Lagniappe Lodge is a charming mountain cabin. We purchased this property in November of 2013 when it was still a private vacation home used only by the previous owner. It remains in excellent condition with some recent upgrades. The dining area has been improved with the addition of a larger dining table with comfortable seating for six. The kitchen has been equipped with new pots (3, 5 & 8 qt.), pans, electric mixer, a new blender, and other cooking essentials. You can enjoy authentic charcoal grilling on the main floor deck using the new Weber 22" charcoal grill that includes a large food preparation area. The deck is equipped with table and chairs so you can enjoy your steaks, kabobs, or fish outdoors. A wonderful place to visit any season of the year. Sleeps 10 comfortably. This includes a queen size bed in main-floor master bedroom; a queen size bed and 1 set of bunk beds in loft; queen size sofa sleeper, 1 set of bunk beds and 2 single chair sleepers in downstairs family room. It has 2 decks with views of the mountain, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 full baths, 5 TVs with cable service, internet access, a game room with pool table and bar, and an outdoor hot tub. There is ample parking. The master bedroom has its own Jacuzzi.
We supply hotel size soap and one towel, one facecloth, and one washcloth for each guest. There is a washer/dryer in the cabin so you will be able to wash them if needed. You should bring your own soap powder, however.
The cabin sits on a hillside and has a lovely wooded view of bottom of the hill and the ridge across the valley. It provides a warm comfortable setting for the cabin with relaxing views. Start your day with a morning walk surrounded by the beautiful foliage. Spend the day taking advantage of the local attractions (see below) or hiking along one of the stunning trails in Smoky Mountain National Park. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and wildlife while you grill a delicious meal on either of the outdoor decks, or just relax and enjoy an adult beverage in the hot tub.
You should be advised that the drive up the mountain is on a typical windy and occasionally steep road. It is quite a pretty drive. The road is paved which makes the drive quite reasonable. We recommend that you drive cautiously at the posted speed limits. If you've driven in the mountains before, you'll find this is a fairly easy drive.
Activities abound for those of all ages and interests. There are amusement parks, including Dollywood and Splash Country, go carts, mini golf, museums (like the Ripley's Aquarium) dinner shows (our favorite...Dixie Stampede), outlet shopping and churches for all denominations.
If you are an outdoors person, then you will enjoy opportunities for white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, skiing, zip lining, golf, picnics (our favorite spot...Chimney Tops) and much more are readily available. Here are just a few examples:
