About the Property

Step Back In Time To This Vintage Mid-century Pool Home With Modern Amenities.

This wonderful mid-century (built in 1956) pool home in Magnesia Falls Cove is a place to relax, play, and enjoy the desert. The house has a sparkling pool on a great outdoor deck area that has a gas grill and covered sitting and dining area.

We're making upgrades including a new wall-mounted flat panel TV in the living room, new tiles outside the front door, better lighting, etc while maintaining the wonderful vintage character of the home.

We hope you'll enjoy the fun mid-century feel throughout the home. The kitchen has gorgeous formica counter tops! When was the last time you lived with formica? The original counter top stove is absolutely beautiful and adds to the retro feel. It is in perfect working order. Updates include a new microwave and side-by-side refrigerator and there's just about every kitchen implement you could want.

This home offers a separate dining area off the kitchen which seats up to 6 and a small table in the living area which can be used for dining or as a game area-- a perfect spot for card games or you may even be inspired to work on a jigsaw puzzle.

The entire back of the house has wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows so wherever you are you have a wonderful view of the back yard and pool.

There are two equal size bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, plus an additional bedroom/den with a pull-out sofa bed. One bedroom overlooks the front, the other the back. The back bedroom has a new flat screen TV. The bathrooms are side-by-side (kind of an unusual setup-- must be a mid-century thing) and the whole living area is on the east side, or cooler end of the home.

The home has an Honeywell temperature control system and does a wonderful job of keeping everything at a perfect temperature based on your comings and goings.

Other amenities include WiFi and free local, US and Canada calling.

Pick your own grapefruit and lemons from mature fruit trees in the secluded garden.

The location of this property could not be more wonderful. Magnesia Falls is located just off Hwy 111 at Bob Hope Drive. This is an easy exit off the 10 Freeway, and only about 20 minutes to the Palm Springs Airport.

You're walking distance to 'The River' of Rancho Mirage with great restaurants like the Yard House, Cheesecake Factory, Aqua Pazzo, and PF Chang's, and a Cinemark Theater with 11 screens.

You're minutes from the elegant shops and restaurants on El Paseo. The new Kofi is an short morning stroll and The Westfield Mall in Palm Desert is about 2 miles east.

Downtown Palm Springs is a short 15-20 minute drive on 111.

Did we mention hiking? Just walk left to the end of the block, make a right and on your left you'll have access to pristine state wild lands.

Depending on the time of year we may request an air conditioning or pool heating surcharge. We want you to have control over the cost: if you like the pool a toasty 90 degrees in January that's fine, but obviously it costs more than keeping it at 80 degrees. We're happy to discuss with you and figure out the right balance.

The City of Rancho Mirage requires vacation rental owners to verify the age of the renter with a photo ID. According to their ordinance you must be at least 30 years of age to rent. We don't think this makes any sense but it's the law and we have no choice but to comply.

A $450 security deposit is required. $50.00 of that amount is non-refundable. It is applied to a property damage waiver that protects against any property accident up to $3000.00. The remainder is returned to you within 30 – 45 days of departure.

About: We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and visit the desert as often as possible. Our property manager, Vickie, does a superb job of making our guests feel comfortable and at home.

Why Magnesia Falls Cove, Rancho Mirage, CA, USA:
We fell in love with this house when we first saw it online. So much so that we made an offer before we ever visited in person! But seeing it in person clinched the deal. It has such a relaxed and pleasant vibe, it is just a comfortable and happy place to be. It is also an amazing location. The entire Magnesia Falls community has a special feel and it is so centrally located you're no more than about 20 minutes from any place you might want to go. There's even a branch of the Palm Springs Art Museum and local Farmer's Market just a few blocks away in Palm Desert. Someday, we hope to live here full-time but until then we want to share it with visitors who'll fall in love with it just like we did.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Sitting by the pool at night watching the sky darken and the stars start to twinkle. Hummingbirds checking you out while you swim in the pool. Hiking the wash and seeing the desert in bloom. Driving around on a warm, sunny day and looking up to see snow-covered mountains in the distance. Doesn't get any better than that!
