About the property

This apartment has two clean and comfortable bedrooms, kitchen and free WIFI

The Carrie Bow Apartment is located on the ground floor of the Buttonwood Guest House and and is very close to the center of Hopkins Village, within easy walk of most of the local restaurants, bars and stores. It has a full kitchen, a living room with flat screen TV and premium cable channels, and two bedrooms - one having a queen bed and the other with two twin beds.

There is a thatched roof shelter (a 'palapa') for apartment guests only, and a rooftop with a spectacular view of the village (ideal for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening.) We have four bicycles that are complementary for guests. Nightly A/C is included in the rate (please note that the A/C's are automatic and run from 7 pm to 7 am.) Daily A/C is available in the bedrooms for USD $10/day per A/C.

We have a beautiful beach, with lounge chairs and adirondack chairs reserved for guests only. Daily housekeeping is included, and Coconut Row (who manages the apartment) can arrange any transportation or tour at any time.

Great location and communication

The location was great, right on the beach. The rooftop area seemed really cool but we only stayed one night and didn't get to use it. We arrived after hours but still got escorted to the property and shown around. The living space was large with lots of seating. There were bicycles to borrow. The negatives were that the floors weren't very clean, the bathroom wasn't very nice and the pilly sheets.

Good location in town, away from big resorts; great service

Well managed property, easy to walk to dinner and shopping. Carrie Bow apt. was perfect for us. Kitchen equipped adequately, beds comfortable, housekeeping daily and service people (Matthew) around all day if needed. Snorkeling trip offered by Coconut Row was excellent!

We stayed in Carrie Bow on the first floor & it was clean & well supplied with everything we needed.

The staff were ready & willing to look after everything we needed. Either Damien or Kyra dropped by once or twice a day to see how we were doing or just to chat. Mischance & Matthew were on hand for housekeeping & maintenance everyday. We were comfortable & satisfied with our apt.. Everything worked & the beds were good. The nearby grocery store & the produce market, both a 15 min. walk away supplied everything we needed if we wanted to eat in. The village of Hopkins is not a resort but a Belizean village with local people as your neighbours. Everyone was friendly & polite. Restaurants were simple & the food was good but there were no white table cloths or wine stewards. There were one or two Garifuna drumming events at night but no gathering place for evening entertainment every night. The TV & Wifi were good so we were satisfied. Most of the people we met loved it & had come back year after year but the complainers went to the resorts elsewhere. It was quiet, the beach was great & we were happy with our stay.

romantic ocean view

My husband and I had the wonderful experience of staying at the Buttonwood Guesthouse in the Aquarius room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. We could not have found a better place to stay or more wonderful people. Damian, his wife and the staff made you feel like family and were always willing to help with anything.

Everything in the room worked well including the A/C. The room was top of the line, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, there was a soft, dreamy mattress, and was pure luxury being able to call it "home" for a few days.

The location in Hopkins made it easy to access some of the outdoor activities we wanted to do which was a plus. It surpassed all of our expectations and I would recommend Buttonwood Guesthouse to anyone looking for a place to stay. It is places like this and the people that truly make a vacation great.
