Excellent cabin! Very comfortable with beautiful views of the lake. Very peaceful and restful. There were 6 of us and we had more than enough room. The guys could fish and the ladies could visit and relax on the deck. We were close enough to Pigeon Forge to enjoy and then return to the cabin. The game room was a big hit with the guys! There are several steps to access the cabin and the lake.

Beautiful Cabin, beautiful lake... but ask if the dock has been repaired before booking

  • 4 of 5

Let me start by saying the current owner, Steve, was extremely helpful. He went out of his way to accommodate us after learning the dock was not serviceable and repairs were being delayed. He made the neighboring dock available to us (which was actually 100 times more easily accessible) but I doubt that will always be an option. He was also very responsive to emails, texts, or phone calls and we very much appreciated his attention to detail throughout the cabin. Very comfortable and well stocked. This is a secluded cabin and provides plenty of privacy both day and night. The furniture and beds are all comfortable and well maintained, as are the appliances and accessories. The lake is magnificent, the view of the lake, spectacular. Once it cools off outside, you can enjoy the spacious decks (x2) or take a dip in the well maintained hot tub. Plenty of room inside for everyone. The game-room, which includes an older style but functional TV, a bar and a level regulation size pool table is fantastic. We loved it. You can launch your boat at one of several nearby ramps or marinas and even leave your trailer there (for a $10 a day/$50 per week fee).

All that said, be advised, the walk down to the dock is no joke. The walk back up is tough. Plan accordingly. Bring a backpack and pack it well. If you're over 50, you won't want to go back up more than once a day (if that). Also be advised, this cabin is under contract and in the process of getting a new owner. Not sure what that means in terms of what you can expect. All I can say is the current owner was the best. I will also say that while we were there the internet was very spotty and when it was functional, it was very slow. Likely can't be helped but the seclusion was very much worth the trade. And watch out for the spiders; there's quite a few. Lastly, there is a VERY TIGHT 170 degree turn on the way in (cannot be avoided). If you have a crew cab truck and are pulling a boat or trailer over 20 ft, it can be difficult. Now, all this said, don't be discouraged. it is a very nice place. We enjoyed it very much and if not for our relatively light haul of fish, we might still be there... And, if not for the issue with the dock, I would have gladly rated it with 5 stars.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Great property to stay at. Deck on the home faces the east to catch the sunrises. The dock at the water faces to the west to catch the sunsets. The home sits with a great view of the lake as well. Plenty of room from for 6 adults and 4 kids. The owners keep this place up... five stars!!!!

Eagles Nest is the BEST!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family dearly loved Eagle's Nest Cabin. The house was beautiful, clean and cozy!! We only wished we could have stayed longer. The view was beautiful and the house was fully equipped with everything we needed for a great summer vacation. Nothing like a evening by the fire roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. The swing and hot tub was very nice as we set in them and gazed out over the lake. This is a wonderful place for families wanting to reconnect and enjoy a summer vacation full of laughs and fun. We had a blast as we shot pool in the evenings after playing on the lake with the nearby H2O pontoons, jet skis and knee boards during the day. We had a beautiful week thanks to the nice owners who were there to help us with all our wants and needs. We are so glad they shared their house with us!!!

This cabin was very accommodating. We cooked several meals and had everything we needed. The towels were plenty and also a nice quality. We had a couple issues which were easily and quickly addressed. These owners were great! We will be back to Douglas Lake.

Great cabin to get away from it all

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was just as pictured on the website. It was a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed our time here immensely. The decks were great to hang out on, get some sun and relax. The kids loved the hot tub and the downstairs game room.

This cabin is very isolated if that is what you are seeking, but still only 15 minutes to Dandridge.
