About Raina and Brian Pratt
Hi, welcome! Our names are Raina and Brian Pratt and we have four children. We are the managers of Spruce Cottage; an apartment attached to a 1910 Bungalow in Somers, Montana. Brian and I both grew up in the Flathead Valley. We lived in Northern California for almost ten years but most recently moved back to the beautiful state of Montana and the quaint town of Somers to raise our family. We are excited to open it up to you and welcome you to the lovely village of Somers, we think you'll love it here!
Raina and Brian Pratt purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Raina and Brian Pratt chose Somers
We are friends with, Ida and Maarten Fischer, the owners of this wonderful property. It includes the main house bungalow where we live full time and the Spruce cottage. While our friends are in the Netherlands we are the care takers of the property and the hosts of the Spruce cottage guests. We love not only the location but also all the original details of the old home. The fact that it has a cottage to share is a wonderful bonus! We are so glad to be in Somers and share this sweet spot with guests from all over the world.
What makes this Cottage unique
The studio apartment is small, but open and well laid out on the inside. It has a calm, peaceful feel to it, and I enjoy quiet moments spent there cleaning or fixing it up away from the hustle and bustle of our house with three young children. Apart from the coziness of the apartment itself, its location really does make it a hidden gem. Somers is a unique community worth exploring by foot or bike, and Lake access is just minutes away.

Best place we have stayed!
My husband and I have stayed at 4 VRBOs in different areas over the past 3 years. All were wonderful, but the Spruce Cottage was the absolute best! Somers is an adorable town with a fantastic breakfast cafe, super easy access to Flathead lake, and it’s close (enough) to Big Fork, Swan Lake and Glacier National Park. We stayed 5 nights in the cottage and spent 6 glorious days exploring the surrounding areas. We love Montana and we were scoping out areas where we would like to retire someday. Not only is Montana one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, but the people are so friendly and welcoming! Raina, Brian, and their 4 beautiful children went completely out of their way to find us the perfect alternative when I made the mistake of getting our checkout day wrong! Their sincerity and hospitality was the very best part of an already amazing trip. We can’t wait to get back to Montana!! ❤️❤️❤️
Perfect lake get away.
Clean, comfortable and cozy cottage. Easy access to all attractions in the Flathead Valley.
Great cabin on the lake vibe
What do you need to know? Comfy bed, futon was no better or worse than any other i have slept on. No TV, but I don't watch so didn't care. Good WI-FI so Netflix and Hulu would probably be an option. I felt very safe and Raina & Brian were charming and responsive. It will be my go to choice of the 5 places I have stayed in Somers/Lakeside.
Delightful Spruce Cottage
We had the most delightful stay at Spruce Cottage in Somers, Montana. It is perfectly located, close to Kalispell and Lake View.
We loved the property! Very quaint, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. Beautiful, fresh lilacs were gifted to us, as well as, fresh eggs!
We would highly recommend staying at Spruce Cottage...the most accommodating hosts!
Thank you! We loved hosting you and hope you come again :)
Very charming, relaxing and comfortable place to stay
We enjoyed our stay. It was close to many activities with easy access. There is an excellent cafe within walking distance. Kayak rentals here also.
We are so glad it worked out for you to stay at the Cottage.
All the best!
A Cozy Somers HideAway
Raina and Brian went above and beyond in accommodating us in every way possible.

Countless lakes and rugged mountains are within easy reach, making this a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy boating, kayaking, white water rafting, swimming, hiking, alpine skiing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, golfing and shopping. Glacier National Park is just under an hour's drive away, and both local ski resorts, Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail Ski areas are only a 45 minute drive.
Or park your car for the day and head out on the nearby historic 'Rails to Trails' bike path or walk down to the Somers Bay Cafe for breakfast before continuing on to the public beach just 1/2 mile away.
