Just outside of the village of Inverness, on the Point Reyes Peninsula sits Bayside Cottage, at the waters edge. It features a kitchen, living / dining area, all with unobstructed views of Tomales Bay and the Marin hillsides beyond.

Most guests come to partake of the extraordinary beauty of this land. Between the National Park, Tomales Bay State Park ,and the Protected lands surrounding West Marin, we are fortunate to be engulfed by one of Nature's finest landscapes. A hike here is trans-formative. That being said, it has also drawn a number of fine painters and crafts people, all of whom gain strength and inspiration from the sheer richness of place.

Bayside Features two bedrooms and a bath with shower (no tub), it is comfortable for up to four guests. Here you can curl up in front of the wood stove and watch the world go by. It is also an extraordinary spot to birdwatch. If you choose, this cottage is complete with the modern conveniences to include wifi. So, if it is a project or an important game you want to catch, this too can be accomplished, without interruption. You are steps from the Inverness Yacht Club, minutes from hiking, can tie a kayak or small boat to the dock, grill dinner on the deck, or prepare meals from a galley well stocked in kitchen necessities. You are ten minutes from the our larger 'metropolis' of Point Reyes Station, its market. pharmacy and boutiques. Between Inverness, and Point Reyes Station, there are a handful of restaurants all serving foods of local purveyors. Summer months bring a lovely Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. It is is an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge. Both the Napa and Sonoma valleys are also doable day trips, making this little gem a perfect central spot for a broader exploration of the San Francisco Bay Area.

It's simple - getting in the rhythm of the tides, going to a beach, hiking, reading, sleeping, eating, and watching the animal life in a wonderfully comfortable tucked away setting.

Reviewer Comments:

My husband and I spent an absolutely perfect Inverness weekend at Bayside Cottage. This cottage is comfortable, clean and holds loads of character and charm unlike many other vacation rentals which can often feel sterile. You can feel the family history at this cottage, and it really makes it special. What did we do the whole weekend here? Relaxed! Watching the tide come in and out is hypnotic, so there was a lot of staring out the huge bayside windows and walking down the private pier every fifteen minutes no matter what time of day. The wood burning stove (with plenty of wood at hand) made for two cozy afternoons and evenings listening to music and playing Yahtzee. (They have tons of board games and old school videos on the book shelf!) The kitchen was also completely stocked with any tool, glass or utensil one may need. We BBQ-ed one night and ate in town the other, but whenever we left the cottage we just wanted to hurry back and hang out on the water. I wish we could have stayed a week at least. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable and utterly beautiful get away, this place is it. We can't wait to go back, hopefully very soon. :) p.s. Sally was readily available if needed, but left everything explained so detailed and easy there was no need to get in touch with the outside world. Lovely!!!

Reviewer Comments:

We came back to Bayside Cottage after staying for almost a week in January. It feels like a refuge for us. The same seagull came to the deck to greet us (he's got our number!) We felt less pressure this visit to hike and see the sights. Friday I had lunch at Nick's Cove and then picked up clams at Hog Island for dinner. We had a wonderful meal Saturday night at the very unique Sir and Star in Olema. We had Limantour Beach all to ourselves Sunday morning. Pretty hard to beat. It's a world away, and all within an hour's drive from home.
