About the property

1 Bedroom Cottage, Comfortably Accommodates 4 Persons.

Greetings! Please read though the following description closely. It describes the property very well.

With my cabin, you'll enjoy the uniqueness of a vacation getaway near the heart of the village of Saranac Lake, but only minutes by boat from the Adirondack wild. This is the perfect location that has an appeal for everyone. Shops and venues are close by, and the lake and all if it's wonders are at your doorstep.

Property was thoroughly renovated in 2013, equipped with a completely new kitchen and all new furnishings, all professionally maintained. The Lake Flower Log Cabin boasts a large open living and dining room with a queen size sofa bed, one bedroom with a queen size bed. The cabin is meticulously appointed in an Adirondack style, with comfortable furnishings and appealing forest and lake themed decorations. A garden patio is just outside the rear doorway with a BBQ grill, chimera and patio table and chairs. Across the street, there is a waterfront area is available for your use with dock space provided for a boat, if you should bring or rent one for your stay (there is however a canoe provided for your use). The Lake Flower Log Cabin is a waterfront property, located on Route 86 (Lake Flower Avenue), a busy primary residential street which lies between the cabin and the waterfront. PLEASE NOTE THAT I LOOK TO MAINTAIN THE PREMISES AS A SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT, INSIDE AND OUT. Check in is at 4 PM and check out is at 11 AM.

About Mark Ellis

I have lived in the Adirondacks most of my life and in 1993, I bought my home in Saranac Lake. I had two wonderful elderly neighbors that lived in this cabin next door to me. It wasn't very long before we developed a wonderful friendship that lasted for many years until their recent passing. I was very happy to have the opportunity to acquire the cabin and continue the care and love of this home, cherished by my neighbors. The cabin needed a lot of updating, but a lot of the original is preserved. It has been a wonderful project and am thrilled to share it with those coming to the area.

Mark Ellis purchased this cabin in 2013

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 5 days at this cottage last week and it was relaxing and completely enjoyable! The cottage is immaculately clean and stocked with everything you could need or want. It's decorated comfortably and we felt at home immediately. The weather swung from very chilly mornings to afternoon temps in the 80s but the owner had us completely covered as there was an electric fireplace and extra blankets for chilly mornings, and air conditioning for the warmer periods of time. The setting couldn't be more beautiful on the shores of Lake Flower. We could sit inside in a comfy chair or at the table and look out at the serene lake. Or, we could be closer to the lake and sit in the front yard or even down by the lake shore in the chairs provided. A canoe and kayaks were available for our use as well and were in very good condition. We took advantage of the canoe on a couple occasions and enjoyed the lake up close. There are many delicious restaurants a very short drive away or even several within walking distance. We didn't expect to find gourmet (but comfortable and very casual) dining in this small town but we definitely did! (Dining out was our choice; there was a very well stocked kitchen if we'd chosen to cook). Located in the heart of Adirondack Park, there were many hiking opportunities within a reasonable drive as well and we were able to do 1 or 2 hikes each day. The owner is friendly and was responsive to our questions about the area. The pictures of the house and location are completely accurate. You can't go wrong staying at this property.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

Upon entering the cabin, we were stunned by the immaculate condition. Never have we seen a cabin so clean. The cabin is tastefully decorated and we relaxed immediately. All the amenities are there including a washer dryer. Mark is readily available. Don't miss the opportunity to go inside the shed where his camera obscura is set-up. With approximately only 50 of these left in the world it is a rare find and a true treat. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Cute little cabin with awesome owner.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is the perfect size, super clean and with a beautiful kitchen. Owner Mark is very accommodating and responded to texts and emails quickly. The only downside I see is for couples with small children. This is on a major road with lots of traffic so safety may be a concern if your kids are on the run. I do want to mention we could barely hear any road noise in bedroom and bed was comfy.

We will be back!

Cozy, updated, clean

  • 5 of 5

Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here (for a week)

we wanted something small, cozy, close to everything in the area. it was perfect for us.

pros:

can sit on your own waterfront

REAL full kitchen, everything you need to cook (grill, dishwasher, all utensils/pans/pots etc.)

Netflix enabled TV/wifi in the cabin

kayaks/canoe available

comfy bed

CLEAN - and newer appliances, kitchen, bathroom etc.

Space (for 2 people) more than enough for us.

Driving distance to Lots of restaurants (10+ within 5-10mins) another 20+ within 30mins.

Driving distance to see lake placid, mountains, parks, theater, farmers markets, etc.

walking distance to ice cream! :)

Cons (not big deals for us, but could be for some):

You are right off the main road, backing out of driveway or the noise could bother people

Road is between you and the waterfront, again not an issue for us.

There is other houses/driveways nearby - probably don't want curtains opened for privacy.

Thanks so much!
