Central to Placerville and the El Dorado Wineries

Lovely historical home, with lots of rooms. There were only four of us, but the several bathrooms came in handy more than once. Nice patio and really cool rooms that made you consider the house's history. Two small complaints. One was the noise from the nearby freeway, which was really only bad with the doors open. The other was the TV was hard to maneuver. No cable but Netflix, which was okay once we figured out how to use the remotes. Some instructions would be helpful.

Owner's Response: Dear Ellen, As disclosed on our intro: Downtown Placerville sits along freeway 50 (therefore you may hear some freeway noise between the hours of 7am to approx. 9pm, on average). The TV remotes are clearly labeled: TV, DVD and Roku. I am always just a phone call or text away, as stated throughout. *Please note this guest had very poor communication, they did not acknowledge emails, texts or phone calls to let us know of their arrival time or departure, until 24 hours after they had vacated. We also recommend downloading and using the VRBO app which reiterates our access and use instructions. Thank you for staying.

We loved our Placerville Thanksgiving in this beautiful Victorian.

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect backdrop for our 2016 Thanksgiving Apple Hill get away. The home is very clean and the check in was easy. We got to walk down to the shops and dining and really enjoyed the town. LJ was quick to respond to any questions we had and was a pleasure to communicate with. Looking forward to our next visit.

The owner L J was very available and very nice. The home itself is absolutely beautiful and it made our visit memorable. The mattresses in two of the rooms are firm but comfortable, the third room with the double bed that has the crib in the room, seems to be a little bit more firm than the others just as a heads up for those who prefer a bed that is not so firm. My mother and my daughter switched rooms because of the mattress and that resolve the issue both were happy. The home is one which makes you want to sit out on the beautiful porch and have your morning coffee and the patio with the lights and the two barbecues entice one to only barbecue your meals. I would definitely return thank you. T. Jackson

Family Wedding Visit to Placerville

  • 5 of 5

The five of us thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay here. Even in the July heat, we kept pretty cool. The house is charming and spacious, lots of interesting rooms, and it's an easy walk to the historic downtown. Ten thumbs up!

Opportunity to stay in such a cool house doesn't happen often!

  • 5 of 5

Had a quick trip to this house to host a celebration of life for my mom's passing. The house is beautiful! The backyard worked out perfectly for our celebration. The house is clean, huge, and unique. The price, I feel is a deal. The owner, LJ was very helpful, pleasant and accomodating to some special needs. It is kind of fun to look up the old history of the house and see pictures of the changes throughout the years.

Convenient, private, well-run and fun!

  • 5 of 5

We expect clean, comfortable and well-appointed lodging and this property did not disappoint. Bonuses were the combination of convenience and privacy (you can't get much closer to downtown or to the highway, yet it is positioned to feel very private) and the fun of a remodeled turn of the century (20th) Victorian. The owner, LJ, was pleasant, helpful, available and responsive. All in our party recommend this property.
