Overview

About the property

Serenity With Convenient Access To Quaint Towns & Magnificent Nature! Sleeps 11.

Secluded from the outside world, yet only minutes by air or ferry from downtown Seattle lies one of the best waterfront retreats in the Puget Sound Region.

The inside boasts 3,700 square feet. Large windows let in plenty of natural light. Multiple fireplaces and fire pit make the evenings cozy all year round.

Sunsets are stunningly beautiful. Mornings are pristinely serene and accented by nature’s bounty.

Designed for privacy between levels if desired (e.g. 2 families, or parents & kids…), or for easy interaction. The upper level features living room, dining, with the master with bath, 2 additional bedrooms and bath, laundry, full featured kitchen, large deck with barbecue and table seating for 20, lounge chairs. The lower level features 2 bedrooms, bathroom, full featured kitchen, media/family area, entertainment room with ping pong table and bonus bed, and direct access to fire pit area.

Total of 1 king size bed, four queen size beds and one twin. Very comfortably sleeps 11 and entertains many more without feeling a bit crowded. A wonderful layout for a very large family or for multiple families -- and and still cozy if for a small family.

The house sits on 1 1/4 acres and is very private and quiet. It overlooks a sheltered bay on Puget Sound that is great for beach combing, swimming, and kayaking. (Kayak and paddle board rentals in nearby Port Gamble. Deliveries and pickups possible. ). It’s wonderful to walk along the clean beach with few people around. Explore for miles.

(NOTE: Plenty of shellfish on our property - which extends straight out property lines on land to beach - BUT picking up or HARVESTING clams, oysters, and other sea life is ONLY ALLOWED AND LEGAL ON OUR PROPERTY which continues straight out into the water from our land-property lines. So while enjoying the beach, you may wander and enjoy much of the bay, while respecting our neighbors' rights. )

A gas grill just outside the upstairs kitchen and two picnic tables make outdoor dining easy. Later you can watch the sun set on the bay.

Gather for conversation and story telling around the fire pit, roast hot dogs and make s’mores. Wonder at the stars – far more than visible in the city.

Equipped with 2 quality TV’s and cable access, there are plenty of options for one's viewing pleasure. Wifi internet serves the entire house.

On an inlet of Hood Canal, just ten minutes drive to the lovingly preserved 1860’s waterfront town of Port Gamble, twenty minutes brings you to the charming Scandinavian town of Poulsbo, forty minutes to historic Port Townsend with its antique galleries, cultural events, charming restaurants, and seventy minutes to Port Angeles where you will find quick ferry access to Victoria, Canada, plus incredible mountain scenery at Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Forest. Nearby golf and range.

A notebook with extensive recommendations for day trips, events, local restaurants and fun excursions is on the table when you arrive.

Come to this special place and enjoy a piece of Puget Sound paradise. We look forward to your visiting soon!

About Yuan

We are both busy professionals who love the Northwest beauty and vitality.

Yuan purchased this house in 2009

Why Yuan chose Kingston

In a wonderfully comfortable dual kitchen home for 10+ guests, large or multiple families, great spaces, huge entertainment deck overlooking a gem of a setting on Puget Sound. We love the setting, the forest, the quiet, the views, the serenity, the shellfish, walking in the area, short country drives to nearby towns including Kingston & Port Gamble & Poulsbo among others.

What makes this house unique

Two kitchens on each of the two living levels are GREAT for large families or multiple families. Separate when desired, and together when desired.

The views from the huge deck, living room, dining areas, upstairs kitchen, and from the fire pit are amazing.

You are definitely in the country off a country road, a driveway, and extremely quiet surrounded by trees, forest, and on one of the best bays in all of Puget Sound. Nonetheless you have the bonus of being central to many wonderful places to visit and enjoy.

A nice home with lots of space for us, our children and grandchildren to spread out while attending a family wedding in nearby Port Gamble.

House and View Were Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice, and just as pictured. The beds were comfortable, and the layout was perfect for our guests. We spent most of our time gathered in the upstairs kitchen/eating area, which had room for all of us to socialize, snack, laugh and enjoy the view. The driveway leading to the house is a little narrow, however the house had plenty of parking. The hosts were very responsive, and the location was perfect for a wedding held nearby. We would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home.

Wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect host than Yuan! She responded instantly to any questions that arose, was very accommodating, helpful, and a genuinely kind and beautiful person.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beach house! It has an incredible location (a large and spacious lot surrounded by beautiful huge trees, right on the water. It's peaceful, tranquil and quiet...yet near amenities and other towns to enjoy excursions to. The view is stunning, as is the wildlife (sea lions swimming in the ocean right off the property, tiny crabs crawling all over the rocks on the beach, bald eagles flying overhead...). We spent a lot of time on the spacious upper deck soaking in the amazing scenery.

We stayed upstairs in the Master and guest bedroom closest to it. The beds and bedding were very comfortable! The kitchen was large with windows facing the beach and had everything we needed to cook with. We felt this was the perfect feel of a cottage, with the comforts of home. Our two toddlers were kept happily busy on the grounds exploring and having plenty of room to roam. We used the fire pit to have their first bonfire to roast marshmallows! The nearby towns and villages are charming, and we found lots of fun and interesting family activities to do (thanks to a thoughtful suggestion list and brochure/magazine pile of local attractions left by Yuan).

We made many great memories and it was a fantastic experience, all around! We will be back!

So-so

  • 3 of 5

Great location and pleanty of room. The worst part was horrible smell of mold from lower level- owner quickly and kindly dispatched manager who brought multiple air fresheners that only masked the odor with nauseating chemical smells and didn't address underlying issue. Only 1 oddly placed bath serving entire downstairs, air hockey, and fusball missing items and kids unable to play. Other than that a good time was had.

Owner's Response: Hi Greg, I found your statement is rather unfair and greatly exaggerated. We take pride for our house!! As confirmed by our very meticulous housekeeper who immediately responded, there was not a musty smell from the living portion of the house. She did say your kids opened a normally closed wine cellar door and that was a source of slight smell. Our housekeeper closed the door which will remained locked in the future. She delivered flowers and air fresheners going above and beyond to please you - as that is her nature and our nature. The lower level bathroom location is convenient to the overall space and has never been an issue to our many guests. We have many huge groups visiting and no one had the experience you described. Every guest has left happy and grateful notes or emails or text messages to thank us. It is very unfortunate for you to feel so comfortable to write a comment like this - especially after our immediate response - and be assured it won't dissuade us from offering our best to all future guests

Quiet and Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

In the area for a wedding, 6 adults and four grandchildren. Enjoyed gathering and frying some oysters, unusual experience for a bunch of inlanders from Wyoming! Easy to access and good communications from the owner.
