What makes this condo unique

This small and pleasant community is a little gem, tucked away, but well located for travel to points east, west and I-95 . Shopping and restaurants are only 0.5 miles away, and the condo is an easy walk to the solar heated pool, spa and clubhouse, approximately 200 yards away. Walk the 'circle' in the evenings or in the early morning. It is a great way to meet and greet other residents or guests.

Perfect 6-Month Winter Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed my 6-month stay very much! On arrival, I was impressed by the Welcome Binder providing information on the condo, local restaurants, shopping suggestions and things to do in South Florida. The condo is meticulously clean and the kitchen cabinets, appliances and granite countertops are all in great condition. The condo is easy to find, off I-95. It is well-located for trips up and down the coast and for ease of travel north or south on I-95, while also near the beach. Hosts Lorna and Walt were very responsive to my requests or questions prior to and during my stay. Walt was very handy and took care of any small issues promptly and thoroughly. Lorna even set up a fully adorned Christmas Tree for my stay which made things festive for guests over the Holidays. Comcast Cable TV and Internet functioned well, and I found Comcast Xfinity internet faster than I am used to, which was a plus for me. The beds were comfy with good quality bed linens and plentiful soft towels.

I travel most winters, yet I was surprised to see an exceptionally well-stocked kitchen with lots of pots, pans, cookware and small appliances. There was nothing missing! Additionally, there was an assortment of dried herbs, spices, seasonings and many other starter items on hand. The beach-themed front Florida Room is a pleasant spot to relax in, read, do puzzles or watch folks walk by in the “circle” in the early evening hours. The tropical rear patio is perfect for relaxing in the sun or in the shade of the large umbrella surrounded by lush oleanders. Again, it is well equipped with glass top outdoor dining table and chairs, loungers and CharBroil gas barbecue. I personally enjoyed working out at the small Clubhouse gym every morning while residents and other guests enjoyed the solar-heated pool and pool deck. I definitely recommend this vacation condo to anyone looking for a quiet and enjoyable winter retreat with great accessibility to all South Florida has to offer. You won’t regret it!

Our first winter as Snowbirds!

  • 4 of 5

Originally we were only going to stay in FL for one month, FEB. But we're so glad we decided to take this rental for 3 months! Walt and Lorna are lovely owners and they have provided a very comfortable place.

Our time here confirmed that we enjoy being snowbirds and we are now trying to buy our own place - otherwise we would be coming back!

Pros: The patio is wonderful and we enjoyed grilling out; the updated kitchen has all you need, baths have great towels, nice sheets for the beds.

Cons: spotty Internet, TVs a bit outdated, and we would have preferred a firm King bed

Property: A beautiful property with an active social committee / the pool is perfect! Many people walking around the circle which is a half mile.

Location: Very convenient - great restaurants like Pearls, Dune Deck, and Olde Key Lime House, and a little further is Hurricane Alley. Our favorite beach was Lake Worth just 5 mins away, has more parking and just what a beach should be.

This property was a very good fit for us and for our many guests that visited to escape the horrid winter!

Owner's Response: Hi Barb, Thanks for the great review! We are delighted you both liked the condo. Thank you also for your suggestions on making the condo better. We are working (still!) with the installers to get the new internet up to par and a complete overhaul of the new transmitters throughout the community is underway to insure effective internet reception in the condo and elsewhere. Best regards to you both. Hope to see you when you are down this way again! Lorna & Walt Riedle

Lantana Beach & Dune Deck Cafe
Car: recommended

Must do Activities in and around Lantana:

-- Go for breakfast at the Dune Deck Café directly on Lantana Beach. It's popular, so get there early! Lorna's favorite is the Greek Yogurt with Honey & Walnuts, fresh fruit and banana bread.. Yummy!!

-- Attend a show at our local Plaza Theater, Manalapan, and a enjoy a renowned plate of fish and chips at John G's.

-- Take a leisurely Sunday drive up or down A1A and view the beautiful residences of the rich and famous of Palm Beach.

-- Take a drive down world famous Worth Avenue. Stop in at Tiffany's, visit Gucci, Jimmy Choo's, etc. Afterwards head to Pizza al Fresco and dine outside in the Mediterranean style courtyard. Prices are reasonable.

-- Visit the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. There you will find a carriage of Henry Flagler's famous train that

traveled to Key West. Afternoon tea, British style, is refined but casual, with a beautiful view over the intracoastal waterway.

-- Take a trip to City Place in West Palm Beach for shopping, IMAX cinema, all kinds of restaurants and open air dining. Hop on the free trolly service to Clematis Street or take a Diva-Duck amphibious vehicle tour.

-- Take in a daily show, concert, ballet or opera at the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts, City Place.

-- For the golf enthusiast, Palm Beach County is home to many excellent golf courses. The closest course is Lake Worth Municipal just 5 miles or 14 minutes away, with reasonable green fees.

-- Tired of the beach? Head inland to Wellington for the world famous Winter Equestrian Festival. World class international riders compete during the winter months in horse jumping and dressage. Many events are free.

-- Looking to stomp a divot? Check out the Sunday Champagne Brunch at the International Polo Club. Wellington lies only 45 minutes away to the west.

-- Head down south to Delray Beach for their many arts festivals or just people watch on the sidewalk cafés along Atlantic Avenue.

--Tennis anyone? Delray Beach hosts it's annual International Open Tournament in February of each year.

-- West on Southern Boulevard is Lion Country Safari, where you can go on safari from the comfort of your own car (with the windows up)! View zebras, exotic birds, lions, monkeys, hippos and ostriches as they roam the preserve, and take a curious look at you too!

-- Take a daylight or evening boat trip around Palm Beach on the Majestic Princess. Evening dinners are themed - Caribbean, Italian, Southwest, etc. and are very popular. You may want to reserve ahead.

-- Visit the Keylime House on Ocean Boulevard, 1.8 miles away on the intracoastal. Enjoy a casual seafood lunch or dinner in the oldest house in Lantana. Watch the pelicans as they swoop down for fish.

-- Casual outdoor dining can also be had at Two George's or the Banana Boat both on the inlet, both restaurants and casual bars are situated next to each other and are only 9 minutes drive away. There is also a marina where you may hire a boat for a day's ocean fishing.

-- Lake Worth Beach is only 10 minutes drive away. A new casino with swimming pool, restaurants and stores opened there early 2013. Stroll along the promenade, relax on the beach or fish from the pier. Benny's on the Beach is a good place for breakfast, but arrive early.

-- Boynton Beach Oceanfront Park off A1A is only 10 minutes drive and less busy than the Lake Worth beach. There is a $10 charge per day for parking at Boynton Beach Oceanfront Park.

-- If you want to venture further afield central Miami, with Miami Beach, the art deco trendy district of South Beach and the district of Old Havana with the famous Versailles restaurant is only 64 miles south on I-95, or an hour and 17 minutes away. Likewise Orlando and the host of attractions there is only 2 hours away. Key Largo, the first of the keys can be reached in approx. 2 hours and Key West in around 4 .5 hours.
