About the property

Serenity With Convenient Access To Quaint Towns & Magnificent Nature! Sleeps 11.

Secluded from the outside world, yet only minutes by air or ferry from downtown Seattle lies one of the best waterfront retreats in the Puget Sound Region.

The inside boasts 3,700 square feet. Large windows let in plenty of natural light. Multiple fireplaces and fire pit make the evenings cozy all year round.

Sunsets are stunningly beautiful. Mornings are pristinely serene and accented by nature’s bounty.

Designed for privacy between levels if desired (e.g. 2 families, or parents & kids…), or for easy interaction. The upper level features living room, dining, with the master with bath, 2 additional bedrooms and bath, laundry, full featured kitchen, large deck with barbecue and table seating for 20, lounge chairs. The lower level features 2 bedrooms, bathroom, full featured kitchen, media/family area, entertainment room with ping pong table and bonus bed, and direct access to fire pit area.

Total of 1 king size bed, four queen size beds and one twin. Very comfortably sleeps 11 and entertains many more without feeling a bit crowded. A wonderful layout for a very large family or for multiple families -- and and still cozy if for a small family.

The house sits on 1 1/4 acres and is very private and quiet. It overlooks a sheltered bay on Puget Sound that is great for beach combing, swimming, and kayaking. (Kayak and paddle board rentals in nearby Port Gamble. Deliveries and pickups possible. ). It’s wonderful to walk along the clean beach with few people around. Explore for miles.

(NOTE: Plenty of shellfish on our property - which extends straight out property lines on land to beach - BUT picking up or HARVESTING clams, oysters, and other sea life is ONLY ALLOWED AND LEGAL ON OUR PROPERTY which continues straight out into the water from our land-property lines. So while enjoying the beach, you may wander and enjoy much of the bay, while respecting our neighbors' rights. )

A gas grill just outside the upstairs kitchen and two picnic tables make outdoor dining easy. Later you can watch the sun set on the bay.

Gather for conversation and story telling around the fire pit, roast hot dogs and make s’mores. Wonder at the stars – far more than visible in the city.

Equipped with 2 quality TV’s and cable access, there are plenty of options for one's viewing pleasure. Wifi internet serves the entire house.

On an inlet of Hood Canal, just ten minutes drive to the lovingly preserved 1860’s waterfront town of Port Gamble, twenty minutes brings you to the charming Scandinavian town of Poulsbo, forty minutes to historic Port Townsend with its antique galleries, cultural events, charming restaurants, and seventy minutes to Port Angeles where you will find quick ferry access to Victoria, Canada, plus incredible mountain scenery at Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Forest. Nearby golf and range.

A notebook with extensive recommendations for day trips, events, local restaurants and fun excursions is on the table when you arrive.

Come to this special place and enjoy a piece of Puget Sound paradise. We look forward to your visiting soon!

About Yuan

We are both busy professionals who love the Northwest beauty and vitality.

Yuan purchased this house in 2009

Why Yuan chose Puget Sound North

In a wonderfully comfortable dual kitchen home for 10+ guests, large or multiple families, great spaces, huge entertainment deck overlooking a gem of a setting on Puget Sound. We love the setting, the forest, the quiet, the views, the serenity, the shellfish, walking in the area, short country drives to nearby towns including Kingston & Port Gamble & Poulsbo among others.

What makes this house unique

Two kitchens on each of the two living levels are GREAT for large families or multiple families. Separate when desired, and together when desired.

The views from the huge deck, living room, dining areas, upstairs kitchen, and from the fire pit are amazing.

You are definitely in the country off a country road, a driveway, and extremely quiet surrounded by trees, forest, and on one of the best bays in all of Puget Sound. Nonetheless you have the bonus of being central to many wonderful places to visit and enjoy.

Beautiful, tranquil, and homey

  • 5 of 5

Oyster Heaven on Port Gamble Bay is a perfect getaway. I and the rest of my family (ages 10 to 60+) recommend it highly.

