Overview

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Our condo is located on 'Malibu Row', as the owners call it...because everyone wants to live with unobstructed views of blue and white water and sunsets from our lanais. Listen to the beach's surf surrounding the famous Kaliaka Rock (where Dole Pineapple Company would drop their harvested pineapples onto the out-going barges before the wharf was built on the east end of Molokai). Relax at the quiet pool which is only a few steps away. Given that this is a tropical area, be aware that there are insects, wild turkeys etc.

For a quiet get-away from the world old Hawaii awaits you. No traffic, with one traffic light on the island. Watch the waves on your beach front lanai (approx. 100 yards), and the beautiful sunsets at night with the soft glow of Honolulu lights in the distance. Over looks the Kaluakoi Golf Course. A five minute walk will bring you to the famous three mile beach of Papohaku Park, and the resort pool is only a few feet away.

Walk the beach where only your footprints are left. Then, there is always surfing on the east end of West Molokai Resort's private beach. Hiking and biking trails are around the resort, and horseback riding is adjacent to the property. And for golfers, there is a golf course on the north end of the island.

Our upstairs Condo gives you a great overall view of the white and blue waters of the ocean, and privacy with a lanai where you can eat and watch your sunrise and sunset with gorgeous views of Diamond Head.

And, if you are planning on a wedding you can have a beautiful, memorable celebration on our white sand beach, as other lovers do, with Diamond Head on Oahu in the background, lying beyond our azure waters.

This is a newly remodeled rental including furniture, etc. Please No Smoking, No pets, except registered seeing eye dogs. Check-in is after 4pm and check- out is by 10am. AED located at bottom of stairs for CPR needs.

Ferry service from Maui was terminated, due to more limited nonstop flights to the island. Hawaiian Airlines' Ohana (www.hawaiianairlines.com} offers daily service to 48-passenger turboprops from Honolulu, Maui's Kahului airport and Lanai, while Mokulele Airlines (www.mokuleleairlines.com: and Makani Kai Air (www.makanikaiair.com) offer daily service from Honolulu on nine-passenger turboprops. Book flights and lodging early for popular events, such as the Molokai Ka Hula Pike Festival, www.kahula[piko.com, or the Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championship, www.molokai2oahu.com.

Loved the property and the island.

  • 5 of 5

Spent Christmas week with my 3 teenaged boys. Both the property and the island of Molokai were exactly what I was looking for. Quiet, peaceful, non-touristy, amazing beaches, tasty waves. The condo was great. Front row with unobstructed views of the ocean. Two of my boys slept upstairs in the large bed, the other slept downstairs on the pull-out. I slept out on the lanai and we all fell asleep to the sound of breaking waves. Woke up to local coffee and gorgeous sunrises and always the sound of breaking waves. There is world class surf on Molokai but I'm not saying where ;). Nice 10-12 wave sets. If you surf, give respect and you will get respect. If you don't surf, choose your beach wisely. Shorebreak can be dangerous but there are beaches that are flat and suitable for even small children. Finding them is half the fun. Shopping is about 30 minutes away driving but there is a small shop in the condo complex if you need something basic (groceries). Heard some people commenting on high prices but we're from Alaska so no sticker shock for us. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and I'm already thinking about booking again for next Kalikimaka. Mahalo!

Owner's Response: Pete Snow and his family was a delight for us to spend their vacation at our condo. We recommend them to other VRBO owners in the future, and would be ecstatic to have the Snow family return anytime in the future.

Well situated remote escape on Molokai

  • 5 of 5

Was a perfect place to relax and explore the uniquely remote west side of Molokai! The space had everything needed to nest, cook, beach stroll, explore and sunset watch!

Nice ocean views

  • 2 of 5

This rental has great ocean views. Nice trails for walking. Great beaches. The minus is that this entire property is pretty run down. Several condo buildings are boarded up and in very poor condition with Keep Out signs on them. I think the cleaning fee is steep considering I had to wash the floors as our feet ended up filthy. If I could attach a photo of the rag I used, I would, eek. Dishes and blender, toaster were dirty. Foul smell coming from the garbage disposal. Only one roll of toilet paper. Just being an honest reviewer. I’m sure at some point in the past these condos had the “Malibu Row” feel. Not so much now. This might not bother someone else. Based on what I read, I expected a bit more.

Owner's Response: We are very surprised at your review of our condo, since you never contacted us with your needs or complaints. Our resort is not run down. The condo buildings you spoke of on the other side of our entrance's main road are closed and do not belong to our resort. Consequently these are out of our resort's control. They belong to an Asian corporation that has not had the resources to refurbish that area. They have told our resort mgmt. that they are looking toward upgrading them next year. Our cleaning lady, Julie is one of the best on the island and we are very appreciative of her diligent effort in keeping the ocean front condos clean of the ocean spray and dust from the tropical winds. Your reservation was a very late notice, and being a holiday she cleaned, refreshed/restocked amenities and mopped our condo the day before, so she could spend time with her family on Thanksgiving. Perhaps the holiday stressed you out. I have talked to Julie about your review and she said you never called her with any needs or complaints, even though you had her phone number (as well as mine) for any concerns or questions. This is very strange. Why didn't you call her or me? We can not help you if you don't notify us immediately.

Oceanfront Condo - Just What We Were Looking For

  • 4 of 5

This condo has an exceptional whitewater view of the beach. We found the bed to be very comfortable and the breezes kept it at a nice temperature throughout the day and evening. The property is located next to the now closed Sheraton Resort, so very few people were nearby and it was nice and quiet. This is a place to relax, swim, hike and enjoy the rural island of Molokai. The condo was equipped with everything we needed to cook every night and we also used the gas BBQ grills located on the lawns just outside the door. The condo is set-up as a typical beach property, with basic amenities and features. We would book it again.
