About William Day

We currently live in Petoskey and recently had the opportunity to purchase this wonderful property on Pickerel Lake where our son and daughter-in-law got married on.

Since we only live 20 miles away, we will be able to provide you with any assistance you may need during your stay in a timely manner.

William Day purchased this house in 2013

Why William Day chose Crooked Lake (Emmet County)

This is a great central location that can serve as your home base for all of the wonderful recreational opportunities that Northern Michigan has to offer. Pickerel Lake is the quietest lake of the four inland lakes that connects to the Historic Inland Waterway which eventually leads to Lake Huron. It is an all-sports lake with great fishing and a public boat launch and sand beach and recreation area.

What makes this house unique

A quiet and peaceful retreat that is close to everything that makes Northern Michigan the place to vacation! Great fishing and boating on the Inland Waterway. Great sandy beach and recreational facilities at Camp Petosega just across the lake free to the public. Award winning area Golf Courses. Close to Petoskey & Mackinac Island Ferry. Great biking trails. Shopping and Casino in Petoskey.

Great time was had by everyone!

  • 5 of 5

Very well maintained property. Bill and Gerry are wonderful and gracious hosts and do everything to make sure that everyone has a great time. The Lake is awesome! The dogs had a great time playing in the water and the dock is nice and sturdy for docking the boat. Wonderful yard, and the clothes line was a great thing to have for wet towels.

Thank you Bill and Gerry for a wonderful week!

Owner's Response: Dear Lori & Family: Gerry & I are always pleased when our guests enjoy their stay. We do try to make sure that we do what we can to make that happen. Thanks for taking the time to let us know and we hope to see you again. We would like to post your son-in-laws picture with his trophy walleye catch on our site if he wouldn't mind. If so, please e-mail us a picture. Thanks again! Bill & Gerry

Great rental

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful week on Pickerel Lake. The home was very clean and well kept with plenty of space. The lake is beautiful and this shallow, sandy, and protected portion of the lake is great for small children. We look forward to staying here again.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family (including dogs) and I had a fantastic time during our vacation on Pickerel Lake. Bill and Gerry (Geraldine) meet us at the property, very nice people. The house was even better than the pictures and furnished with everything you need. The lake is beautiful! Sand bottom, clear water and somewhat secluded, quiet area. We really didn't want to leave....but will look forward to coming back again!

Amazing location, very quiet.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from July 1 to July 6, 2017. We were amazed at how beautiful the house and property is, with amazing views of Pickerel Lake. The Days are fantastic folks that have thought of very thing you could need (except food) for peaceful week or so away from the madness of the world. We have booked a week for 2018 and plan on more than that in the future.

Staying here is close to several areas, Harbor Springs, Petosky, Mackinaw, day trips to the Upper Peninsula, and more.

Out the back door you will see a field/wooded area with White Tail Deer coming in close. Fishing, swimming, or sitting by the fire pit, you will have a great experience.

Very comfortable, everything but the weather was great! Bill and Gerry are terrific to deal with!!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on June 24th, 2017 Bill and Gerry met us there with a pizza in hand. Funny we ate pizza on the way up! LOL Everything was provided from the essential paper products to a bundle of firewood. There was even a fresh canister of coffee which was greatly appreciated as someone in my family left ours on the kitchen counter. There was a canoe and a row boat as well which we used when the weather allowed. They had board games which was great as it was not warm and rained a lot. The house is on a quiet street and the neighbors are very friendly. All in all we had a great time!!

Owner's Response: Thank you Debbie & Family for taking the time to give us a great review. We enjoyed meeting all of you. Gerry was very impressed with your polite son (not sure whether Jacob or Michael) who offered to help her put away the vacuum cleaner. She was also grateful that you made her job easier by your cleanliness. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay despite the weather. We hope if you decide to return next year that the weatherman will cooperate. Sincerely, Bill & Gerry
