The kitchen features granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and three stools at the bar. Next to the kitchen is the dining area, with a table for four, and at the other end of the kitchen is a walk-in laundry closet.

Two sets of doors allow access to the spacious deck, furnished with a bench and glider rockers to enjoy the winter views, a charcoal grill, and steps to the hot tub, set down on its own deck space affording ultimate privacy. There is also a porch swing on the front deck.

The left wing of the house is the spacious master suite. This room has a King bed with a TV, access to the deck, and a private bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower and double stone vanities.

Located on the mountain known as Howard's Knob, just 15 minutes north of Boone, Appalachian Boone Shine is sure to become your new home away from home!

About Carrie Dillon

My wife and I live in Tybee Island, GA. We decided to build a second home here while our daughter was a student at Appalachian State University. I am retired and try to spend as much time as possible in Boone as it is such a beautiful area and time spent here is both entertaining as there is so much to offer and at the same time it is an extremely restful relaxing place to be.

Carrie Dillon purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Carrie Dillon chose Boone

My daughter was a student at Appalachian State University in Boone. My wife and I fell in love with the location during numerous visits there. We built the house as a rental property and to allow us to spend as much time there as possible.

What makes this cabin unique

We love the very distinct four seasons, The beauty of the mountains of northwest North Carolina, and the changing of the leaves provides a truly unique experience of the areas fall beauty.

We just returned from visiting your beautiful cabin on Howard’s Knob. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. We loved the furnishings and the kitchen was nicely equipped. Your housekeeper does a great job. The house was extremely clean. We were excited that we got to see snow for the first time this season! Thanks again for sharing your cabin. We are looking forward to visiting again!

Regards,

Kelly

Amazing mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time staying at Boone Shine! The home was very clean, well stocked with necessities, had a gorgeous view! Carrie was amazing to work with, she was so thorough with instructions (seriously, the driveway is steep!), and as there was a winter storm warning during our stay, she checked in and was so accommodating. Absolutely lovely vacation.

Beautiful Cabin, Wonderful Trip!!! The mountains at it's finest!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was well decorated and furnished. It was clean and cozy. The weather was rainy most of the weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors that much, but the view from the windows overlooking the forest is Amazing! It is very conveinent to downtown Boone. I would highly recommend this cabin for a nice mountain stay.

Lovely house tucked away in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Roomy house with plenty of room for 3 couples looking to relax and enjoy the mountains. Kitchen has everything you need and I love the fact that linens came with the stay. Hot tub was great and our dog really enjoyed going out into the woods. Take note of the driveway comments... I was really glad that it wasn’t snowing.

Warm and Cozy Cabin in the Mountains - Boone

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in the cabin. The cabin was clean and contained everything needed for a weekend of longer stay. We really enjoyed exploring the restaurants and breweries in downtown Boone. The best part it was only a short drive down the mountain. Carroll (owner) was very accommodating. It had recently snowed in the mountains, and he made sure the place was ready for our visit. We would definitely come back and stay again!!

GREAT Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin-lacked for nothing both in the accommodations and supplies. Carroll is wonderful to work with and made us feel so welcomed in every respect. This is a "must stay" cabin, and "The BUDS" will be back! Thanks for sharing such a jewel!
