Beautifully Remodeled 4 Br / 2 Ba Condo Next To Canyon Lodge
Enjoy the mountains year-round in this completely remodeled 4 bedroom / 2 bath condo (maximum occupants: 10). This property is ideal for 2 families as it has 3 bedrooms with Queen size beds and a bunk room with 4 twin beds; it will sleep 6 adults and 4 kids or 8 adults (2 adults would be in twin beds). There is a south-facing deck with a gas grill and views of the ski area and Minaret mountain range. We are walking distance/across the parking lot from Canyon Lodge (deck looks right out at it), and you can ski back to the condo on the Village Ski-back Trail, and ski out from the front door (through the woods) down to Chair 7. Also near the Ski-back Trail is a small sledding area. The Village Gondola is about 1/4 miles away at Canyon Lodge and takes you down to the Village at Mammoth, which has many restaurants and shops as well as a nice general store. The Austria Hof restaurant is right below Mammoth West if you are looking for an easy walking distance meal. Multiple lakes are within 5-10 miles, and the east entrance to Yosemite is about a 45 minute drive.
The property was completely remodeled after purchase in 2011-12 with new carpet, slate-looking tile floor, cabinets, granite counters, and copper sinks throughout. The layout has a master bedroom with bath on the top (entry) floor along with kitchen/dining/living area; lower level has 3 bedrooms (2 with Queen beds and a bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds), bathroom with an oversize tub, and laundry room (available to renters staying 5 nights or more). Towels and sheets are included. Entry way has many hooks and baskets for storage; there is a ski locker right outside the front door as well. Amenities include cable TV, DVR, DVD player, and password-protected, high-speed wireless internet access.
Room by room features are as follows.
Kitchen: Tile floor, stainless steel LG/Bosch appliances, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, mixer, food processor, blender, wine rack, ample dishes / pots / pans, and pretty much every kitchen utensil you need. Island with sink and two stools.
Living Area: Leather couches, large coffee table, stone fireplace in the corner (gas burning so no wood mess), large HD TV, DVR, DVD player, CD player. There are a variety of books, games, puzzles, DVDs, and CDs available.
Master Bedroom and Downstairs Bedroom #1: New rustic-style furniture, Queen beds, large closet, dresser, TV
Downstairs Bedroom 2: Queen bed, dresser, moderate closet, nice views of the mountain / lots of sunshine
Bunk Room: 2 twin bunk beds, under bed storage drawers, dresser, blackout shades on windows to facilitate naps
Upstairs Bath: New cabinets and medicine cabinet, granite counter, copper sink, tile shower with rain shower head
Downstairs Bath: New cabinets and medicine cabinet, granite counter, copper sink, oversized tub (perfect for bathing kids) and shower with tile
Laundry Room (available to renters staying 5 nights or longer): Stacked LG washer and dryer
The Mammoth West complex features an outdoor pool (summers) and hot tub (all year), and ping pong in the lobby.
1) The unit is on a driveway at Mammoth West that does not permit parking -- you need to park either up a level or down a level. Cars can be parked directly outside condo for loading and unloading. Also, there is no room for turning a vehicle around on the driveway - we find it easier to back in than to back out.
2) Passes are required for parking on Mammoth West property and there is limit of two passes (i.e., two cars max) per unit. You will need to pick up the parking passes at the Mammoth West lobby upon arrival.
3) While Canyon Lodge is only about 400 yards away, if you have young kids we find it more convenient to drive them over for a drop-off and either park in the Canyon Lodge parking lot (free, but fills up) or re-park the car back at Mammoth West (marked parking spots along Canyon Bldg near lobby, but make sure your Mammoth West parking pass is displayed or your car will be towed).
4) The top beds in the bunk room are best suited for smaller kids, as the ceiling is low in that room.

Why Suzanne and John Valentine chose Mammoth Lakes
We bought and remodeled this condo to have a mountain family getaway in summer and winter -- we love it here!
What makes this Condo unique
This particular location is ideal as we can walk to Canyon Lodge and ski-in / ski-out when it's snowy (a good part of the winter), plus we have a corner unit so it's very quiet and private with great views of the mountains.

Loved the floor plan and location was great nestled in the back.
We had a great stay... loved the condo and location. Perfect for 2 families. Hope to visit in the winter. Thanks so much...
Would definitely book this place again!
My family just returned from a fabulous stay at this property. We loved the location and found the place to have everything that we needed. We loved the view, the layout, and the amenities. The unit was stocked with many of those things that you just might forget to pack.
Pros: Well decorated, great directions on how to use everything, fast Wi-Fi, cable TV that included a Tivo DVR (my favorite), stocked laundry room
Cons: A bit of a walk from where you have to park (no problem for our family, as we have no problem getting up and down stairs). We were there during the hottest time of the year, and the beds had flannel sheets on them. Without A/C those flannel sheets can get a tad warm. Kitchen was VERY well stocked, although it could use some more silverware.
Overall, we were THRILLED with the place and would gladly book it again. My kids are anxious to head back up there to ski again. We will be checking to see if this unit is available.
Huge & comfy condo!!!
We loved it here- but some stuff to remember. The walk to Canyon isn't super easy- it's a climb or a lot of stairs & then a walk. No parking close to the condo- & it's also a walk to the jacuzzi. We didn't mind this as we are all big walkers, but if you're not...
The condo itself is AMAZING! All amenities & the owners couldn't be nicer or more responsive. Wonderful views, huge kitchen, washer/dryer. Great heating & comfy beds.
Perfect for Outdoorsies and Hibernators
This condo is perfect for group/family outings. The interior is tastefully decorated, with all the most modern conveniences. The rooms are comfortably furnished, well stocked and in excellent repair. The proximity to Canyon Lodge is ideal for the outdoor types, while the view of the mountain from the living/dining area makes it perfect for those who like to stay warm and dry. Definite 5 stars.
Beautiful Condo & Location
We went to Mammoth for the Kamikaze Bike Games and staying at this condo was beyond our expectations. The condo was clean, cozy, and spacious. Great location too! We enjoyed the views through out the condo and from the balcony. Also, easy access to Canyon lodge. John and Suzy were great... any questions we had they responded very quickly. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend that you should too!
Great place and awesome location
We were there for mountain bike nationals and it was the best location we could have asked for. The condo is super comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. The owners were easily accessible if we needed to get a hold of them. I would imagine it would be an awesome place for ski season too.
