|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
With a great location just north of Manhattan Beach State Park, this three bedroom Rockaway Beach vacation home can be your home base for exploring over seven miles of pristine Oregon coastline. This Mariner duplex (located on the street side of the house) is also dog friendly (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
Inside, you'll find comfortable furnishings, along with an open living room, dining area, and kitchen to greet you. There's plenty of comfortable furniture, ocean-themed artwork, a large flat screen TV, DirecTV service, BluRay/DVD player. There's also WiFi for checking email, streaming your favorite TV shows, or even researching dinner options in the area (there are quite a few).
Speaking of dinner, you won't have to head out for meals if you don't want to because in the full kitchen you'll find everything you need to prepare delicious vacation meals - including a dishwasher for easy cleanup. There's even a coffee grinder so you can have freshly ground beans for your coffee every morning. Come back from an afternoon at the beach and prepare a hearty seafood feast. The dining table seats six for meals and there are two comfy breakfast bar stools for sharing a cozy repast. A Char-Broil Performance Tru-Infrared 2-Burner Gas Grill is available for cookouts as well.
On this level, you will also find a cozy bedroom with a queen bed and bright floral artwork. As this is the only bedroom on this level, it's perfect for those in your group that would like a bit more privacy. There's also a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower combo and a washer and dryer - don't worry about getting dirty while you explore the area, you'll always be able to have clean, dry clothes.
Upstairs, there are two additional bedrooms (one with deck access) and another full bathroom. The larger of the two bedrooms has a peek of an ocean view, queen bed, a sitting area, flatscreen TV, and a lot of room to spread out. The third bedroom also has a queen bed with comfortable, colorful bedding. From the upstairs deck, you'll even have a bit more of an ocean view. It's the perfect spot to enjoy some morning coffee or an afternoon mug of green tea.
This duplex will accommodate six comfortably, as well as two dogs. But if you need room for a group of up to 16 guests, consider renting the whole house (both duplexes).
With a location just less then a block away from beach access, you'll be able to spend your days walking along the shoreline, building sand castles, flying kites, or just digging your toes into the warm sand. About three miles south along the beach, you'll find the iconic Twin Rocks for a gorgeous sunset photo op. On rainy days, stay nice and warm inside watching movies, playing cards, or just viewing the storm out the upstairs windows.
For a fun dinner out, head to local favorite The Whale Spout for steaming bowls of clam chowder or the Old Oregon Smokehouse for classic fish and chips. Day trips are easy to plan from this Rockaway Beach duplex - it's only 10 miles north to Manzanita for a memorable day walking around small shops and galleries or 14 miles south to cheese tasting in Tillamook. For the more adventuresome, consider a stop at Oswald West State Park for a day of hiking scenic trails through a temperate rain forest.
Whether you spend our vacation days hiking or driving around, exploring the north Oregon Coast, this Mariner 1 duplex is a great choice for your Rockaway Beach adventure!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Overall we enjoyed our short stay at this property. Rockaway Beach was a nice town and we had quick access to the beach that our four kids ranging from 8 months to 8 years old loved. Hardly anyone around in September although we did have some noisy neighbors as this home is a duplex. It had plenty of room and we made use of things like the washer and dryer, included dishes, and especially liked having a hose out front to wash off sandy feet before coming inside. It was close to the highway but we didn't hear anything noisy during the night from there. Not a great view of the beach, but a quick walk to overlooking it. The Internet didn't work the whole time and I saw some pretty old and bad phone wiring which is why it's been a problem in the past as well. The property manager was responsive and came within a couple of hours to get repairs going. Also the heat didn't work in the living room, not a big deal in September. Overall I would rather go there than a hotel and I would stay at that property again!
I like this property because it was close to the beach, the home was pretty baby proof and kid friendly, and there was even a hose outside to wash off sandy feet before coming in. The internet didn't work at all during our stay and a few things were a little run down, but for the price it seems like a place I would return to again and I didn't have to worry about our kids breaking something.
Mariner 1 was a great house for our family of five and two larger dogs. Our kids had room to spread out, there are two bathrooms and comfortable kitchen space. Being so close to the beach is an amazing bonus!
Our family recently stayed in the front portion of the duplex. The location and size were great BUT...the downstairs toilet seat was broken, the upstairs toilet seat doesn't fit, I cleaned up hair and dental floss off the downstairs bathroom floor, there was a dirty rag left in the washer, we found a dirty diaper under one of the beds, our feet and socks were black from the dirty carpet, there were missing light bulbs, missing screens at most of the windows, the extra bedding was dirty and had to be washed. There are enough dishes but they need a skillet and a baking sheet. It was a disappointing experience.
a very short walk to the beach and the property's low cost were its best attributes.
We stayed in the front duplex for 3 nights. Lots of room considering we had 4 adults and 4 teenagers! We ended up giving the teens the master bedroom. We knew there were only enough beds to sleep six so we brought foam pads. A hide a bed would be a perfect addition to the master bedroom. Plenty of pots, pans and dishes in the kitchen for what we needed. Very quiet neighborhood and the walk to the beach is less than a minute away. Great sandy beach with lots of shells, rocks and sand dollars that the kids enjoyed finding. The Internet did not work at all. The wireless router worked but no one could connect.The people who showed up the next night in the back duplex said their internet worked but was so slow you could not use it. I did call Vacsa and was told a property manager would either call or come out. Never did hear back from property manager. I would come back again and stay. Great location and great duplex for the price we paid.
