My grandfather built a home in South Harwich in 1963 and our family spent 2 weeks every summer. We have continued this tradition with our growing family and we're thrilled with the opportunity to purchase a home in the same neighborhood.
Mike Hannigan purchased this house in 2013
The house is a short walk to Red River beach. The back yard is very private. The deck is sunny in the morning and shaded in the evening. This location is also just a short ride into both Chatham and Harwich. Bike trail is close by and several lakes/ponds to enjoy as well. The Super Stop 'N Shop in East Harwich is a short drive!
This is a great beach house for those that want to enjoy close proximity to Red River Beach. It is a great family home with a living room on the first floor with large flat screen TV and a family room on the lower level with a 2nd flat screen TV, pool table, bar and sliding door to outdoor shower and yard.
Clean, bright, airy, comfortably decorated (and that wonderful outdoor shower) are the words that come to mind about this house. We were a total of seven for a week and never felt crowded for a moment. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and the basement with the pool table, flatscreen and bar gave us recreational space when it was too wet to use the spacious outdoor deck. Kitchen is well appointed and encourages eating in if you wish. This house is not only a short walk straight down to the beach, but convenient to Chatham with its many stores and great restaurants. Chatham Bars Inn a must see and Brax Landing in Harwich was a favorite for lunch - generous lobster roll a must! Overall a wonderful week.
I stayed for a week and it wasn't long enough. It is a great location if you like to swim in the ocean or fish at a pond, ride a bike or visit the nearby towns or just relax on the beautiful deck. The house is everything the owner says it is: very clean, well maintained, rooms are all a good size and very bright. We went to Joey's in Dennis on Lower County Rd. for Pizza. (best on the Cape) Squire's in Chatham, Brax, Kreme and Kone, and Land Ho. Pirate' s Cove for golf and the Beachcomber in Wellfleet. Cold water but high surf. I look forward to renting the house next year.
