We purchased this home right before our daughter was born. We love it, but don't up to use it as much as we'd like (mostly because Daddy is a hockey coach which takes up most weekends!). We now have a daughter and a son, as well as a 4 year old black lab (who loves the backyard dog run).
Brenna purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Brenna chose Alma
We bought this home because it was only 20 minutes away from the skiing and other activities of Breckenridge, but offered a great piece of property. The home is on an acre of land, most of which is covered in beautiful aspen trees. It is also easy for us to get to- being just off highway 9, between Fairplay and Breckenridge (just south of Hoosier Pass). It is a cozy two bedroom log cabin with a great gas fireplace and a jetted tub. We love coming up to the house on weekends to just get away. The house is close to the South Platte River (walking distance) as well as bike trails. We are an 'outdoorsy' family, and this home was the perfect match for us!
What makes this Cabin unique
The views of the mountains surrounding our house sold us on this property. The two bedroom, two bath home is perfect for our family of four. We loved the idea of sitting around the gas fireplace playing board games, and the two-person jetted tub is just great! It was an absolute bonus for us that there is a detached garage. It's great for parking the car on a cold (snowy) day, as well as storing all our outdoor gear.

I loved it
We loved Alma and the cabin had everything you could possibly need. Great location to both ski resorts and South Park. Only negative is we had a mouse but that’s part of the ambiance of staying out in the country. We will be back.
Thanks for your feedback. You’re right, those stinkers are more likely to intrude a mountain home. That said, we’re getting someone’s in to try to remove them and find their point of entry. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay!
Off the beaten path for quiet, but close enough for a short drive to Alma, Breck, or Fairplay
Beautiful and peaceful area! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Nice cabin perfect quiet location
Brenna has done a wonderful job thinking of everything. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Nice quiet location, far enough out for quiet, but not so far out make it inconvenient to go get things.
The owners made the process simple and easy. We didnt have any issues. It was a great get away with lots of trails and adventures nearby. I invited my buddies from Chicago, New York and Oregan and we all had a blast enjoying true Colorado. It was nice to BBQ outside with the aspen tree line and catch up on things.
Peaceful cabin in a wonderful area!
We loved our stay at Brenna's cabin. We stayed for a month (mid-May to mid-June) with our two dogs. The cabin was a perfect size and had everything we needed. We loved the long walks in the Placer Valley area....very quiet and peaceful. We had one moose mosey by the cabin during our stay but had multiple moose, elk and fox sightings on drives just a short distance from the cabin (just over Hoosier Pass in Blue River or in Park County). The cabin is in a great location if you want to get away from the crowds but still be able to get to Summit County activities easily. Very cozy, comfortable and relaxing!!!
Great cabin away from the crowds
The cabin had everything we needed and the gas fireplace was perfect for relaxing and kept the entire living room warm. This cabin is located 30min away from Breckenridge which is exactly what we wanted. The roads leading to the cabin were well maintained even after a snow fall. I never felt unsafe driving into town. I would stay here again.
Located a short 20 minute drive from the magnificent ski resort of Breckenridge, and 40 minutes to Keystone, the town of Alma is a quiet town just south of Hoosier Pass. It is the perfect place to visit in the winter for skiing/snowboarding, sledding and/or skating. In the spring, summer and fall, it is a great spot for hiking, biking, fishing and site seeing.
