Spacious, clean, comfortable and ideally located

  • 5 of 5

This rental consists of two units (upper and lower), with access to a shared laundry room on the ground floor. It is set on a steep hillside off the road between Pearl City in the south of the island and the towns on the north shore and is ideally located for road trips around the island. The worst traffic we encountered (we didn't go into Honolulu, as this was our second time on Oahu) was on the road between Haleiwa and Waimea, as people looked for parking along the road at one of the many beaches along the road. It was perfectly located for visiting our daughter's family in Mililani.

Road noise is audible but not bothersome. The property has a large flat lawn on one side and is surrounded by tropical plants. The upper unit, which we (husband, wife, two young adults) rented for 8 days, has a large, airy great room/kitchen with a sectional sofa that fit the four of us sitting. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and dishes and a large refrigerator but no dishwasher. There are four stools at the kitchen counter and a table for four outside on the large balcony/lanai. The upper unit had a gas grill on the balcony, while the lower unit had what appeared to be a charcoal grill. Wifi was available via a hotspot located in the laundry room; while the lower unit was empty, we were allowed to plug it in upstairs in order to improve the signal.

Everything was clean and appeared well cared for. The only problem we had was that it was very hot in the unit when we arrived in the evening, and we had to close all the windows, turn on the wall AC in the master bedroom and blow the cold air into the smaller bedroom with a fan to make it cool enough to be comfortable (no AC unit in that bedroom). When we texted Pam upon our arrival, she told us where to find a fan and promised to come by the next day. The next morning, she noticed that someone had closed the windows in the loft area above the kitchen. Once we opened them, the place became cool enough to allow us to sleep with open windows and a small fan we purchased and placed in the window of the small bedroom. It does get hot inside during the day, so if you want to have AC 24/7, this is not the ideal place for you. If you like to feel the breeze, hear the birds, watch the light and the clouds shift across the mountains and be ideally located for trips to all parts of the island, this is the place to be. And Pam couldn't be friendlier or more responsive. Mahalo!

Our stay at the cliff house in north shore in Hawa

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly how it was advertised. The house was clean and spacious, and everything was updated. We had 6 people and everyone had plenty of space yet very cozy. We made breakfast every morning out on the lanai. The view was spectacular with the mountain range and the property was huge to explore. The north shore was only about a 20 minute ride with lots of beach activities to do, also we went snorkeling with the sharks in a shark cage. Saw sea turtles at a local beach. Waimea Valley and visited the water fall. Plenty of local food trucks and restaurants for the Hawaiian flavor. Now the other side of the island was Waikiki beach with surfing, Diamond Head State Monument, Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, and a must see Germaine's luau. What a blast! Waikiki has plenty of restaurants and shops. What a great family vacation that will be talked about for a long time. Thank you again Pam for letting us in on your Hawaii paradise.

Lovely Home

  • 4 of 5

My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. It is in a good location, not too far from the beach. It has a gorgeous, large kitchen and living area. Very nice bedrooms. Wonderful. The lanai is absolutely divine, huge, plenty of wonderful seating and so gorgeous, staring at the view and the eucalyptus trees. While it was quiet much of the time, they were repaving the main road, and the trucks they were using for some of the work were on the property, creating more noise, and taking away from the privacy. I'm sure that is just a fluke, but I had to mention it.

A couple of suggestions: get a more comfortable couch/sectional; the cushions kept sliding off. One more thing; start a collection of DVD movies. I'll bet you could find them inexpensively at garage sales/ used. We would have liked that. Other than that, wonderful!!

My 2 girls (ages 25 & 13) and my husband and I hired North Shore Surf Girls to teach us to surf. It's something I've wanted to do for about 10 years. I am not a water person at all, and I, even I was able to stand up on the surf board. 3 times! I'd highly recommend them. We had Kat- fabulous! http://northshoresurfgirls.com

Thanks, Pam!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying here. We have family in Haleiwa so the location is great. The house is clean and beautiful. The lanai is great for morning coffee and the view is gorgeous. The property it self is amazing. We will be back next year. Thank you Pam for a great stay.

Beautiful property in peaceful location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful stay in a 'out of the way' location I had no idea even existed on Oahu. Beautiful, clean house full of amenities, and a quick drive to anything we wanted to do. Reservation/check in was handled effortlessly and professionally. We've used VRBO all over the world; this was one of the best experiences. Thanks Pam! We can't wait to come back.

Amazing cliff house. 5 minutes to Haleiwa town and 7 minutes to the most amazing beaches with turtles Lanikea's. This house sits on acreage all by itself Close to shopping and restaurants. Don't need to worry about traffic. Very private and secluded. Close enough to the beaches and restaurants but far enough away from traffic and people.

Notes:
This home is really one of a kind. It is the only home that sits on the valley that overlooks hundreds of acres of land. It is conveniently located right before Haleiwa and Wailua town. So you are right next to everything but far enough away. The home is very private and has been set up for your comforts. It is a great place for families and a great crash pad for surfers. The whole property has just been thru a re-do. We just planted grass and lots of palms trees as well as a private gate at the entry. There is a big covered lanai where you will find a gas grill. After a fun and long day on the beach you can kick back and watch the sunset. At night you will enjoy the darkness under hundreds of stars. You can rent the upstair unit or both! To see pictures of the downstairs unit. Look up listing VRBO # 606662. Also available in Haleiwa is a 1 bedroom one bath. The listing # 446399.
