Casa Luna Llena is a circular home set atop a hill in the south end of town. We have a small casita which has a private bath as well as a kitchenette. This room is equipped with a double bed and enjoys ocean views and opens on to our garden and pool area. The casita is ideal for anyone who has trouble with stairs as it is on the same level as the main floor of the house.
The house has an open concept main floor leading out to the garden and pool area. There is a spacious kitchen and dining area. The living room area is also large and like the rest of the first floor opens up to allow the ocean breezes and views to be enjoyed to the fullest. There is a 2 piece bath on this level.
The second floor is divided into 2 large bedrooms which each have private baths. Each room is equipped with a queen size bed and have large glass doors opening on to a shared balcony and enjoying spectacular ocean views.
The top floor has a 35 foot circular deck which has one of the best views in town. There is a covered area to give shelter from the sun as well as a small counter and wet bar. Opening off of the deck is a small bedroom with a bunk bed that can sleep 2. This room would be suitable for older kids or teenagers.
Casa Lluna has internet service available. Air conditioning for your comfort in the houses main bedrooms. We have a secure parking area large enough for 2 vehicles.
Set amongst our lawn and gardens an infinity pool looks out over the town and ocean. Looking down the hillside you can frequently see iguanas sunning in the tree tops from the pool area.
Peter Wilson is a Canadian who immigrated to Mexico 6 years ago with his son Josh to escape those cold frosty winters. Originally arriving in Sayulita to help run a construction company he assisted in the building of Casa Luna Llena. With the slowdown in construction he shifted gears and went back to his trade of locksmithing and is now plying that trade in and around the village.
After this much time here he has blended into the community and is now the man many people run to when they need assistance with security and lock issues.
Pete Wilson purchased this house in 2013
I stood on this land when it was a bare hilltop and listened to the original owners explain their dream and the house they wanted to construct. About one year later the house was complete and the Kempers asked me to help them look after the place. After all these years of being involved with the place I learned to love it. When the chance came to be the owner I jumped at it and now I hope my guests will get a chance to love it too.
The hilltop setting and circular shape of the house make it a fabulous viewing platform. I feel I am the king of the castle when sitting on the roof deck enjoying that view. I've spent many warm nights floating in the pool cooling off and gazing at the stars and yes the full moon. Thus our name of Luna Llena.
We spent a week in Nov and loved it so much we returned for 12 days in March. Clean, spacious house; wonderful ocean views from garden, main floor & bedroom decks, and spectacular views from rooftop. Listing photos don't do credit to the view; you will be amazed when you walk thru the gate. House, garden and dipping pool are clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. It's a bit of a hike up the hill but you are rewarded with privacy and a great view. The full moon is amazing as it tracks across the sky. Last trip we missed the moon, and the stars were the show. Owner Pete lives just down the hill and he's easily available. Plus you can invite his dog Luke, a black lab, up to visit if you like. We were just 2 people, but you can easily have 3 couples, with 2 in the main house and 1 couple in the casita. Plus there's a small bedroom on the roof with 2 bunkbeds, if you have teens. Enjoy
We spent the first week of December at Casa Luna Llena and had an excellent vacation. The house is beautiful...very spacious and comfortable. The views from the property, especially from the pool are outstanding.
The property owner, Peter, was very helpful and available to answer all our questions about the property and the town. He was able to recommend some very nice restaurants for lunch and dinner, when we didn't want to cook for ourselves.
All in all, a great holiday in a very beautiful location. Hope to be able to return again to Casa Luna Llena soon.
