About the property

2 Bedroom, Living Room With Pull Out Couch, Sleeps 6, Dining Room, 1 Bathroom

Sunset Retreat is a beautiful cottage that has a lakeview dining room and bar area, full kitchen, master bedroom(queensize bed), smaller guest bedroom(bunk bed with trundle), spacious living room with a pull out couch, satellite tv and one full bathroom. The cottage will sleep 7.

Outdoors we have a large Brock Deck with patio furniture, fire pit by the lake with all the wood you need, a shed for storage that has some fishing poles, cornhole games, and a couple of bikes for riding around the lake. There is also a 220 plug on the side of the house for a camper or motorhome to plug in. The pier and seawall are great for swimming, fishing or bringing your own boat. Best of all are the great sunsets that we get all year long. Lake Bruce has a fun sandbar in the middle of the lake known as the 'Bouys' for lots of fun. Muskie, bass and panfish inhabit the lake and are a great catch.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, a girls weekend, a family vacation or guys golf trip , Sunset Retreat is the spot.

Perfect, quiet getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful sunsets was the perfect place to get away from it all! We enjoyed fishing off the dock, along with the convenience of having our boat with us. The sunsets were beautiful, and we loved the campfire right by the lake. The house is the extremely clean, and has such cute decor. We hated to leave!

Great property but lacking attention to details.

  • 4 of 5

We were given no details before arrival about access. We contacted a neighbor who called the owner about locating the key. This info. was in the guest book inside, but did us no good on arrival. Our other couple, arriving separately, could not find the cottage at night because of the conflicting house numbers, (316 vs. others in a five digit range).

We found the interior clean and presentable, but only two wash clothes , one face towel, and four bath towels...for 6 people.

Our first impression of the outside was a lack of maintenance. Planting beds were over grown, and black mildew, moss, or mold were on the deck and siding .

It would be well to point out in the rental description that one of the two bedrooms consisted of bunk beds in a small entry space at the street side of the building.

We hope this information is found useful to the owner.

Excellent cottage vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to spend ten beautiful days in this little piece of paradise. There was nothing we needed that this cottage didn't have. It was perfect for us. We could not take the pontoon out, but we're able to use it for simple relaxation, playing games, etc. We were also able to bring our Sheltie, which added to our enjoyment. The icing on the cake was having all of our children and grandchildren for a day of fun celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary!

The lake itself is so peaceful and clean and I loved that they play Taps every evening around sunset. We weren't ready to leave and would loved to be able to come back again. Thank you Rans family!!!

So Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is cozy and homey. We loved the TV and the Dish Network for the day or two the weather was not great. The paddle boat was fun and the fishing decent right off the dock even with the fluctuating weather patterns. All in all a great place to stay.
