Great for relaxing, romantic retreat, small family trip, or girlfriends getaway. Main floor has bedroom with queen size bed, full bathroom with tub/shower, living room open to the kitchen, and sleeping porch with bunk beds. There is also a sleeping loft accessed by a steep ladder (for older children and adults only) with 2 queen size air mattresses. Cabin is comfy and has everything you need. The location is great as coffee shop and Front Street shops are all within walking distance. The cabin has cable tv and wifi available.
We are a family of 4 and this is our second mountain vacation rental. We live in Denver and love spending time in the mountains and sharing our spaces with others. We are both in customer service (Greg works in cable and Renee is a realtor) and like providing a great experience for our mountain guests.
Renee purchased this cabin in 2013
We stumbled across this cabin one day on our way through town. It looked interesting from the outside, but we fell in love with it when we walked in. The previous owners updated the cabin making it beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. We were so sad to leave that we decided to buy it right then.
We really like the craftsmanship of the log cabin. It was built in 1932 and updated in a way that makes it very functional, but still feels original. Reclaimed wood was used where the ceilings were replaced, the ceiling was opened up to the roof line, and there is a jotul wood stove in the living room that is beautiful and very warm. We also liked that the cabin is in town and walkable to shops and restaurants and across the street from the coffee shop.
We had an amazing time and we had lots of fun. One of our favorite parts was the cabin. It was the best place we have ever stayed in. There was everything we needed and it was decorated nicely. The kids especially loved the loft. The saddest part was leaving! Thank you!
The property was very clean and spacious. It is located in a beautiful location. It was perfect for our family of 5. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying at this cabin! It was the perfect size for what we needed. It is cozy and warmly decorated. It was close to town and we were able to walk everywhere we went. We had 4 kids with us and they loved sleeping up in the loft. Having a washer and dryer was an added plus! We definitely used it. We have not one complaint. It was such a treat.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us (our family of 4) -- our girls loved the loft area and we enjoyed at the end of each day being able to come back to the cabin and relax , watch a movie or just walk around the wonderful little town of Fairplay. The cabin was centrally located to everything, the hiking was great, the fishing fun and shopping in Breckenridge or our White Water rafting adventure in Buena Vista all within a short but Beautiful driving distance. The Java Moose served great pastries and coffee and your attention to detail in the cabin was Amazing!! Thanks again Renee and we look forward to returning soon :)
The cabin was small, but just what we were looking for -- reasonably priced for a night of sleeping in real beds before climbing a 14er in the morning. Great location in the small town of Fairplay, within walking distance of shops and restaurants in the town. Would definitely stay here again!
This was exactly what we expected.....a very clean and small, cozy cabin that was just the right size for three adults. We wanted to be away from the busy ski slopes and this was about a 45 minute drive to Breckenridge. Fairplay is very small yet the locals were very friendly with us. The only downside was no cable and inability to connect to slow internet service. I would definitely recommend if you're ok without cable and internet.
Fairplay has shopping, a wonderful museum, rec center and is close to all South Park offers - skiing, biking, hiking, skating, horseback riding, fishing, and skateboarding. There are several art galleries and antique stores and the coffee shop is less than a block away.
