Our beautiful, charming and affordable classic beach cottage is located in world-famous downtown Huntington Beach, a.k.a. Surf City USA, home to the annual US Surfing Open!

The cottage is within a SHORT & EASY WALK to Main Street, the Pacific Ocean, Pacific City, miles of white-sand beaches with amazing surfing, the iconic HB pier, tons of restaurants and pubs, Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, local coffee joints, shops, delis, CVS, 7-Eleven, and much more.

Our cottage is lovingly cared by our family who has owned the property for many years and is our son, Cab's, favorite place to be. Our cottage was built in 1924. We lived in the cottage with our family for several years, and updated the bathrooms, kitchen and other amenities. But, we were careful to maintain the cottage’s original character. You will find our home has lots of beach cottage charm, yet it is functional and a wonderful place to stay. Our cottage is a real home, and it is not a hotel by any means. Our cottage is truly one of the originally-designed and small-but-mighty beach cottages of coastal California.

The cottage has many of the original features along with multiple comfort-inspired upgrades. You will enjoy a 1,000 square foot classic beach cottage with gorgeous beach-inspired decor throughout the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which features Bedroom #1 with a queen-size bed and attached Jack-and-Jill bathroom; Bedroom #2 with a twin-size bed and built-in office, roll-a-way twin bed, and access to the Jack-and-Jill bathroom; and Bedroom #3 with a queen-size bed and fold-out twin size bed.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, glassware, Tupperware plates/cups/utensils for kids, pots & pans, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, full-size island stove and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and island seating for 5 people.

The cottage also features a private picket-fenced front yard with porch, large fenced back yard with bench seating and a Weber BBQ, 2 televisions with complimentary cable, complimentary wireless internet access for use with your personal devices, washer and dryer, 2-car parking (*please see important parking information below), Radio Flyer wagon for beach gear and kids, beach toys for kids, toys and books, high chair, pack-n-play, 2 baby gates, 2 adults beach cruisers, 2 kids' bikes, 2 boogie boards, 1 beach umbrella, linens, iron & ironing board, hair blow dryer, plenty of white bathroom towels, and a stack of beach towels for your use at the beach.

The charming beach cottage is perfect for a family vacation or romantic get-away.

Within a close drive, you can enjoy all that Orange County has to offer, such as Disneyland & California Adventure Parks, Knott's Berry Farm, Medieval Times, South Coast Plaza Shopping Mall in Costa Mesa, Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach, Balboa & Lido Island in Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar, Laguna Beach, Sunset Beach, and Seal Beach ...

Less than a 1-hour drive away, without traffic, you can enjoy the Long Beach Aquarium, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Universal Studios ... and,

San Diego is also about a 1.5 hour drive away, without traffic, where you can visit the San Diego Zoo & Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and Legoland!

* PARKING: Car parking at popular southern California beach towns is tough, especially when a house or establishment is a close distance to the beach. Our cottage in downtown Huntington Beach has no exception to the parking crunch because it is within walking distance to the beach and pier. However, we are lucky to have a shared driveway and a garage. We offer our guests the option to park in the garage, directly in front of the garage, or on the street. The driveway is shared with our neighbors, so we ask that our guests never block the driveway at any time. There are gates on the driveway – that require guests to manually open/close the gates before driving up/down the driveway. The driveway is original to the cottage and it is narrow (this makes it difficult but not impossible to park larger vehicles), so we ask that our guests take it slow and be cautious when driving in and backing out. There is a limit of 2 cars on the property at all times. After many failed/broken automatic garage door clickers, we learned a valuable lesson that a simple manual garage door handle never fails! To access our garage, the garage door opens manually and easily by using a center handle on the front of the garage door. Any visitors of registered guests must always park on the street, at all times. In all, we are lucky to provide our guests with parking, but we want to be sure our guests understand the quirks of parking at our cottage, and, in general, just how limited parking is in a popular southern California beach town!

About Chander

Our family has owned the beach cottage for many years. It was built in 1924 and we are only the second owners since it was constructed. We renovated the cottage with tons of love and care, and added modern amenities while maintaining the original beach cottage charm. Our family lived in the cottage for several years and are now happy to share the joy of the beach with other families and those looking for a relaxing beach get-away.

Very nice cottage

We had a great time in this lovely cottage. It is in a nice neighborhood, close to Main Street stores, restaurants and the beach. There were bikes and the cottage and yard are sunny and quaint.

Comfy place!

A cute home that blends old and new. The cottage was very clean and organized. The street is pretty quiet during this time of year which is great since I’ma light sleeper. With the strong CA sun especially in the front bedroom, would love to see total blackout shades with curtains to keep out the morning light for us light sleepers and, in the warmer weather, keep the room cool. Good amenities in the kitchen. Immediate and good communications with Chandra - he’ll help out in any way needed. Will look to come back next year if I’m in CA again. Thanks, Chandra!

fabulous place!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication with the owner was easy and seamless. The place was clean when we arrived and perfect to share. Its a close walk to the beach or downtown HB. We even used the bikes that are in the garage. It's an old house which has charm and personality. Way better than staying in a hotel. I would stay here again and look forward to the opportunity in the future. I will be recommending this place to friends.

Darling 1928 cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was clean ,comfortable, and cozy for our 3 night beach vacation with our California family. All the amenities we needed, from shampoo, dishes, bikes and comfortable beds!

Chander communicated with us on a timely basis and it was no trouble to checkin . Would highly recommend this cottage in Huntington Beach!

Great location in a quiet neighborhood!

We enjoyed being so close to the beach, Pacific City and so many great places to shop, eat and walk! At the house, we enjoyed sitting on the front porch and drinking coffee in the morning! Cute house and yard! Chander communicates clearly all information needed for an enjoyable stay!