HOUSE: The house is well appointed and well stocked. The furnishings are lovely, comfortable, and easily accommodated our large group. The main kitchen (it has two!) has a large refrigerator, dishwasher, micro, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and other implements to make it a home-away-from-home. The bathrooms had all the basic necessities and were well designed; quick delivery of hot water and good water pressure too. The bedrooms were little retreats in themselves (everyone said their bed was comfy) with lots of closet space.

LOCATION: The property is far enough off the beaten track that it can seem to be your own bit of paradise. Yet, it is just a short drive to grocery stores and ferry (which we used one day to explore the Seattle side of Puget Sound). We spent much of our time on the big deck enjoying the view of the bay and its wildlife. The propane bbq worked great. A stroll on the beach (it's rocky so wear appropriate shoes) below the house yielded a few oysters for an afternoon snack.

GOOD FOR GROUPS: This is the right choice for a gathering of family or friends. The layout, which features complete kitchens on both floors, would accommodate two families vacationing together and still allow for privacy.

HOSTS: Owners Yuan and Greg were wonderful hosts. Though we did not meet personally, the way they have set up access to the house made it very easy to find and enter. They were always easy to reach via phone, text, or VBRO message and responded quickly & completely. They truly are interested in providing their guests with a wonderful vacation experience -- and they deliver!

ACTIVITIES: If you manage to pull yourselves away from your bit of heaven, check out downtown Kingston (about a 10-minute drive) for its quaint shops and eateries. Mora's Ice Cream should definitely be a stop. It also is where one takes the ferry to Edmonds (a darling town with lots of dining and shopping and easily walkable); walk on if you just want to explore Edmonds and drive if you want to get to Seattle or other areas. You could also drive 10 minutes down the road in the other direction from Oyster Heaven toward Hansville, where there is a little diner and store, a lighthouse, and sandy beach where whales, dolphins, seals, and other wildlife can be spotted.

Beautiful and Memorable

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time reuniting with old friends from over 40 years ago. Everyone enjoyed this beautiful home. We had oysters from the Bay with our Sunday Salmon dinner. The kitchen was well equipped. We had one friend who was wheelchair bound and the ramp off the deck was perfect for access to the house.

Thank you for making our reunion possible and allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We had so much fun!

Soooooo Relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

Had a fabulous time at Oyster Heaven. It's very secluded and peaceful with wonderful day trips in every direction. If you want to disconnect from can do that here. If you want to hike, ride bikes or just take scenic can do that here. We really enjoyed the light house in Hansville and the beautiful beach there and it's only 15 minutes away. Port Gamble is so adorable and Poulsbo has some great restaurants. The house has everything you need and lots of space for everyone. We are from Vegas and Hawaii, so found the downstairs cold even in June, but the bedding on the beds is thick and luxurious and makes up for it.

Lives up to expectations, winter or summer seasons!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property and super responsive owners. We came during winter--and found the location to be ideally located only 15 min from historic port gamble and 30 min from Polusbo. There are great big water facing windows, a fireplace in the living room and a wood chip stove in the downstairs area to keep things nice and toasty on cold winter nights. Lots of space in the kitchens (two kitchens!) for cooking and lots of tables for playing puzzles/cards/board games. And with a TV downstairs along with ping pong/foosball and air hockey, the "kids" in the group were well occupied. We had every comfort we wanted inside, and the shore was very easily accessible down wooden/stone steps to the water. And if you desire to catch oysters fresh from the bay, you really will think you've died and gone to heaven. Makes me want to come back in summer months to actually get into the water and spend time on the deck. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Oyster Heaven, was just that!

  • 5 of 5

We had a reunion of close friends at Oyster Heaven. The experience from beginning to end was fantastic! The owners responded quickly to all of our enquiries. The home is very tastefully furnished with many upgrades and amenities. There are even two full kitchens, one on each level of the home. The weather was so wonderful that we spent most of our time out on the spacious deck enjoying the waterfront. We kayaked, swam, collected berries and oysters, and dug for clams. Be sure to stay as long as possible because there is lots to do! We highly recommend that you consider Oyster Heaven for a large group.
