PERFECT FAMILY PARADISE ABOVE BEAUTIFUL CEDAR BAY LAKE

  • 5 of 5

We were blessed to have our family reunion at this incredible log cabin home tucked amongst a gorgeous garden and nature's bounty. We were a short walk from a private beach along Cedar Bay Lake where our family spent long, lazy days swimming, and paddle boarding, as well as using the kayak & canoe already provided by the owners. The private dock and sandy beach entrance to the lake gave us the impression that we had access to our own gigantic pool. The beautiful pagoda built to honor one of their loved ones made it easy to meditate & relish the lake view. Evenings were enjoyed by the outdoor bbq and fire pit next to the lake where we made dinner, toasted smores, and marveled at the sunset and stars. There is a beach shed where we easily found a small refrigerator, life jackets, smore sticks, floating devices, fishing poles & gear, plus clean beach towels. (A very clean portable toilet was conveniently nearby making it easy to stay at the lake side all day. The outdoor shower next to the cabin made clean up afterwards so easy).

The home was clean, spacious, and accommodated our large family dinners and games at the kitchen table. The basement was another great entertainment spot as we enjoyed the air hockey table and the younger ones enjoyed the Wii Games and building blocks. Plenty of private space for each family unit. However, there were several beautiful gathering spots inside and outside of the cabin as well.

We were close to Traverse City which offered great wine tasting tours, artists' venues, shopping, and restaurants. We are grateful to the owners Tom & Sandy for creating such a beautiful oasis for our family to reunite, relax, laugh, and share a wonderful week together. Their attention to each detail guaranteed a vacation that was enjoyed by all ages and tastes.

Phenomenal Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 families spend a week at the property and loved it. We wavered back and forth about renting a house on the bay, but staying on Cedar Lake across from the bay is the way to go. You are sheltered from the high winds of the bay, which allows for great bonfires every night. With young children hanging out by the water all day, Cedar Lake you might be lucky to see a 1foot wave delivered to shore by a passing boat as compared to 2 to 3 foot waves crashing ashore on the bayside most of the day. Also the "U" shaped treeline of the beach at the property offered a combination of shade and sun all through out the day, you'd simply move your beach chair over a couple feet depending upon the hour of the day. Kept both sun worshiping parents happy along with the sunscreen shade protected kiddies. The beach also has a mini fridge and plenty of electrical outlets. The location of the property is perfect for day excursions to golf, shopping and wineries. With 3 families intermingling throughout the week we never felt crowded in the house, plenty of space. The beach is not right off the back of the house, so there is a slight walk or drive down a paved road. We brought plenty of supplies down to the beach for 3 families so the 30 second drive down to the beach in our vehicle was no big deal at all. We had 2 year olds with us which made afternoon nap time a bit challenging with the beach being a bit from the house but we took a wifi nanny cam which worked just fine with the cabin internet. Not to be overlooked is the very private outside shower, thought it would be just for rinsing off the lake water but with its dual shower head made it a unique experience to shower in daily which came in handy during busy morning bathroom hours. We brought our boat and launched it at the south end of the lake and took the kids tubing almost every day. Simply tied it up to their dock with no issues. Propane provided grills at both the cabin and down at the beach made for some great family dinners by the lake. Tom the owner is very responsive with any questions we had for him. Would highly recommend this property for any families looking to make some lifelong memories.

Great house, location and experience for summer vacation in Traverse City area

  • 5 of 5

Family vacation in Northern Michigan to experience living in a house on a lake and enjoy the greater Traverse City area. Location and house exceeded our expectations. This was a family vacation, which included kids and elderly family member. We had 10 people in our party. We could have comfortably fit at least two more, if desired.

The house is first class in appearance and amenities. It was very cool to have your own personal lake front location on Cedar Lake - tons of things to do for kids and adults. Meanwhile the Grand Traverse Bay is very nearby. Greater Traverse City is 4 miles away - with access to classic downtown area with shops and restaurants. Beyond that, Northern Michigan is beautiful with National Parks, Golf, shopping and breweries nearby. Overall, this was a memorable experience. The owners enhanced the experience - making it feel like a first class experience.

Exceptional home, owners, and property. Highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

We choose this property based on the photographs, and the prompt and friendly correspondence with the owner. It exceeded our expectations. The home is fully and tastefully furnished with well equipped. Every detail is thought through and well kept.

We felt as though we were staying with friends - who happened to be gone for a week! Owners came by to see that we were satisfied and answer any questions. Cedar lake is ideal. We often felt we were on our private lake. Beach front is lovely, includes a fridge, grill, water toys --- just perfect.

Great proximity to Traverse City, and all that the area offers. We slept 7-9 adults comfortably and everyone enjoyed the property.

Special thanks to the owner's for their warm hospitality, and prompt responses. A real pleasure. Can recommend without reservation.
