About Brenna

We purchased this home right before our daughter was born. We love it, but don't up to use it as much as we'd like (mostly because Daddy is a hockey coach which takes up most weekends!). We now have a daughter and a son, as well as a 4 year old black lab (who loves the backyard dog run).

Brenna purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Brenna chose Alma

We bought this home because it was only 20 minutes away from the skiing and other activities of Breckenridge, but offered a great piece of property. The home is on an acre of land, most of which is covered in beautiful aspen trees. It is also easy for us to get to- being just off highway 9, between Fairplay and Breckenridge (just south of Hoosier Pass). It is a cozy two bedroom log cabin with a great gas fireplace and a jetted tub. We love coming up to the house on weekends to just get away.

The house is close to the South Platte River (walking distance) as well as bike trails. We are an 'outdoorsy' family, and this home was the perfect match for us!

What makes this cabin unique

The views of the mountains surrounding our house sold us on this property. The two bedroom, two bath home is perfect for our family of four.

We loved the idea of sitting around the gas fireplace playing board games, and the two-person jetted tub is just great!

It was an absolute bonus for us that there is a detached garage. It's great for parking the car on a cold (snowy) day, as well as storing all our outdoor gear.

Wonderful cabin and location.

  • 5 of 5

Loved our 3 week stay the last half of July. Long enough to relax and really enjoy the area. Upper 60s for the highs with rain most afternoon. Aspens in the backyard and a quiet subdivision tucked away in the mountains. Close enough to places like Breckenridge and Leadville and only 10 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants. Our dogs really enjoyed the fenced in backyard. Would happily come back.

Great location and cute cabin, but it needs a new bed in the master

  • 3 of 5

We really liked the cabin and location, but the bed in the master was really bad. It is very rickety, and the mattress is in bad shape. The sheet didn't even fit over it correctly. The pillows looked rough as well, luckily we brought our own and our own comforter. I would have given it 4 stars if it wasn't for the bed. The cabin was clean, with all the essentials we needed.

Great place. We had everything we needed. There truly is no cell phone service. Plan ahead! We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! Cell service is rough up there. I know some carriers have started providing "wi-fi calling" so as long as you've got that set up on your phone, and a connection through the home's wifi, you can make calls. Thanks! -Brenna

Located a short 20 minute drive from the magnificent ski resort of Breckenridge, and 40 minutes to Keystone, the town of Alma is a quiet town just south of Hoosier Pass. It is the perfect place to visit in the winter for skiing/snowboarding, sledding and/or skating. In the spring, summer and fall, it is a great spot for hiking, biking, fishing and site seeing.
