Peacefully located in Istanbul's most popular residential neighborhood, close to all the major sites. Sidewalk cafes and charm in this turn of the century neighborhood populated with Istanbul's literary and film industry types, plus the favorite neighborhood for foreigners. Cobblestone streets, cafes, shops, tea gardens, charm! Google "Cihangir" to read about this lovely neighborhood. Close to all the sites.
Sit on your balcony and look at a picture perfect postcard view of the mosque-studded skyline of Istanbul.!
We have just renovated and newly furnished this quiet 3 bdrm, 2 bath apartment with amazing views of the Bosphorus and Sultanahmet. Lovely Turkish tiles, parquet wood floors, Turkish carpets, and comfy beds and furnishings throughout. Lots of Turkish touches. Charming, comfortable and quiet.
Balcony, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, kitchen with a view, comfy salon with sofa sleeper, dining room with a view. 2nd floor (2 flights of stairs).
This flat is most comfortable for 6 guests, but can accommodate up to 8 with use of sleeper sofa. 8 is a bit crowded, but it is possible. We recommend combining this flat with the flat on the floor below for groups of more than 6.
You will love this flat. I am a travel writer and this is my favorite perch in Istanbul.
I am a Californian by birth, who left my tribe 10 years ago in search of a new home in a new country. Four continents, 30 countries, and many hundreds of stories later, I settled in 3 countries: Turkey is where I created my Oneworld Vacation Rentals, Bali is my spiritual home, and California is my home of origin where my family resides.I have a heart connection with friends in Greece, Nepal, India, Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, France, England, Mexico, Bali and beyond. The world is my home.
I write stories about our diverse lives that remind us of our universal humanity wherever we are, regardless of where we live, what we believe, or what we look like. Under my Turkish company, OneWorld ltd, I provide private homes as short term rentals for global travelers, so that they might experience this amazing city in a more authentic manner than possible in a hotel.
It is my dream that by living in each others' worlds - experiencing new sounds, tastes, art, architecture, music, beliefs, and ways of being, that we will grow to view the planet in all its rich diversity as Our World - OneWorld.
Robin Sparks purchased this apartment in 2013
I've had my eye on this flat for years and it finally became available in 2013. Our other Cihangir apartment located below this one has been so popular and we have had so many requests to house large groups, that I was thrilled to add Cihangir 3 to Oneworld's collection of short-term vacation rentals in istanbul.
Views beyond compare. Quiet neighborhood and building. Easy access to all the sites in Istanbul's most popular neighborhood. Lovely balcony with view. Only 2 flights of stairs from street level.
I can't believe its taken me sooooo long to let you know what a fabulous time we had in Istanbul in June 2014! I'm so sorry. Your flat was the best. It accommodated all 5 of us very comfortably and had terrific amenities (Loved the clothes washer!) The transportation to and from the airport went perfectly (we couldn't believe the traffic, especially at the airport ) and your management (I am sorry, I can't remember her name) met us at the apartment promptly and gave us an excellent orientation of the apartment and surrounding neighborhood. The apartment was clean and tidy and the neighborhood felt very safe.
We enjoyed lounging on the balcony after long days of exploring. Then, we would enjoy our evening walks and even took the ferry to Kadikoy for dinner with our wonderful tour guide, Esin. Thank you for providing a unique lodging option so we could explore this huge, cosmopolitan city in a more intimate and local fashion. We know we only touched the surface but I know my kids want to return to Istanbul!
Kind regards and Happy Thanksgiving!

We utilized the car service provided, as it seemed they were going to charge us, whether we used it or not. Although the subcontracted greeter was at the airport when we arrived, we had to wait 1 hour for the driver. We had provided our flight information, so they were aware of our arrival time. When we arrived at the apartment, we waited in the sun for 15 min for the door to be opened.
We were met by a pleasant Turkish woman who I believe was the cleaning lady. She spoke no English, so although she showed us the apartment and tried to give us instructions, it was awkward. Elif arrived 15 minutes later. She appeared to be in a hurry and promptly asked for the balance of the payment. I had read the reviews which praised her helpfulness, so perhaps my expectations were too high. She told us about the neighborhood, but only in response to my questions. But she told us to contact her if we had any other questions. We emailed her the next day, however received no response.
