About the property

Beautifully Restored Home 1/2 Block off of Downtown

Built in 1908, this home is one of the finest homes built and restored in Fruita! Five generations have enjoyed the company of friends and family in this home and now the original family welcomes you to enjoy it too!

Located in downtown Fruita across from festival central, this homes location cannot be beat! Just a half a block off of downtown, you are seconds away from Aspen Street Coffee, The Hot Tomato, Copper Club Brewing Company, Over the Edge Sports and Colorado Backcountry Biker (CBB). Just a half a mile away is the towns grocery store and Walgreens. You will be in the middle of it all!

Seven separate twin beds and one pull out couch ensure that you will not have to double up with your best buddy. If you are arriving with couples, we can accommodate that also by converting any two of the twins to a comfortable king bed. All mattresses are upgraded memory foam ensuring you will sleep in sweet slumber during your stay and both the downstairs and upstairs have been upgraded in 2016 with their own A/C system to keep you cool during the warmer summer nights of Fruita.

A beautiful grass back yard with patio furniture and a BBQ grill await you after a long day playing outside. It is a wonderful place to enjoy your family and friends, throw a football and watch the sun set to the west.

As always with Fruita CrashPad, cable and wifi are included. In addition, a washer and dryer (laundry supplies provided) ensure your clothing is always fresh. We even have a clothesline for hanging needs. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and linens are also provided. Just bring your suitcase, groceries and your gear - we have taken care of the rest!

Press the Book It Now button to your left for a detailed quote and we look forward to hosting your stay in one of our finest Fruita CrashPads!

About Michelle Melgares

My name is Michelle and I own Fruita CrashPad a vacation rental management company in Fruita, Colorado. I grew up in the area and feel very fortunate to get to call it home. I love cycling and want to share the great things this community has to offer with the world. If you can do it outdoors, you can do it within 45 minutes of Fruita. Skiing and wine country tourism too!

Why Michelle Melgares chose Fruita

I feel honored to manage this home for Gram's Family. They have occupied it since it was built and enjoyed five generations of family here - if these walls could talk! I was excited to add it to our inventory of homes because of its high quality finishes and furnishings - not to mention the proximity to downtown Fruita.

Great little house in town

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year staying in this home for a week and we love it. Very clean, great WIFI, walking distance to downtown, bike storage, 2 TV rooms and responsive host. Can't wait until next year.

Mtn Biking home base

  • 5 of 5

Guys mtn biking trip to Fruita. Love this little town and Hot Tomatoes for lunch/dinner and Aspen St Coffee for breakfast. There were four of us but this house can accommodate plenty more. The bike racks inside are nice to have but don't fit today's fatter tires. Backyard was a nice place to recover with a beer or two. The guys at Over The Edge bike shop can tune and setup a bike like no one else...everything was spot on. We rode Kokopelli loops, a few of the 18 Road trails and also made the hour and a half drive to Moab. All of the trails we rode were amazing and this house was a perfect home base for our activities. The owner was accommodating and a pleasure to work with and quick to respond to any needs/questions.

Great location, easy access to everything we needed

  • 3 of 5

Whole house gave us plenty of room, with a coulple layout problems in this vintage house. Unfortunately both bathrooms were on lower floor. Two bedrooms upstairs had to come down steep stairs to bathrooms. Back bedroom is only accessible by walking through front bedroom. Beds were comfortable and bèdtooms had plenty of room. Wish Livingroom had more furniture, only a sofa and one chair. Dining room and kitchen were grest.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Kathryn! We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our little town. While this home was built in 1910, during a time when our needs were a little different, we really commend the family (owners) for doing such a beautiful job with every detail of this full restoration and we really love all of the charm it has. The layout and refinished original woodwork typical of craftsman style homes is really something special. We regret that the home did not meet your groups needs.

Grandma's house was perfect for our weekend reunion for my mothers 90th birthday party. plenty of room for all ten of us. Loved the farmers market right across the street on Saturday morning. We had a tasty breakfast at Good Eats just a block away. Fruita is a quant little town with lots of friendly people.

It's not Frueeeeeeta...

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Fruita! We spent 6 days in the area and came for the Country Jam concert. We were able to uber back and forth to the concert so that was a bonus. This house made our stay absolutely perfect. It is located just a block off the main street in this quiet little town. "Food Truck Friday" at the park on the corner was an unexpected and lovely treat. (Razzleberry pie for dinner) We sat on the bench in our front yard and listened to the music. We enjoyed the shops in town. All the local shop owners know Michelle (property manager) and made us feel welcome. We loved being able to walk out the back gate to the pizza shop. Also, quiche sells out early at the coffee shop two doors down. Lots of cute restaurants to choose from and pretty much everything is walking distance. Grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, gift shops.

We had everything we needed at the house. Washer, dryer, iron, dishwasher, plenty of good towels, basic toiletries. The kitchen is well stocked compared to other vrbo homes we've stayed in. (Spices...thank you!!!!) It was really hot upstairs the first night we were there. I texted Michelle around 8:30 pm to ask if a fan was available and she brought one right over to us. Seriously, that was supersweet!! (After that, the a/c kept it cool and keeping the upstairs door closed did make a difference.) We loved playing Yahtzee under the shade tree in the backyard - it was breezy and hot and summery and we all felt right at home. (The chickens in the yard behind us loved it, too!)

Monument National Park is a short drive from the house, 10-15 min. The views are stunning! We visited a couple wineries and a microbrewery with great food in Palisades. We found a Target in Grand Junction.

All in all, it was an excellent trip! Thanks for the hospitality, Gram!! Your home is lovely and the vacation was truly a special one. Four friends since grade school celebrating 55 yrs...this was a good choice!

Fruita is an outdoor enthusiast’s haven! We are a world class destination for mountain biking, road cycling, white water rafting, hiking, dinosaur tourism and of course if you climb... you must climb Independence Rock in our back yard, the Colorado National Monument. Fruita is also home to a brand new Community Center with exercise facilities, basketball courts, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and much more! Our mild climate makes this a popular destination year round, but we must say that spring and fall are the best times to come see us! Enjoy one of our many festivals, come to listen to music at Country Jam or Rock Jam, or just come to tour the vineyards in nearby Palisade. Whenever you come, we know you are gonna love it!
