2 Bedroom/1 Bath On The Weeki Wachee River Across From Weeki Wachee Preserv
About Ben Roberts
My wife Nancy and I, William, live in Polk City, Florida. Nancy is from New Jersey and I was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. We met at the First Baptist Church in West Hollywood, Florida. I served four years in the Air Force. Nancy and I attended the Bible Baptist Seminary now known as Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, Texas. Here we studied for the ministry and I graduated in 1962. We organized a church and Christian School in south Florida where we served for 14 years. From there we moved to Ocala, Florida and organized Abundant Funds, a fund raising company for private Christian Schools serving schools in 24 states. In 2008 Abundant Funds merged with another Christian Company and I went into 'semi' retirement. I still work with Christian Schools part time with a company founded by my youngest son. He handles most of our rentals now. Dr.William Roberts

Why Ben Roberts chose Weeki Wachee Gardens
Nancy and I wanted a place close by to get away from it all and a place where our four sons and their families could enjoy and relax with their families (sixteen grandchildren and two great). The river cabin is also a place we can invite friends on special occasions. We had a choice between the Gulf and the River. Nancy chose the river and it has proven to be an excellent choice. Our cabin on the river offers scenery and relaxation. It is a haven for wildlife and a gorgeous place to kayak. We love sharing it with our children and grandchildren. Dr. William Roberts
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is in a rustic setting on the river. This is a total change of scenery and being on the water is super relaxing. Across the river from the cabin is the Weeki Wachee Preserve where we observe all types of wildlife including a variety of birds. The river is full of many varieties of fish and manatees..

Weeki Wachee Wow
We have stayed at the Rustic River Cabin for years of summer vacations. This year, it was just the same as always: perfect. The cabin interior is comfy and welcoming (and you're not afraid to put your feet up on the coffee table). The central AC is icy cool and the large frig holds tons of food for when you decide to eat in. Every pot, pan, and utensil you can think of is provided for your use, along with a dishwasher for cleanup. This property also boasts a large washer and dryer, so you'll never run out of towels or dry swimmies.
As a plus, the houses on either side of the Rustic River Cabin are inhabited by owners, not renters. So you'll never have to deal with screaming teenagers and loud music unless you bring your own.
The absolute best thing about this retreat is its position on the river instead of a canal. We have stayed on both. The river is preferable to us because of the clear view to the sandy bottom instead of traversing across dark murky water that hides its depth and contents. (Especially if you fear falling in the water.)
If you want to stay here, you'd better check their availability calendar at least 4 months before your trip. The secret is out about this Weeki Wachee wonder.
This place is an awesome little place on the river. The rooms were very clean she had some great kayaks for us to utilize. The property was very well maintained and the river as always was pristine. Very easily accessible and they were very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back
Great Location on the River
Very nice owners. Even brought us a new grill when the old one wore out. Only thing I didn't like was the pull out couch was not useable due to a bad mattress. Sleeps 4 very comfortably, but not 6 as listed as the maximum. WiFi was very useful as our cell phones did not work at this location but once hooked into the WiFi we were able to send and receive calls. Other than the cleaning lady showing up early and making us feel rushed to leave, I highly recommend this rental. We look forward to renting here again in the future.
We loved it!! I rented this cute cabin for a ladies week long trip and is was awesome. The pictures don't do justice to what this cabin really looks like on the inside. We enjoyed the wildlife that visited every day along with the manatees. We will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Location on Weeki Wachee River!!
Went Memorial Day weekend. Lots of kayakers and lots of fun! Cabin is great, outside is misleading. It is very nice on inside. Location is why we chose it. No complaints whatsoever.
You can't judge a book by its cover
You can't judge a book by its cover. The place is much nicer inside than it appears from the outside.
Our cabin is located directly on the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River at one of the widest parts of the river. It is across from the Weeki Wachee preserve where you will experience the wildlife and beauty of Florida’s Nature Coast. It’s Florida at its finest with our two new, gorgeous inviting docks (24x24 / 8x24) to view our animal neighbors: manatees, river otters, herons, ibis, and eagles frequent the river both at our docks and across the river on the Weeki Wachee Preserve. See the fish clear to the bottom and swim with the gentle manatees that make daily treks by our home. Only 20 minutes by boat to the Gulf of Mexico. Bring your boat, canoe, kayak or paddle board, or just rent them nearby. You may also want to visit the Weeki Wachee Springs State Waterpark with the world-famous LIVE MERMAID SHOW and Weeki Wachee Canoe rentals (15 minutes), the white sand beach at Pine Island on the Gulf (20 minutes), Rogers Park, 3 acre sandy beach on the Weeki Wachee has roped off swimming area, volley ball court, playground, boat ramp, and kayak ramp. (5 minutes). At the end of the day you can cook your own catch on the cabin gas grill and lounge on the two docks or dine at one of many great local restaurants. Within 20 minutes you can choose from two state parks equipped with pavilions, picnic benches, grills and fishing spots. Fishing boats for deep fishing in the Gulf are also available. Just an hour north of Tampa and St. Petersburg and minutes from Hernando Beach, restaurants, and shopping.
