Welcome to our beautiful lakefront home on Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Broaddus, TX. This lake house is perfect for anglers, hunters, and families and the price cannot be beat. Located less than five minutes from Broaddus, TX and the Jackson Hill Marina you will be close to stores, restaurants, and boat access while still feeling you are away from it all. Zavalla is twelve miles away and Cassels-Boykin public access is only ten miles away.

Walk less than one hundred feet and you are at the shore of a sheltered cove that is great for swimming, fishing and boating. Photography and birding possibilities abound, regularly seen are bald eagles, cranes, egrets, hawks, turtles, otters, and deer.

For the anglers we have tried to meet all of your needs: conveniently located exterior outlets for charging your equipment, fish cleaning station, and shoreline tie-offs for your boat if you so desire. The fishing here is amazing as well, with large-mouth and other assorted bass, crappie, gar and catfish waiting to hit your lines.

For the kids and young at heart we have tons of board games, card games, and a washers pit out back. Not to mention our fire pit where hot dogs and marshmallows find their proper tasty end.

About Erin

A group of friends bought this wonderful lake house home to share with their family and friends. Our eldest partner is a decorated Vietnam veteran who has many kids and grand-kids who enjoy the cabin. The two other partners are a dedicated couple who love to fish and participate in competition BBQ and chili cook-offs (Viva Terlingua!).

Erin purchased this house in 2013

Why Erin chose Broaddus

We chose this property because of the lakefront location and view first and foremost. The house has windows front to back so you never feel separated from the great outdoors. The property is newly renovated with all new appliances and interior decorations so it perfectly combines the feel of a quaint cabin with modern luxury. We can't forget to mention the cove the property sits on as it is one of the best fishing coves on the lake. We routinely see tournament fisherman casting directly at our shoreline and catching big bass.

What makes this house unique

This is truly a lakefront property, not just a lake view. We have added some unique additions to enhance your stay like a fire pit with recycled pine tree seats, washers pits, a fish cleaning station and an outdoor heated shower.

Sweet cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have vacationed here twice, and plan on returning next year! The cabin is right on a cove, and we love using the pedal boat. House stayed nice and cool, and was fully stocked, which made our stay even better. The owner is very friendly and easy to work with. Love the back porch!!

Awesome little lake house!

  • 5 of 5

A group of buddies and myself stayed 3 nights for a fishing tournament and all loved the lay out. All of the ammenities you need inside but we spent most of the time catching fish from the back yard and nature watching. We actually saw a bald eagle land close by. Very cool! When we come back to Rayburn we’ll definitely try to book this house again.

Pretty nice

  • 3 of 5

Property was nice, view of the lake and back porch was amazing. The house was well stocked with anything and everything you need. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The power did go out our first night for about 5 hours and got hot inside of the cabin and I could not get any of the windows to open. The water was coming out of the faucets was brown so when my wife Took a bath it was brown water and it kind of put her off. Overall it was a nice place but maybe a little overpriced for what it is. With all of that being said I would probably stay here again just cause the area is so nice and quiet.

Owner's Response: Justin, thank you for the many positive comments about our lake cabin. We are glad you found the house and property amazing, quiet and comfortable and that you had “anything and everything” needed to enjoy your lake getaway! Sorry to hear the power went out; that is an unfortunate, infrequent occurrence in the area and the Deep East Co-op does a great job of getting power restored quickly. Since yours is the first report of brown water I’m inclined to think it may be related to the power outage and possibly having sediment settle in the neighborhood well while there was no power to the pump. The water pumped from the well to all the houses in the neighborhood is tested monthly and we have never been notified of negative results. In any event, we will most certainly report your concern to the water authorities. As far as not being able to get any of the windows open, quite frankly I’m having a hard time understanding why that would be. There are 22 windows in the house and we had many of them open when we were there just three days before your stay…perhaps you weren’t aware they were locked and can be easily unlocked by sliding the latch on top of the window. You mentioned the house may be overpriced but I can assure you for a lakefront property that you describe as “amazing”, “very clean and comfortable”, “nice and quiet” and “well stocked” our cabin is one of the most reasonably priced options in the area as a simple VRBO search will show. We also have generous discounts for “off-season” (which you paid) and long-term reservations. As we do with all our guests we provide phone numbers and email addresses for our guests to reach us in case they need anything. If we had heard from you during your stay we could have had our handyman come to the house to assist with any trouble you were having but we didn’t hear from you until you submitted your review. When I sent you the instructions for entering the house I specifically wrote “Should you have any issues that come up please feel free to contact us.” We are unable to remedy an issue during a stay when it’s not communicated to us. For all the other folks reading this, we stand by our outstanding customer service as evidenced by all of our five star reviews. We go out of our way to make long lasting relationships with our guests and many have become close friends. This wouldn't be possible if we were non-attentive owners. We hope this review is taken in context. Regards.

Long Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed together as a family for a total of 4 days and had a great time. The house was fully stocked with towels, dishes, linens, and supplies. The beds were comfortable and we especially loved the deck and being able to sit out and look at the lake. Plenty of stuff to do inside at night with tv, movies, and games in the nice A/C. This is a great place to get away and spend time with your family unplugged! We will definitely visit again. The accommodations were comfortable.
