To truly getaway, you will have privacy and elegance at the Cove Beach House. In addition, if you love dinners out, local markets, spa time and cultural activities, Cannon Beach & Manzanita are both a 10 minute drive. You can easily pop in to town and then retreat back to the house to relax. There is a family of elk that migrate through the back yard in the evening and morning. There are two decks that allow you time to gaze at the sunset over the ocean while enjoying your evening.
The home is absolutely gorgeous and in a beautiful setting! The master bedroom bed is super comfy and the amenities all around are lovely. While we were there most of the surrounding homes seemed to be empty so very little traffic and except for the crash of the ocean supremely quiet. The beach was deserted most of the time as well which we just loved.
I will agree with other reviewers that while the kitchen is gorgeous it is definitely not set up for any kind of serious cooking. Although the appliances are fabulous the cooking utensils, pots and pans etc were fairly light. I was very glad I brought my own well seasoned cast iron pan, a few additional cooking utensils and chef's knife. I wish I had brought a stable cutting board. The one there is pretty but not very useful. However I am a fairly prolific home cook and we had more than half of our meals there. So if cooking big meals isn't important than the kitchen is adequately stocked for basic needs.
A word of caution regarding the beach. If you aren't able to get around well the beach would be fairly inaccessible to you. It's gorgeous and I loved it but there is a steep embankment of fist-sized and bigger round stones you have to get down to get to sand. If you have balance or strength issues you could take a tumble pretty easily. Also the sand is only accessible for the hour or two on either side of low tide unless you walk for a ways on said stones down the beach. Again, this didn't bother us at all but could be a problem for some.
The house was extremely clean and well presented. I loved that it isn't full of clutter from the owners as many homes we've stayed in have been. The closets were all empty and able to be used as well as the drawers in the bathrooms and many in the kitchen.
Beautiful house in a stunning location. Very quiet area with a secluded beach just a 5-minute walk from the house. Great views from every room, plenty of space to relax in, we cooked all our meals in the gourmet kitchen.
Manzanita is a 10-minute drive if you need groceries or would like to eat out. There are lots of nice shops there as well.
We had a great time and I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a special vacation rental.
An unforgettable vacation, we plan to return soon.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to stay at the Falcon Cove house. My wife and I both enjoyed not only the enormous forest behind the house but also the quiet little neighborhood that it was located in. If you are looking to get away from it all for a couple days, this place is perfect! When I had questions about the house or surrounding area the owner, Tim, got back to me very quickly. Most definitely will be staying at Falcon Cove again!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Falcon Cove. The home was beautiful and clean, well maintained in quiet surroundings. With only one home further down the road, there was almost no traffic. If is a five minute walk to the beach. Tim, the owner made sure we had made it and knew we could get a hold of him for any needs/questions. It is about 8 miles south of Cannon Beach and I am so glad we stayed here to have privacy and no crowds. Three things I would recommend would be: shades/blinds for Master bath and bedroom, a few more kitchen utensils (spatula, whisk, non-stick pan), and a TV to watch a movie upstairs. (There is a small TV downstairs). We fell in love with the view of surrounding forrest draped in moss and ferns covering the ground. We would love to stay here again.
Gorgeous location, close to the beach. Beautiful new house. Doesn't have a television or media, but does have wifi. Could use a bit more seating in the living room and cooking utensils. I spoke with the owner and he plans to add to what's there.
The Cove Bach house is tucked into the trees with and ocean view from the kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom. It's a short, beautiful 5 minute walk from the house to the beach.
