About Bob and Cathy Cavanagh

We have had several experiences with rental properties when we lived on Long Island. We moved to Vermont permanently in September 2012, but had been coming here for quite a few years. We love the area & all of the seasons.

Bob and Cathy Cavanagh purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Bob and Cathy Cavanagh chose Vermont

We purchased this property because, the first time we drove down this road, the yard was beautiful & we thought, if this property ever goes on the market, we would love to buy it. A few years later, it went on the market & we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase it. We have been traveling to Vermont for over 20 years. We have always loved the unique beauty of all of the seasons.

When we first bought the house, we were only able to come up for vacations and long weekends, as we were working on Long Island & had family obligations there. We have since, retired and have been able to make it our home.

The Roaring Branch is beautiful in every season. Listening to the water run is most soothing.

After we moved here, we decided to continue a project started by the previous owner. We completely renovated the cottage. It is homey & still has the charm it was meant to have.

So cute! The pictures don't do it justice

Bob and Cathy have a beautiful cottage and were very accommodating. They provided us with toiletries, treats, bottled water, coffee, etc. to make us feel at home during our stay.

We couldn't have asked for anything more!

Thank you so much Bob and Cathy!

Fantastic!

Wonderful location, extremely comfortable and cozy accommodations. Bob and Cathy couldn't have been nicer, or made us feel more welcome! The 30ish minute ride to Stratton is actually very pretty, highly recommended!

Clean, nice and welcoming. Also a good location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this cottage. It is very clean and warm. Kathy and Bob were nice and even left us wine and chocolates for New Year's Eve. There are 8 ski resorts within an hour drive so very convenient for skiers like us. The cottage is also located in the forest by a mountain spring that you can hear as soon as you get out. It was the perfect retreat and we might go back for the foliage season.

Cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is exactly as shown in the photos, and very well taken care of. The kitchen is fully equipped and bedroom large enough for two queen size beds. Bob and Cathy thought of every detail and went beyond what was expected, by even buying goodies for our kids. We had a really nice break.

Nice place

  • 3 of 5

It was a nice, clean bungalow, however, my biggest problem was having the bath on the first floor. I was too small and inconvenient.
