About mark young

Seasoned travelers and long time Napa valley residents and restaurateurs. We know the valley and its many, off- the-beaten-path wineries and other secret spots that most tourists never have an opportunity to experience. We're both native Californian's and can help to make your Napa Valley and Northern California experience a great one.

Why mark young chose Calistoga

We purchased this property in 1992 after eyeing it for several years. When it came on the property we knew it was out of our price range but we also knew that somehow, we must figure out how to buy it. After languishing on the market for months, the sellers lowered their price and though still a hefty price, we purchased it. In retrospect, it was a steal but at the time, it was a scary and bold move. After living there for ten years, we discovered that it was built by friends of my grandparents for their Arabian Horses in the late 1950's. There is just something about this property that is so special, from the morning sunrise to the last rays of sunset, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

What makes this estate unique

Staying at Sycamore House, you'll discover for yourself what makes this place in the Napa Valley such a special one.

Perfect Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

My hubby and I stayed at Sycamore House over Labor Day weekend. The location is perfect, clean, comfortable, well-stocked and beautiful surroundings! The owner’s dogs were so sweet and gave us a “ tour” of the vineyards. Our only regret is that we only stayed 2 nights. We will definitely go again, but will plan on staying a little longer next time. Sycamore House was exactly what we have been looking for!

Mark was a great host! He gave us a great winery recommendation. We could not have asked for more. We highly recommend this place!

Beautiful and super comfortable spot in wine country!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved staying here. It is an incredibly beautiful place nestled in a vineyard and convenient to both wineries and great hiking! Mark and Ron were super helpful and terrific hosts. Oh and the bed in the apartment is one of the most comfortable we’ve ever experienced! Loved this place and can’t wait to come back!

We had a lovely stay at this very private cottage.

  • 5 of 5

The room is larger than it appears in photos and is equipped with a mini-fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. The hosts graciously welcomed us with a bottle of wine, chilled bottle of sparkling water, and fresh cream for our morning coffee. We did have a bit of a problem finding the cottage once we turned in off the main road because Waze suddenly came to an abrupt end on the highway. I would suggest getting some written instructions from the owners of how to find the cottage once you turn off the main road because we had no cell service with AT&T. Once we found the cottage and signed on to their Wi-Fi, we were able to make calls using Wi-Fi. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Simply perfect....a gem in North Napa Valley

  • 5 of 5

This place is a gem, would definitely stay again. Owners are professional, low key and welcoming---as well as VERY attentive and responsive in case something isn't perfect. The room and the whole property were great. Location makes it a perfect quiet hideaway for your wine country getaway. What a treat....THANK YOU Mark and company...including your great dogs! PS--they (the pups and owners alike) were friendly and welcoming to my 80 lb dog, which just added to the carefree nature of our visit.
