About America and Jon Lesh

America and Jon have lived in Baltimore for over 10 years. They love the city and wanted the ability to share all the great places, people, and neighborhoods with visitors.

America and Jon Lesh purchased this townhome in 2013

Why America and Jon Lesh chose Baltimore

Having lived in Canton for many years, America and Jon decided the best way to cater to visitors was by giving them a “real” Baltimore experience, complete with day-to-day living in one of the city’s famed rowhouses, located in one of Baltimore’s favorite neighborhoods.

Guestbook comments from the owner

...In Baltimore. As our daughter graduated from MICA today, we spent the last four days getting to know your city. Most obvious impression (since we are from bone-dry California) is how lush and green the surrounding area is. The weather was cool and humidity low and the accommodations at your wonderful row house superb.

Charming, clean & ideal location!

  • 5 of 5

This adorable row house is exactly how it looks in the photos. We appreciated being in walking distance to great food, grocery shopping, and Fell's Point. The upstairs bedroom is spacious, and the house is full of all the amenities that make staying in a VROB rental so much better than a hotel. The owners are kind, helpful & responsive, and accommodated our last-minute request for a later checkout when our flight home was delayed. We were staying in Baltimore during a big event in DC, & we were impressed that they didn't increase the daily rental rate during this time, as so many other places had done. We would love to stay here again for future travel to Baltimore.

Fantastic row home in the middle of Canton

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I (and our cat!) stayed here for three months in the summer while we were in the Baltimore area for work. The location is superb, and we were able to easily explore the city by bike or foot from there. An abundance of great restaurants and bars are close by, not to mention the Harbor, the waterfront park, Fells, and Patterson Park are also all a short bike or walk away. Jon and America were incredible hosts: always available and willing to help or answer questions. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect home away from home.

The perfect place to stay in Baltimore

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home for two and a half weeks while in town for surgery, and it was perfect. Canton is a great area, and the house is in walking distance to all kinds of restaurants and stores and the harbor. It is especially close to Patterson Park, which was awesome for our dog.

The house is clean, charming, spacious, and packed with small amenities that show how thoughtful the owners are. We were welcomed with a hand-written note, some cookies from a local bakery, and treats for our dog. It was definitely the best experience I have had with a rental, and I wouldn't hesitate going back there.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here 3 weeks while receiving treatments at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Despite record low temperatures and 3 snowstorms, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only problem was keeping the lower level warm enough in the frigid weather. The upstairs level was always comfortable, and the rear den, with its roof windows, was a comfortable place to read on sunny afternoons.

We particularly liked the location, close to Patterson Park where we walked our dog, and close to the Safeway grocery, the harbor, Fells Point, and lots of restaurants. The neighborhood felt very safe and was full of young people. We plan to stay here again when we have another week of hospital appointments.

Owner's Response: Jim and Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad to know that your stay was enjoyable, despite the snow and freezing conditions. The record low temperatures in Baltimore made it especially challenging for row homes without basements to maintain a comfortable temperature on the first floor. We will have additional space heaters on hand in the event that we experience another unusual winter like Feb 2015. We look forward to your upcoming stays and the spring weather! Kind Regards, Jon and America

Amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. I can't say enough wonderful things about not only the home but Jon & America as well. They gave great suggestions on local places to eat that we're spot on and fun things to do. They were always willing to answer all of my questions and in such a timely manner. The location of this home is perfect! You can easily walk to tons of restaurants and shops as well as the water taxi to go into the inner harbor. We honestly can't wait to go back to Baltimore and stay here again!
