About Renee

We are a family of 4 and this is our second mountain vacation rental. We love spending time in the mountains and sharing our spaces with others. The bridge in the picture leads to our favorite family walk in Fairplay. We are both in customer service (Greg works in cable and Renee is a realtor) and like providing a great experience for our mountain guests.

Renee purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Renee chose Fairplay

We stumbled across this cabin one day on our way through town. It looked interesting from the outside, but we fell in love with it when we walked in. The previous owners updated the cabin making it beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. We were so sad to leave that we decided to buy it right then.

What makes this cabin unique

We really like the craftsmanship of the log cabin. It was built in 1932 and updated in a way that makes it very functional, but still feels original. Reclaimed wood was used where the ceilings were replaced, the ceiling was opened up to the roof line, and there is a jotul wood stove in the living room that is beautiful and very warm. We also liked that the cabin is in town and walkable to shops and restaurants and across the street from the coffee shop.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had an amazing time and we had lots of fun. One of our favorite parts was the cabin. It was the best place we have ever stayed in. There was everything we needed and it was decorated nicely. The kids especially loved the loft. The saddest part was leaving! Thank you!

Everything was pecfect....the house was 1 block off the main drag. Everything you need is close. I stayed a month .I needed a chest of drawer for all the clothes I had for my extended stay, but I managed just fine. Stunning scenery in all directions

So cozy!!

  • 5 of 5

My boys and I came out from Chicago to snowboard for a few days. This was the perfect place to come back to after a great day on the hill. About 35 minutes to Breck and about an hour to Copper and Keystone.

The coffee place was right across the street and was great and the grocery store was convenient if you want to cook. We loved the South Park Saloon in the next town over about 5 miles away.

The owner was great and available if needed.

I would definitely recommend this home and hope to come back again, maybe in summer.

Charming log cabin in a historic town.

  • 5 of 5

Such a charming log cabin. My daughter loved the loft. We loved the kitchen and of course the wood stove. My only complaint is the bed was so uncomfortable.

Upgraded, quaint & clean cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. Everything we needed was here so that we could eat in, relax and hang out together. Love the way this cabin was upgraded. Also very nicely laid out. Everything in great working condition.

Cozy and clean

  • 5 of 5

We loved our experience and the cabin was well suited for a family of 4. When pulling up to the cabin, the outside doesn’t represent how nicely it was renovated on the inside. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door. Everything was clean and we were impressed with all of the details throughout, including the Copper sink and the slate walls in the bathroom, the very large sink in the kitchen, the unique furniture, etc. The kids loved the loft area and they could have their own space. We had adventures in the snow everyday and the cabin was a great place to come back to for a relaxing evening with a fire. I would definitely recommend.
