Clean, well-equipped home in a great location
We had a great time at the Anne St house. Our original booking at a different home was cancelled the day before we were to arrive to NOLA and VRBO and the owners of this house were great to work with to get us this booking. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. It was so clean, the beds were comfy, and we had all the amenities we needed. We loved having coffee on the porch and the neighborhood and proximity to bike rentals and the town was perfect.
The place was very clean and orderly.
We enjoyed our stay at the house. The owners should consider replacing the mattresses and pillows as they were not that comfortable. They should also add bar soap as none was available in any of the bathrooms. Other than that it was a nice home and located relatively close to town.
We always appreciate feed back from out guests!
I know a couple of the beds were replaced earlier this year. Mattresses are a tricky thing, what one person finds comfortable, another does not!
We no longer provide bar soap but have refillable hand pumps at all sinks and bathtubs. We found the waste on bar soap hard to deal with from a responsible environmental perspective. The pump soap has been well received so far! I might so humbly suggest, that bar soap might be something you bring yourself next time. I spoke to our local manufacturer of soap to see what could be recycled if we continued using bar soap and were informed that once a soap is opened from its packaging it is considered contaminated and not reusable. So the hand pumps save on the bar soap and the packaging, we thought it was win win! The hand soap and body wash/shampoo are especially blended for Niagara Holiday Rentals by NEOB!
Very cozy &clean
Found nice cozy place very clean & tidy. Plenty of room for our group of 8.close to all amenities , wineries, shopping, play, dining. Plenty of parking Useful information & space to make our own breakfast and lunch & to play cards in late evenings while having drinks and snacks. Our group enjoyed our stay. Thanks
clean and comfortable
Three full baths, all very clean, very convenient location both to the Falls and Niagara on the Lake main street, as well as to Lake Ontario It is a lovely place.
Great house, great location
House was exactly as advertised, great communication with owners, and it was easy to stay there
House - My group staying there was 5 friends so we needed 5 beds. 3 people got their own room on main floor and 2 shared the large downstairs bedroom that had two twin beds (also had a bathroom in that room). 3 bathrooms all with a shower worked great for the 5 of us there too. Liked having everything on one floor. Having a code to get in and out of the front door instead of a key was very helpful. Enjoyed the patio to relax and have some wine. Enough parking for 4 cars. House was clean.
Location - Short walk to downtown area. Was perfect spot for an easy walk to start/finish line of Niagara Ultra race, Pillar & Post for the spa, and Jackson Triggs for a concert.
Overall, great house and value and would stay there again.
Anne Street Cottage is within walking distance of main street of Niagara on the Lake Queen Street, Shaw Theater, Horse and carriage ride and parks.
The best kept secret in Canada is this little town located just 20 minute picturesque drive from the most famous address in the world, Niagara Falls!! Lots of people have it on their bucket list to see Niagara Falls, but then what do you do? Come and stay in our quaint little town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the prettiest little town in Canada. Canadians are known for their modesty, so this little town has been kept as a real treat to explore and be surprised by all that is going on around here!
Originally the capital of Canada, Niagara-on-the-Lake has historical significance not only to Canada but the USA as well. It is a walk through history as you can explore Fort George, see Fort Niagara (across the mighty Niagara River), battle fields and historical monuments that can give you the real feel for what has happened not so very long ago!
Our geographical location lends itself well to be prime soft fruit farm land. We are well known for grapes, peaches, cherries, strawberries and have the festivals to prove it! In the mid 1970’s the wine industry realized that a wide variety of grapes could be grown and as well we have the unique ability to produce Ice Wine. We are now internationally recognized and produce some of the finest twines in the world! Now along with the wine, we have become the culinary capital of Canada. You never know when chefs from the Food Network or HGTV are gracing our tables with their talents!
Love live theatre? we have the largest and award wining repertory theatre in North America. The Shaw Festival Theatre has grown to be a significant venue in the theatre world often offering a mix of the high brow with a taste of a good old musical that gets the toes tapping and the heart singing!
Outdoor activities…well they abound here from Golf, hiking, walking, birding, horseback riding, sightseeing, to just plain old strolling and enjoying the town! This area is pretty flat so it is becoming a mecca for cyclists! For those that like to cruise it’s wonderful to go around to wineries, shops, fruit stands or other interesting vistas. But for those that want the challenge there is the bench and the escarpment that will give you the work out to get you heart pounding. Increasing popularity is cycling the Welland Canal from one end to the other watching all the ships go through the locks!
Families will find an abundance of things to do with the kids. There are public swimming pools, play grounds, wading pools, petting zoos, largest touring chocolate factory in North America and Fort George where they can explore what kids did 200 years ago! Just go outside with your kids because it’s a safe place to roller blade along some of the paved trails, toss a ball around our go for picnics and read a book to the little ones while watching spectacular sunsets over Lake Ontario.
Girls get away? couple reuniting or friends just hanging out can get organized tours or just do some last minute reservations to see what tickles their fancy! Take a jet boat ride up the Niagara River and you can claim that you challenged the most dangerous rapids of all at a category six! Not so adventurous…suck it up, the jet boat ride is a blast and really amazing to see Niagara Falls from a vantage point that there is no other way to see!
Golf, Golf, Golf, Golf…do you like Golf? Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club (9 holes) is ranked one of the top 10 in North America and is the oldest one still functioning. Want more challenging courses, well there are lots and lots. But make your reservations early!!
From gourmet food to family friendly we have restaurants to offer the best of the best. Or do you like to cook? We have amazing fruit stands, farmer’s markets and boutique food stores that will inspire even the basic of cooks!
I am always surprised by what our guests do in our town that I have never even thought of! Photographers, gardeners, birders , geo-cashers, vintners, cyclers, antiquers and geekers… seems we have something for everyone!
Looking forward to seeing you around town!
