you are new to CR that you will have many questions, and I will be happy to provide all the info you need. I live here full time and love it.
After you reserve, and I have your email address, I will be able to send you lots of info to facilitate your vacation.
I will start with advice on ground transport. And follow with restaurant and food store clues. You do not really need to rent a car at the airport, unless you really want to drive, as I can arrange your airport pick up and delivery with my reliable transport man. He does private pick ups for the whole group for $120. to Jaco, with stops for crocodile viewing, banking, and grocery shopping. Later you can rent one from the usual agencies, like Thrifty, in Jaco. More on that later.
After you reserve, VRBO will permit me to have your phone number and email, so we can chat. I have a Magic Jack number, and like to call all my guests.

We came to live in Costa Rica after living in Asia for a few years. We are in love with Costa Rica; both the central valley and the beach. Ticos have to be the happiest, friendliest people in the world and it is fun to live among them! Ask for my articles on why Ticos are happy.
FOREST purchased this Condo in 2013
Why FOREST chose Barrio Los Faroles
Tres Regalos is on the very north end of Jaco Beach, so is away from the main area, yet near enough to easily get to all the shops, services, and eateries. MAS POR MENOS is the best super in town. Jaco is the nearest good beach town from the Central Valley, traveling on CR's only autopista. Tres Regalos is next door to Crocs Resort and Casino, which has three restaurants and other attractions. Tres Regalos is ten minutes drive to The Automercado, an upmarket supermarket, and Los Suenos, the most luxurious golf course condo enclave and marina in Central America. The charter fishing fleet sails from Los Suenos.
What makes this Condo unique
In front of the condo is a fine long beach for walking, bike riding, running, surf fishing, surfing, boogey boarding, and of course, swimming. The salt water pool and whirlpool are very beneficial for the skin. You will enjoy crossing a stream to Monkey Beach, where you may find yourselves alone. Yet, you are only five minutes from the pool and shower. For those who wish to be more active, the jungle and sites of Manuel Antonio are one hour away, and the volcanoes at Poas and Lake Arenal can be reached in a few hours. Carara National Biological Reserve is one half hour, and Monteverde Cloud Forest is two hours away. Charter fishing boats can be hired at Los Suenos wharf, ten minutes away. Los Suenos also has three fine restaurants, with fine dining and a golf course, where you can exercise your credit card! We always enjoy our stay!!
The accommodations are very comfortable.
The only improvement could be a few more basic non-perishables in the kitchen.
We love staying there!!
Thanks for your upbeat enjoyment, Bob and Kathy! I have put more spices in the cupboard and more paper towels too. More placemats and wine and juice glasses are on the way. They seem to just disappear! I look forward to reservIng again for you next year!

Love This Place!
We would first like to say Thank You Forest for letting us rent your condo for two weeks. We keep coming back here because it is truly Beautiful !
Forest's condo has an amazing view, just to sit at the beautiful table on the balcony and watch the Sunset is breath taking. Drink in hand!* His condo is very clean and has enough dishes and cooking items to accommodate you. One thing that we could of used is a large tray to carry our food down to cook on the BBQ. We love to BBQ . We had a couple of small issues but as soon as we contacted Forest he was on it right away. Town is so close you can walk or take a cab for $3.00. The restaurants are amazing to eat at and we never had a bad meal. Love having the Beach this close...
We feel very safe staying here. The security guards are friendly, helpful and fun.. The pool and grounds are well looked after and clean. We have meet so many awesome people and Owners.
We would recommend Tres Regalos to all our Family and Friend's.
Gail & Steve
Muchas Gracias, Gail and Steve, for your great review. I will try to find a tray suitable to transport your steaks or fish to the BBQ. I am happy you could enjoy it. It is so fine to drink a cool one and take a dip while your meal is on the grill! Hope to see you again, soon.

