Very unique schoolhouse circa 1850, which held classes until 1967, was a community center until 1983 and now is renovated as a vacation home.

Numerous cross country skiing and snow shoe trails in the area. Route 155 is 1/4mile away and gives access to Magic Mountain, Bromley and Stratton, all within 50 minutes. Route 103 north accesses Pico and Killington within 45 minutes.

The downstairs has open kitchen, dining and living room space. Very bright with atrium doors to deck, many windows and a wood stove. There are also 3 bedrooms with 2 full baths and half bath on the lower level.
The upstairs has open sitting area at top of curved staircase. There are 3 bedrooms with a full bathroom.
There is also a HUGE game room with a ping pong table, pool table, foosball table and large TV for watching movies and of course, a large black board.

Our group of 12 (7 "50+" and 5 young adults) stayed at The Schoolhouse on President's Weekend (2/14-2/17). The six bedrooms were the perfect bed configuration for our group of three families plus one single. The three bedrooms (K,K,Q) were great for the parents; the other three bedrooms with twins and bunk beds were just perfect for the young adults - we had a boys room and a girls room and one room left for the single adult. The Schoolhouse is a perfect combination of rustic charm and modern convenience. The kitchen has modern appliances and is amply stocked with everything you would need if you want to cook your meals. The owner graciously offered spices/condiments for our use. The HUGE game room upstairs (foosball, ping pong and pool table, TV with DVD and a couch) was a great area for all to gather for some "together-time". There is no cable service so you can't watch TV but each TV has a VHS/DVD player. We watched movies - no big deal for us. One drawback is lack of cell service (there are spots in the house you can get cell service but you have to find them!) but the owner graciously allows the house phone to be used for long distance calls. Internet service was available for all to use computers. Some of us skied Okemo, about a 15 minute ride away. Conditions were great! Some just relaxed - did some sightseeing (a monastery, the Vermont country store). Some just relaxed at The Schoolhouse. For a large group like us, make sure you look for the table leaves - we forgot to ask and improvised so all could eat together but we later found them. Just an overall great time - definitely would return, in any season.
