Overview

About the property

4 B&B luxury rooms and one self catering cottage.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you in our home in Normandy.

At the minute you enter the long driveway leading to le Manoir, time stops immediately and you will be filled with a sense of serenity.

You will find happiness here, in this 18th century old manor proudly sitting on 17 acres of land and landscaped gardens where you will find hidden pathes and a lake surrounded by gorgeous trees.

Accommodation :

"Le Manoir de Herouville" our bed & breakfast, where you will find 4 very large en-suite bedrooms.

"La Coulombe" is a 18th Century old dovecote located in the same property as le Manoir..

This dovecote is a self catering holiday and sleeps up to 5 guests.

Both la Coulombe and Le Manoir sets in extensive gardens and grounds. Ideally located for D-Day Beaches and Norman history battlefield tours there are award winning golf courses and restaurants within easy reach.

Serene and beautiful Le Manoir de Herouville is a perfect gem set in 17 acres of gardens and paddocks amidst quiet rural countryside. Bordered by the magnificent Fôret de Cerisy which offers possibilities for walking, riding and cycling and nestling midway between the ancient Norman towns of Saint Ló and Bayeux it is an ideal location to get away from the cares and stresses of daily life and relax in elegant style.

It is easily accessible from the Channel ports of Caen/Ouistreham and Cherbourg and Caen Carpiquet airport.

The 'Coulombe' was the Manoir dove cot and its size possibly denoted the social standing of the original builders, now renovated it has been turned into a charming hideaway for 2 or 5 persons. The mezzanine top floor is a triple bedroom with views over the extensive ponds and gardens, the middle floor is a double bedroom with en-suite modern shower room and the ground floor has a small but well equipped kitchen, dining area and a seating area with television and dvd player.

The Coulombe is used as a self catering holiday cottage, there is a private barbecue situated immediately outside the gite door and charcoal is available from the main house.

There is also a barbecue and garden furniture sited at the lake which all guests are welcome to use for cooking or picnics. Why not fish for carp, barbecue and have a few beers during the long warm summer evenings.

Positioned astride the June 1944 boundary between 1st US Army and 2nd British Army, close to the airborne landings, invasion beaches, and major sites of the Battle of Normandy, Le Manoir d'Hérouville is ideally located for tours of the Normandy battles.

If you are interested in the history of the D Day Invasion but only have a short time to spend in Normandy why not ask us to arrange your tour. Collection by a highly recommended and enthusiastic tour guide is then followed by a full day bespoke private tour which covers the topics which are of interest to you.

The only place to stay in Normandy.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday here a few weeks ago and will be back for sure. This place is really the real deal and as beautiful as in all the picture. The tennis court is just outstanding and our children spent most of their time on the court playing basketball and tennis.

We were lucky to be able to also stay in La Colombe as we had a big group with my Brother and his family who joined us from Canada. They also loved this quite and unique place. The Location on Le Manoir de Herouville is perfect for the Dday sites and also Le Mont St Michel. The Gardens around Le Manoir are wonderful and very well maintained and great place to relax after a long day sight seeing.Catherine mentioned that next year they will also have a Swimmig pool.

We honestly could not have wished for more and Michael and Catherine were just wonderful host.

If you plan to stay in Normandy we recommend this wonderful place.

Heaven of French Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a Short Easter break were we stayed at Le Manoir De Herouville's 18th Century Gite.

What an amazing stay.Location is very close to Bayeux and the d day site yet it is perfectly positioned to feel you are hidden from the world.

The Round tower that was formally a house for Doves has been renovated into a self contain cottage and what a cool place to stay.We spent most of our time there relaxing in the gardens. It's still a little fresh in the evenings in Normandy so Michael the owner supplied us with a basket of wood to use on the lovely open fire.

If you are planning a visit to this lovely part of the world I can really recommend a Stay at this fantastic Manoir and it's wonderful location.

Outstanding Stay

  • 5 of 5

We used Le Manoir de Herouville as our Base while we stayed in Normandy and could not have been happier. As we entered the walled entrance and drove down the long drive way to Le Manoir we could not keep the children in the Car and our family holiday had started.Tow of the owners horses greeted our children and as Catherine shown us around the fabulous property our children were no longer with us and were in the Back garden enjoying the Trampoline and Tennis Court.

Our room was on the very top floor of the house and was huge with a Large Bath room with both bath and Shower.

Breakfast both morning was freshly prepared by Michael and Catherine and the fresh eggs from Le Manoirs free range chickens were delicious. The only problem we had was getting our children in the car on our departure. One of our best family holidays and we hope to return to Normandy one day and come back to this wonderful B+B.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY IN NORMANDY!!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 stayed in La Columbe, the Dove Cote- it was very charming and exactly what we were looking for while staying in the countryside of France. Micheal and Catherine were welcoming and very helpful with suggestions for activities and dinner. We would happily stay here again!