The apartment's view from the balcony was excellent. We enjoyed the view morning, evening and night.
We were there in August and it was hot and humid. The air conditioning is minimal and the unit is located in the front room. The front room gets somewhat cool, but it doesn't reach the bedrooms. Had to sleep on the sofa.
The wifi works well. But there was no TV/Cable reception.
The apartment was lacking 'finish.' Missing and mismatched baseboards, tiles. Not essential, but had higher expectations. Washer worked well. Plenty of linens provided. Mildew smell in the bathroom.
As has been mentioned in other reviews, be prepared for plenty of stairs. I counted ~220 from the level of the Tramway. Taskim square and Istikal Caddesi are close (but uphill). But that's the price for the great view.
We loved the location of the apartment. The view was amazing! We wished the hot water in the shower would stay a constant temperature. Also, keep in mind that this place is on a hillside. There's a lot of climbing stairs to get to markets and metro. Davide and his wife were super helpful. We had a really good time.

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for two weeks and we absolutely loved it. We stayed with 3 seniors, 3 teens& 3 adults and we were curious on the comfort of the flat but thankfully it was wonderful! We loved the neighbourhood ,proximity to the tram system and Taksim square. It was clean , well furnished and as well had an amazing sea view as a bonus. It's worth to mention that the owner representative (Elif) was so friendly and helpful. She helped us at the busiest times and we thank her for that.
My family of six (3 adults, 3 teens) stayed here for 2 nights. The flat accommodated us all nicely. In terms of decor and creature comforts, I'd say it is above average. It was cozy, the beds were comfortable and it was clean. What makes the flat really stand out was the balcony and views of the Strait of Bosporus. Simply gorgeous on a sunny day and even on a cloudy day. The view made the 3 flight climb up to the flat at the end of the day worth the effort. An added bonus of the flat is the second toilet. (I do not need to go into detail about that.)
The street the flat is located on is quiet (most of the time) and within walking distance, uphill or downhill, of restaurants. We rented the flat during the school week. I mention this because there is a school in view from the balcony that had all the bells, yells and laughter that every school around the world has. I personally like the sounds, but others might not. Taksim Sqaure and Istiklal Ave. was within walking distance too.
The property manager and owner were pleasant to deal with too. They arranged for an airport transfer service. I would recommend that service for a large group like us.
We spent a week in this great apartment. We were 2 grand-parents, 2 parents, and 2 small girls. There was sufficient room for all of us, young and old. The view from this apartment is stunning. You can see the Bosperus, the old Palace, multiple fameous moskes, the ferries running back and forth, the fishing fleet, the sun-rise, the sun-set. This view can't be beat. Location is also terrific. We often walked to the street car or ferry, and quickly got to the historical sights we came to visit. This vacation rental is a very good value. Only reason for not rating it a 5 star is that the hot / cold water temp in the shower was extremly difficult to regulate. We took tub-baths instead of showers, and that solved the water temperature regulation problem for us.
The local staff we delt with were great. We used their offer to arrange transport from airport to the apartment on arrival, and back to the airport on departure, and that worked also great. Highly recommended.
Everything you need and more in this favorite neighborhood of foreigners and local artists and film industry types. Turn of the century architecture, boutiques, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, night life, bars, views, antique shopping, waterfront just down the hill, as well as the tram, catch a ferry to go to the Asian side or to tour the Bosphorus, Taksim Square, Istiklal Avenue, Dolmace Palace, Istanbul Modern Museum, walk up Bosphorus to Ortakoy. Tram to Sultanahmet is just down the hill, and to avoid walking up the hill when you return, simply take the tram to the Finkikli stop, take the funicular up the hill to Taksim Square and walk 10 minutes to the flat through flat neighborhood. Rent alone or with our other flat on the floor below this one for a total of 6 bedrooms and 3 baths.
