About the property

Rustic Log Cabin Built By A Creek For Relaxation And Being Close To Nature

This three bedroom, two bath cabin is a unique and quaint log cabin built in the woods close to nature. The beautiful creek running along the edge of the property offers year round relaxation as you enjoy a cup of morning coffee on one of two decks that over look the rapids in the creek. Throughout the day, enjoy listening to the birds, the sounds of the creek, or your favorite music, reading a good book, or visiting with family and friends on the spacious decks. This cabin is made for relaxing. A double sided fireplace offers the glow of the fire to both dining area and living room. All bedrooms and the living room have TV with cable and the house has free Wi-Fi. Decking on three sides of the house offers plenty of outdoor seating for listening to the creek, smelling the pines, and enjoying being close to nature. This cabin is located in a quiet rural area rather than a resort with cabins built on top of each other. The natural yard slopes down to the water to offer places for wading and playing in the creek. It is also located near many of the wonders of the Great Smoky Mountains, with easy access to Cades Cove, the National Park, Dollywood, and the amusement and shopping areas of Pigeon Forge. Tubing on nearby creeks, zip-lines, and hiking are offered year round and skiing is available in nearby areas in the winter. Nearly every weekend in Pigeon Forge holds a special event and Dolly Parton holds a parade to open her park each Spring.

This cabin unfortunately might not be accessible for anyone who has difficulty walking or climbing a few steps. It is not considered 'handicap accessible'. It is a pet friendly vacation home for dog owners. Discounts are available to military members and first responders, and those who stay over 6 nights. Other discounts might be available in slow seasons. Please call for more information.

About Lucie Easley

From the time I was a child and we would sometimes vacation in the mountains, I dreamed of owning a small cabin on a creek. One day this dream came true when I found this very unusual cabin that was built from logs brought from other cabins to provide a quiet and relaxing home in the woods. One day retirement might enable me to spend a great deal of time in this cabin in the woods. For now, I open this home to guests who will enjoy the sounds of the creek, the viewing of wildlife, and being within a short driving distance of a great many mountain adventures as well as the tourist Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attractions. This is a beautiful spot to visit year round.

Lucie Easley purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Lucie Easley chose East

This is not a home with lots of built in entertainment. It is a place to relax with family and friends. It is a place to read a good book by the fire or come home to after a day of outdoor adventures. Sitting in a rocking chair on the deck overlooking the creek with a good cup of coffee is a fantastic way to start a day whatever the weather.

What makes this cabin unique

It is priced reasonably and affords the usual amenities of a fully functioning home. The kitchen is fully equipped and a washer/dryer is in place. Each bedroom and the living room has cable TV with DVD player and the cabin has Wi-Fi for internet connection. A local couple provide on-site management of the cabin and you will find it clean and welcoming when you arrive. Linens and towels are provided as well as a 'starter set' of paper products. Over the years several couples have found this lovely setting perfect for their wedding and/or honeymoon. The master bathroom has a heart-shaped whirlpool tub with plenty of room for two. The cabin is not located in a developed resort with dozens of rental cabins but rather in a quiet rural setting.

So peaceful and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Paws. Mrs. Lucie was very accommodating. We loved sitting out on the back deck listening to the roar of the creek. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was overall the perfect weekend getaway and we will definitely be staying there again in the future!

Gorgeous view, cute cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had so much fun while staying at Peaceful Paws. We have a family of five and it was perfect! The view of the water from the back deck was so peaceful. There was a bad storm our first night staying, but it was actually nice to listen to the storm and hangout with the family. We had actually brought sleeping bags and we played games and hung out outside most of the time we were at the cabin. Would definitely stay here again.

My brother, sister, and I booked Peaceful Paws in hopes of a lovely long weekend with our mom, to celebrate her birthday. When we pulled up, we were excited to see how close we were to the river, but once we stepped inside, we were very disappointed. The inside of the cabin was extremely outdated and not maintained. The furniture was old and damaged. There weren’t any pictures of the kitchen or bathrooms, and now we know why. The kitchen was only wide enough to place a chair in, and both bathrooms were tiny. The one upstairs was the size of my sister's camper bathroom. The bathroom downstairs had a heart shaped Jacuzzi tub that had green stains coming from every jet, and the drain had something white all over it. The water stunk of sulfur, and was so strong we couldn't imagine using it. There was coffee grounds dried out inside the coffee pot, from not being cleaned in quite some time. The bedding was not what was in the picture and was more of a thin blanket. The nail in the coffin was that as we decided to go ahead and sleep there, my brother saw a dark spot on the pillow on the bed. He tried to rub it off, and saw that it was actually a hump, and in fact was something inside the pillow. He immediately called us all to look. When he opened the pillow case, there was a live BLACKWIDOW SPIDER. Had he laid his head on that pillow... Lord knows...

I do have to say, at this point it was midnight, and we immediately called Mrs. Lucie, which she agreed to issue a full refund. We left and found a hotel in town to book for our stay.

I do appreciate the owner's response, however the pictures are deceiving and do not show the full cabin. I took pictures and video, which I did submit to Mrs. Lucie to show all I had said, was true. This cabin is in BAD need of a remodel inside.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry that our log cabin in the woods did not meet your expectations. I would have appreciated you calling me immediately upon your arrival to express your displeasure. I hope the refund allowed you to find a more suitable place to celebrate with your family. Lucie
