Lovely property and owner - only issue is lack of laundry
First let me start off by saying how the overall experience was quite positive. Sarah was very responsive to answer any questions. The house was gorgeous and rooms and dining area were perfect for a large family or families. We were a group of 9 (4 adults and 5 kiddos). The only issue we had with this property is the lack of laundry (washer and dryer) access to guests. As you can see, it is quite uncommon to have multiple kids and large families to expect washer and dryer eapecially at a large home. It is rather time consuming and inconvenient to drive 4-5miles and do the whole laundromat thing and spend a good chunk of your time around switching laundry or picking up your clothes.
Anyway that was our biggest issue with the experience (it is mentioned under amenities btw so no calling out the owner in that regard; just making future guests aware so they can plan accordingly).
Property manager was great. Unfortunately the weather was a tad cold and we weren’t allowed to use the pool heater (it drains all the propane from the house) so we never got to use the pool:(.
The views during sunrise and sunset are magnificent and this definitely has that feeling of a “home”.
Pros: nice and beautiful house, spacious, communicative owner, comfortable, nice variety of cooking spices and utensils (they have a paella pan!).
Cons: no laundry on site (have to drive 4-5 miles to laundromat—this in hindsight is a deal breaker to us especially with kids), no heated pool and no internet.
There’s no option to choose 3.5 so I’m giving a 4 as I also want to be mindful of the love and effort the owners have put in to make this a wonderful home for their guests.
Awesome, clean, comfortable and the owner is great to work with. We were 9 had plenty of room. Great Kitchen, patio and Master bedroom. Would stay here again.
House was awesome. Great location and clean.
Second time I've stayed here and loved it. Worked great for my group of people. Big rooms and kitchen. Nice that the lake has some water in it for a nice view of it and mountains. Had a little issue with propane but was quickly resolved. Thank you. My biggest complaints and these are minor is needs a big TV over fireplace and no garage access can require guests to walk through wet grass to get to front door. Very minor. Cant wait until next year. Thanks, Steve.
The property was great clean and spacious..
We totally loved it!!! Had a great view of the lake. Close to town and the river. Walked down to fish. Kids loved it as well. They enjoyed the pool and are asking if they can come back next year.. everyone loved it!!
Fantastic home for a bunch of families
We loved this house! Enough space for 3 families with kids. Great for little kids as it's one level and the pool with a view--- spectacular!!! We were close to kernville to experience the town and the river ! Also made it to 100 grands sequoia walk. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful Property. Worth every dollar.
Had a great time.
Lake Isabella is a favorite recreation destination in Kern County and the greater Los Angeles area. Situated in the high desert, 40 miles northeast of Bakersfield, it's just enough off the beaten track to avoid huge crowds and yet close enough to LA to be convenient for a weekend outing. Water sports enthusiasts find calm water in secluded sections of the lake for water skiing and wakeboarding while anglers know one of the biggest largemouth bass ever caught came from Lake Isabella.
