Barely an hour’s drive from Toronto, this charming waterfront cottage feels like a real escape. Nestled out on a point off a private lane, we just rebuilt ... now we have a contemporary 3 bedroom, open concept cottage with an amazing covered back deck. Great room and dining room with wood burning fireplace. Luxury bathroom and a cook's kitchen. Lake views are amazing. Located on the South-Eastern shore of Lake Simcoe you will witness sunsets so stunning you will think you are on the ocean. Watch the sun go down from the big picture window, or take a cocktail down to the deck and say cheers to the seagulls that come to dance at every sunset. Waves can get big and beautiful after a storm but most of the time the water is calm and kid-friendly.
The soft pebble beach starts off shallow and descends gradually, perfect for swimmers of all ages. The cottage itself is artfully decorated, with an open concept living room with fireplace & cathedral ceiling combined with the dining room over looking the with a large harvest table (comfortably seats 8) and every well appointed kitchen, amazing marble clad bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The master has a king bed, the other 2 have a double bed. There is also a small bunky down by the lake with bunk-beds , great for teens who need a bit of space!

Liam McQuade purchased this cottage in 2000
This is one of the best windsurfing spots in Ontario. In about an hour from downtown you can be on a big lake with some of the best sunsets in the world. Quiet without being overly remote. It is even a viable commute for those who work in the city.
My husband and I enjoyed a perfect September weekend getaway at this terrific vacation rental. Liam, the owner, responds quickly and is friendly and helpful. The property is private with gorgeous views over Lake Simcoe. Day 1 - stunning sunset. Day 2 - spectacular storm. The kitchen with gas stove is a cook's delight. There's also a good bbq on the covered porch. There are nice linens on the beds and the modern bathroom is excellent. Our son, who lives in Toronto, joined us for a night - from the bustling city to a private retreat in an hour. Couldn't have been any better!
We loved this thoughtfully decorated and well-appointed cottage. Perfect amount of space inside the cottage with it's large open concept kitchen/living area and three bedrooms, with very comfortable beds. The large grassy lot is great for young children, and very safe. There is a small pebble beach with access to the lake, and this was also perfect for small kids. We appreciated all the water toys and had tons of fun on the lake, which was clear, weed-free, and warm. We had both rainy and sunny days during our week at the cottage and enjoyed the watching the storms and waves, as well as swimming when the water was calm and peaceful. The proximity to Toronto is amazing and there are many small towns within easy driving distance of the cottage. We got groceries in Beaverton but recommend trying Uxbridge for specialty coffee (Nexus Coffee) and charming indie book shop (Blue Heron Books). Liam is very helpful and knowledgeable, and made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
We were there for a week in july and it was fantastic! The site is beautiful, clean and relaxing.
The house has everythings you need and the owner is very attentive to your need.
The sunset is beautiful, sometime amazing.
Aldo there is no AC, the house stay cool with the lake breeze.
Easily reached from Toronto and superb location for a complete switch off. House had everything we needed and nearby town supplied us with all our grocery needs.
Really enjoyed our time on the lake ( kayaking, wake boarding & motor boating ). Highly recommended.
Absolutely excellent!! Liam the owner was patient and knowledgeable with answering questions. The lake house was beautifully decorated and spotless. the view was phenomenal, the backyard and levels of nooks on the way down to the shoreline was a surprise.the fire pit was excellent and the barbecue was perfect.the weather was great. the swimming was amazing with a pebble beach and no weeds. the seagulls danced on the waves in the evening which made me quite nostalgic for home. the water was perfect as we went in quite frequently. the sunsets were ocean like and it literally took my breath away. it was the most relaxing time we've had in years can't wait to come back!!!!
We rented this fabulous cottage for a weekend with a group of girlfriends and enjoyed every minute of it. I loved it when you entered through large iron gates and follow the road to a very private property. It is decorated with amazing antiques with a nice contemporary flair with a stunning kitchen and bathroom. We really enjoyed all the details. The beds were very comfortable as well! It was so nice being right on the water able to watch the sunsets. This place is so accessible to Toronto so not a long drive to get there or come home. I would definitely recommend this cottage! We will be back for our "Big Chill" weekend again! Thanks!