Fridge water dispenser has new life form. Dishwasher not working. Sewer smells in unit not pleasant. To have someone come over to swim only if you rent for six months. No problem thou the pool is always cold. Everyone sits around it but only go in for a few minutes at a time. HOA says it's refreshing just a nice way to say we don't heat it. Ran into previous renters on the beach and we were told the same thing. We were told better deals down the beach. PS this the first bad review I have ever given about a unit that we have rented. Cannot recommend. Sorry.
I made special arrangements for this guest to preview the condo in the months before, and he liked it, so he reserved a month. But from the date of his arrival he was very uncommunicative.
After the first week, I asked him how his stay was going. In two sentences he complained of the dishwasher not getting dishes clean and the pool being very cold.
When I offered to have the dishwasher looked at, he did not want my handyman coming in the condo, so he washed the dishes by hand. I replaced the DW with a new one after he departed. I also replaced the water filter on the fridge.
Later, he went on and on about the pool being too cold to go in, although the pool temp at Tres Regalos has never varied much and is never cold. The daytime air temp in Jaco during February is usuallly in the 80’s F, and the water is usually well over that. Others at the pool told Murray that the temp has not varied in six years and no one else has ever complained about it.
He did not follow thru on his confirmed airport transport with my driver who brought him, and only told me he had rented a car the day before he was to depart.
After all the wonderful guests who have loved staying in 502 S, and who found so much to enjoy, I guess I am lucky to have had only one true grouch.
Shortlist this property and don't hesitate to book your spot in paradise
We loved our stay at this property. Everything was as described. The grounds of the property were very nice and well maintained and you feel very secure with the attended gates and the active security. The quality of the accommodations was top notch - large space, quality furniture and appliances, very comfortable beds. The one suggestion I might have is that there were no face towels or wash cloths (each bathroom came with 2 bath towels and a beach towel) and no TP or trash bags, so keep that in mind. The condo was clean, well maintained, had great AC, water, etc. The view from the large balcony is amazing and the beach is superb. The location is on the far north end of Jaco beach, so a little off the beaten path, which we actually quite liked, because Jaco itself can be a little rambunctious. Right outside the complex is a small market with all the essentials, and across the street is a wonderful restaurant El Rincon with phenomenal hand made pizza from a wood burning oven. Forget the Crocs "resort" next door and spend your time at the restaurants in town and on the beach.
I have to give a special shout out to the owner Forest who was so attentive and helpful in providing information and advice to us Costa Rica newbies before the trip. He is such a nice guy and you can tell he just loves the country and making guests fell welcome and confident that they are going to have a wonderful time. He was instrumental in earning this 5 star review, and I don't give fives easily. I will not hesitate to return to this property if I get the chance.
Gracias for your comprehensive and thumbs up review, Berry!
Actually, there are wash clothes. I will look into why none appeared on your dates. We have also replenished the garbage bags. Thanks for your recommendation to fellow Austinites Bill and Maureen, whom you met downtown. We had wine in 502 tonite and they have booked two months next year! Maybe in years after also.
Perfect place to stay in Jaco
This condo has everything. AC (thank goodness!), great location. Just on the end of the town. East to walk in but far enough away that you're not in the middle of everything. The host, Forest, is the best part. He was very available for all of my questions and also offered up many great tips about the town etc. The view is great and the condo is a top floor corner unit which is awesome. The guards at the front gate were always very nice and helpful.
We chose to use Donald to pick us up at the airport (on Forest's recommendation). I'm so glad we did. He was waiting for us, made a few stops along the way (ATM, grocery store etc.) and even brought us up to the condo to make sure we were all set. A perfect way to start the trip. We also used him to ride back to the airport on our departure day.
Donald also made a stop at the crocodile bridge on the way in. That was fun and exciting!
Many thanks for your fine review, mi Amiga! And so speedy! You must have written it while waiting at the San Jose airport!. I hope it was a great Mom and Son together time, and that you will be able to do it again. Your condo by the Tropical Central Pacific, Donald, and your Host await you.
Spectacular place with amazing views
We just loved this place. It is perfect for 2 adult couples. We spotted McCaws in the distant trees in the mornings: 6:45 then again around 7:30 AM. Didn't see them in the PM. The forest hill is not climbable, but is truly beautiful, especially at sunset with the sun setting just behind it. We crossed the small river which was a bit deep and as the tide came in it rose quite a bit. We got wet up to our armpits coming back. It was a great time and your suggestions for restaurants was right on. I got the tuna tower at Grafiti's and it was spectacular. This place was hard to find as it can't be seen from the street. You go to the open air plaza with "Moyo" in lights at the front. It's just 1/2 block left and behind of Tsunami Sushi. There in the back are lots of restaurants, live music and dancing area. We also had great sushi at Tsunami Sushi. The town of Jaco has grown tremendously since we were there 9 years ago. Lots to do and see. Our taxi from Tres Regalas was only $3 to the near side of town. The artentina bakery was hard to spot because trees are covering the sign from the street. It is the second building once you just get to town with dark blue painted exterior. The condo has nice comfortable beds and the view is unbelievable.
Muchas gracias for the fine review, mi amiga, and we look forward to reserving another relaxing stay with fine dining for you all, next year!
Some of the higher end dining places such as Tsunami Sushi and Grafitti, have moved to Jaco Walk, which is a new modern center towards the other end of Jaco. If you have a car, you can park in their common gated lot and stroll around to see them all, as well as the families out enjoying a warm evening. If you are taking a taxi, just say, "Jaco Walk".
You might also try the place right across the road from Tres Regalos, Rincon del Estero. Great seafood. Sea Bass is "Corvina" and Red Snapper is "Pargo". Both are always best bets at CR restaurants. I like Rincon for lunch, when you can see into the jungle from your table.
Yes, you have to time your crossing, watching the tides from the balcony, to most easily get to Monkey Beach. I suggest crossing out where the sea meets the stream.
Another adventure in Ticolandia, and this one is nearby and free!
When there is less water in the stream, children love the challenge of crossing to a jungle beach.
