This newly renovated 1940's guest cottage is beautifully situated on 10 incredible acres with mature trees and wildflower meadows. It is a bird watcher's paradise. Located just 13 minutes from Hudson's amazing restaurants, galleries, theaters and antique shops. The Cottage is two miles from the Taconic State Parkway and minutes away from Lake Taghkanic State Park, New Forge State Forest and Olana State Historic Site. The property is private with lovely walks and is surrounded by conservation land. It is a 2 hour drive from NYC and available exclusively for guests looking for a quiet, rural retreat. Comprehensive food shopping is just 5 minutes away with summertime farm stands even closer.
The cottage has been restored with an open living/dining area, wood burning stove, new kitchen, new bathroom and new furniture. A gas grill is just outside on the private deck overlooking two wildflower meadows. Wake up to views of wild turkey, foxes and deer.
A separate 2 bedroom cottage is also potentially available.

We are relatively new to the area and have been slowly renovating the two Sears cottages on the property. We initially renovated and subsequently rented the main 2 bedroom cottage. A complete gut renovation was required for the guest cottage which is now finally finished. Now it's back to the main cottage which we hope to modernize and expand.

We loved the cottage. Perfect with wood burning stove and the surrounding scenery.
Linda is a wonderful host.
We would love to visit again.
Wonderful weekend getaway!
My sister and I and our 2 dogs had a spectacular weekend at this lovely house. It was clean and cozy, and offered everything we could possibly want. The property was lovely, private and well-maintained, and included a great fire pit. We could walk for miles from the house, or hop in the car for a quick hike and swim at a nearby state park. And Hudson, with terrific shopping and restaurants, was only a short drive away. We'll be back!
Ideal in every way!
My husband, mother and our little border terrier... spent two days and nights at cottage this past week. It was honestly a perfect escape in a clean, cosy place (so nicely decorated) with such warm and GOOD energy. The property is a gem. It feels like lots of great areas. Feels like you could spend a few days and continue to discover things. We loved grilling, enjoying the picnic area, reading and just chilling. It's nicely situated close to Hudson - and no time to Hannafords (the grocery store). Linda was so sweet and very accommodating. We will definitely be looking to book here again soon!
Lovely, comfortable cottage
My husband and I stayed here with our kids and dog. The cottage is on a very nice piece of property. Nice to walk around and explore. Our son especially enjoyed the fire pit and the picnic area. The main cottage is small, but there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very responsive, helpful and just very easy to work with. Proximity to the city of Hudson was a huge plus. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a quick weekend.
My husband, daughter and brother-in-laws wanted to get out of the city for the weekend this place was perfect. The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved reading by the fire and cooking in the kitchen. Linda was very helpful and great getting back to me with any questions I had. We had such a lovely time and are looking forward to coming back again in the spring or summer.
Perfect Getaway cottage!
My partner, dog and I rented this cottage for the weekend so we could explore the Hudson, NY town and surrounding towns. We were totally pleased. It is a quick and very pleasant ride to Hudson which has so much to see and do. The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and relaxing and the propoerty is gorgeous even in winter: 10 acres to walk around and explore.
I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a country/rural getaway but also wants to be close to what the surrounding area has to offer. Linda is a great communicator -- thanks for a great weened!
